And sometimes you just don't want to wait so a different location and a little further drive can be worthwhile. After about a 10-15 minute wait I was called back into an exam room where I answered the questions by the nurse and then waited another 5-10 minutes to see Dr. Tisack. Once she came in, she listened to my description of the condition, examined my scalp, confirmed the condition, prescribed the medications needed, and had the prescriptions sent to my pharmacy for pickup. She asked me if I had anything else or any questions, I did not. Dr. Tisack has a pleasant and professional manner with patients and, in my somewhat limited experience, comes across as knowledgeable and confident.

Made an appointment to get a mole removed, had my consultation where Dr Mulvaney saw my mole,…read moremeasured it, and gave the procedure code to the nurse. I was billed 114$ for this appointment (my insurance covered 242, total cost 357$). I made the appointment to have the procedure, and called a few days later to get an estimate on the cost. I was not able to get a hold of anyone and was sent around to every department, I was told the front desk of the office was behind on calls but they were escalating the issue. 2 weeks after my initial call I got my first response from Tayna where I was told they could not estimate the cost of the appointment because they didn't know how much my insurance would cover. This then started a three week long back and forth because Tayna doesn't have an open line and every call goes to voicemail, and she only works 2 or 3 days a week. I then request a quote for the removal if I pay out of pocket, so I would at least know the maximum I would be paying. I tell them that I understand that there might be additional charges based on what happens during the operation. She still refuses to give me a quote because it depends on the place and size of the mole. Mind you, they charged 350$ for a consultation that they used to book the procedure, but apparently have no ability to then use that information to inform the patient. After that I finally called and canceled my appointment, I'll go somewhere else. It is unacceptable to not be able to quote clients for services, or even give them an estimate (and they should also be able to quote you for insurance if it's in network as well honestly). Would not recommend this office for anyone who wants transparent pricing or good communication.

I made the appointment at 3:30, was arrived at 4:15 and was seen and on my way out the door by 4:45. That being said -- I wasn't rushed. I just didn't have to wait, he came in, talked with me at length, both about what was going on and some things that proved how well he knows his stuff and how long he has been doing this (30+ years). My husband has been a patient of Dr Chiara's for years. After several moves (further and further away from his main office in Milford) he/we are still coming to his practice for any skin concerns we may have. We love the Novi office because it is a lot closer to us than Milford, but we just as gladly drive the additional half hour. Heck, we'd drive to Grand Rapids if we had to. Setting up an appointment is easy, and they do their best to get you in as soon as possible. Talk to Oxana (the Dr's wife) or Lisa (she's awesome) and you will receive stellar service, because both are super friendly and professional. Dr Chiara himself is patient, sweet and wonderful. He will do anything to get you better, and genuinely cares about your progress and well-being in the process.
