I really wanted to love this place! The location was great and the ambience leading to the room was nicely done and updated. Then you get to the room seemed a little dated and not as high quality. The was uncomfortable and the pillows! They give four half pillows! I've traveled and stayed in many places and have never seen this! The water from shower had a smell and when brushing my teeth the water from facet tasted weird. I appreciate the slippers, but wish my husband could have also gotten a pair. They had a nice grab and go breakfast with a good variety.

Update: So, Larry the lying manager states that they don't have a letterhead to send info back to the bank!? Lol WTAF?! Like a little baby when he was confronted on the phone we were hung up on. Simple, what kind of business doesn't have a letterhead!? Its 2021!!!!! And get defensive when called a liar??? If you're not lying than fix the issue!!! You wanna have a pissing match online liar?! Let's go! He somehow thinks he's untouchable....Attorney General and OUR bank says differently. He's a liar that can fix the problem. $1100!!!! How useless! Oh, and this guy laughs at you on the phone like you're an idiot. EXTREMELY rude when confronted or contested.

Spontaneous trip to Bainbridge for the weekend. Nice room - very spacious. Our room had a great view of the wooded area behind the hotel. Good location - several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. You even receive a discount at some of them for staying at the hotel.

It felt convenient too as there is lots of stuff right across the street (Starbucks, Safeway, pizza, etc).

Located on a bluff above Eagle Harbor, there is ample outdoor seating to enjoy the massive expanse of water and sky. A curving set of wood and stone steps lead down to the water where one can barbeque, go kayaking, sit and relax, or walk on the beach. I saw an eagle swoop on some cormorants that were sitting out on a floating dais (they dove and easily escaped him). The view of Mt. Rainier from the beach is unique and if one walks down a ways one can see the Seattle skyline. The place is everything it is advertised to be: the windows overlook Eagle Harbor with the ferries coming and going, the kitchen is well equipped and the stove has gas burners, the bed is very comfortable, the television has more channels than I would ever watch, Wi Fi is free, the bathroom is clean and the showerhead is powerful. The owners were friendly and honored my privacy. Photographers, artists, birdwatchers, couples, small families, kayakers, an individual looking to relax - I could go on - will all find something here. I found true peace and quiet.

The view was stunning and I loved watching the ferry go back and forth each day. The weather was beautiful and I was able to sit outside at the cute table and chairs Claes and Jenny have out on the patio. The inside was very clean and cozy and the wood burning stove was awesome! The owners live upstairs but I never heard/saw them, however, they make it very clear in the information they email you that should you need ANYTHING during your stay don't hesitate to just let them know. It was private, quiet and beautiful. For someone who only gets one vacation a year, it was exactly what I needed and as mentioned, I will definitely be back next year!

Stuck in the shower two days with no body soap. The bathroom didn't have all the towels upon check in. Had to call and request them. No shower mat was provided (until the second day) so I had to use towels and discovered upon doing that how filthy the bathroom floor was. The towels used as bath mat were gray with dirt and the floors felt sticky. Disgusting. TV didn't work right. Kept buffering and freezing making it difficult and very frustrating to watch. Lock on door to room didn't work properly so had to use the physical key every time. It has a keypad with code that wasn't working so it would not lock. Also--no further security lock latch on the inside like most hotel rooms so anyone with a key on the property could enter. Didn't feel very safe. Front door to Garden Building, where room was, stuck so badly and did not latch properly that that meant the building was unlocked overnight. When it was latched (after I left I had to slam it hard), came back and could barely get it open. It took three times of entering the code and I had to kick the door and pull and pull on it for it to open. VERY frustrating. This cute, little room and inn has so much potential but this big miss on these issues means I will not return and tell others to avoid the property. Any claim of a view of the water is exaggerated as it's a tiny peek from the room I was in which was on the far end of the Garden Building. Icing on the cake is that in the Inn at Pleasant Beach area has the worst WiFi. Phone calls dropped in the room and as soon as I went by the restaurants and shopping area, my phone has no service and was even on "SOS". *This place is not worth your money.*

The B&B is down a one-lane dirt road that winds passed a dilapidated barn and a pond that in the spring time is filled with croaking frogs. The property is lovely with tons of gardens filled with flowers and vegetables. The best part is how, even though you feel like you're tucked away in the wilderness, the Island's best Thai restaurant is only a 5 minute away by car, or 15 minutes by foot.

I had also been feenin' for a weekend trip somewhere I haven't been. As I researched plenty of areas to visit I kept coming back to Bainbridge Island due to the reasonably priced bed and breakfasts they have. I found Holly Lane Gardens on a Bainbridge Island lodging website. From the pictures it seemed like a cute place, was in the woods, and the price was just right. There are two rooms each with a theme, a suite, and a cabin available for stays. There is no minimum night stay unlike so many other places. We arrive at Holly Lane Gardens to a cacophony of animals sounds. There are roosters, chickens, ducks, and even a llama. The house is a spacious wooden structure surrounded by a plush lawn, cheery blossom trees, and a forest in the back. There is a swing to act out your childhood past time. I park and we make our way to the front door. We find numerous Post-Its directing people to their rooms and explaining the owner is either out in the garden or driving the tractor. We enter and to the left is the living room filled with books and a piano. The kitchen is directly in front. We walk down the hall to the right and find our room. I picked the Morracan room based only on its multi-colored bedspread and tried to keep my expectations low. As I entered the room I was blown away. It wasn't huge by any means but it was decorated with an Asian flair and there was burgundy net surrounding the bed. I recognized the brightly colored bedspread. I jumped on the bed and felt like a princess. The bathroom was across the hall and it was a great size and very homey. I was disappointed I didn't meet Patti, the owner, upon our arrival but we left and came back and met the cutest most kindest dog on the planet. We open the door and there is a doe eyed dog looking at us, not barking, obviously knowing we would do no harm. We make our way to the living room to watch some television and here comes the dog, nudging me with its nose to pet it. She gets her fill of admiration and sprawls herself out in the hallway. I later learn her name is Lady. The next morning I meet Patti. She is she cutest nicest little old lady I've met! We have our introductions in the living room as she is preparing breakfast which consisted of egg soufflé, homemade bread, and fruit. At the table we meet the other guests of the B&B and we all make small talk as we consume our breakfast. There is no check-in time according to Patti. I was told we could come anytime. As far as check-out goes, I'm not sure. We left fairly early but I would assume you could leave whenever you want. If you find yourself yearning for a short trip I would suggest going to Bainbridge Island and staying at Holly Lane Gardens. The rates are reasonable, the house is beautiful, the location perfect for rest and relaxation, and Patti is so nice you'll definitely want to stay there again.
