[[HIGHLIGHT]]Highland is a really cool spot, especially because it's like a whole brewery campus.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]In addition to the main taproom, there is an event space, outdoor volleyball courts, disc golf course, and hiking trails.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's wild! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The beers were really good, tons of seating, and there was a live band.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have rotating food trucks and the schedule is on their website.

Highland Brewing used to be a fantastic brewery and they still do have fantastic locations and venue's but their brews have lost their consistency. They did brew a couple of porters called (Thunderstruck) and (Nutz and Boltz). But they somehow did not release either in 2026 and they were very popular. They sold out quickly everywhere in previous years. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've also noticed a change in the venue programs. They had a Drag Queen show in Christmas 2025 and in February they had a Chinese New Year celebration[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Given this on top of the brews aren't like they were, that should tell you to go somewhere else. It's not worth the drive or the stop. Go WOKE - Go Broke !!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Amazing, pet friendly indoor and outdoor areas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A great rotation of food trucks. Full bar in addition to beer. What more could you want?

SUCH A FUN PLACE! I came for a group meet up, around 30 people total. The space is large with lots of places for groups. We split up into a few different tables. On the day I went, there was a fun show going on, put on by Divine! It was some fun entertainment and was interactive with the crowd. I'm not a beer fan, but I tend to tolerate coffee flavored beer. I got the Daily Grind which is coconut and coffee flavored. I liked it! I'd definitely order it again. They had a food truck outside as well as a hot dog stand. They rotate their food truck options depending on the day. My nacho fries were perfectly paired with the beer. My only complaint is the closing time!!! I'll definitely be coming back though. FYI, dog friendly even inside!

Enormous! Brewery with a frisbee golf course, several beach volleyball courts, a rooftop bar, an open air concert space and plenty of space for food trucks to set up! We came for a brief visit before heading to the nearby soccer fields for a tournament. I was immediately astounded by the size of the place, and equally grateful that they have adequate parking to accommodate the amount of people who could fill up the space! I got a fruited wheat beer to enjoy during our short visit in, and it was pretty dang good. Also good were all the puppers on the dog friendly patio! They had several food trucks to get a bite from, but I wasn't terribly hungry and they lines were pretty darn long, so be patient if it happens to be a busy weekend evening. We had a nice, though brief, visit to this brewery. I would love to revisit it on a future trip to Asheville.

Highland Brewery is an awesome spot to visit for a local craft brew. The decor is so cozy and colorful. I love the paint scheme of the mountains. You always find a great local band to dance & sing to while enjoying your beverage. There are delicious food trucks outside if you need to fill your belly with some yummy eats. It is kid and pet friendly, and plenty of places to sit and chill. It is located right off the freeway for easy access. Hit up Highland Brewery and check it out for yourself!

Hear me out .... If you're not a kombucha fan, this is where you become one. My hunni and I came here for a wedding this week and enjoyed a stunning venue. The mountain backdrop made the perfect scenery for our dear-friend's special day. HOWEVER... the kombucha..... that's what I'm here to talk about. As I'm not a drinker, this is my go-to & wow it is 10/10. Freshly brewed in house, with just the right amount of sweetness. So yes, this is me recommending a brewery solely because of the kombucha.

Wow!! Huge brewery. A couple of years ago, we went to the stand-alone bar in downtown Asheville and had a fabulous time. This trip we were looking for live music in Asheville. Just so happens a Pink Floyd tribute band ( Pinkish Floyd ) was playing here. We had no idea that Highland Brewing had another location that encompassed acres and acres of space. There was a huge bar, or a couple of them. There was a wedding reception going on in another large area. The Meadows, where we saw the band, was gigantic. There were parts of Highland Brewing we didn't even see. Anyway, we had an amazing night out. Great beers. Great music. They are about 6 miles out of downtown Asheville, but we will definitely be back the next time we are in Asheville.

Ask the Community - Highland Brewing Company

Are any of the Food Trucks serving plant based food?

I have no idea, since the food trucks rotate daily, you have to check the brewery schedule and check the menu of the food truck.

    Is it dog friendly?

I believe it is as with most craft breweries. We sat outside on the deck and there were 3-4 dogs there with us.

I don't see a food menu in the website. Do you serve pub food?

They have food trucks, but the taproom doesn't serve food.

Can you bring in outside food?

I would call the brewery to make sure, but they do have food trucks out front.

    Do they serve wine?

They sure do! And Sparkling wine.

    Is it kid friendly?

Yes- and dog friendly :) there is indoor and outdoor seating

Right away the place had a cool vibe, not just a regular brewery where you go in and drink a beer. It had a lot of interesting decor and you could tell they really lean into their own weird, artsy style. The decor was colorful and fun, with murals and random quirky details all around. It kind of had this dark but playful look to it, which somehow worked really good. The beer garden area also gave it a laid back feel, and the whole place had way more character then a normal taproom. The beer menu was creative too. There were plenty of beer choices and I got the Sinister Gaze of the Unapologetic Imperial Stout. With a cool name like that it fit my mood from the heat. With cocoa nibs, sea salt, vanilla bean, and that rich stout flavor, it sounded bold and kind of dramatic, which fits the place perfect.

The outdoor seating area is spacious and fun with old cars turned into self imposed selfie stations (guilty as charged) and a haven for sticker placements. Bartenders were great once served. However, on NYE you would think that both bars would be open?!? Having a huge line deterred me from getting another beer.

Once they opened we went right for the bar to order as it was getting busy with people already on a Tuesday morning! I ordered a flight and my boyfriend had a beer. The server was a little cold. Not necessarily unfriendly just a little curt which was fine maybe she was having a bad day. But I got a pre selected flight and she had me take a picture of the flight list so I knew which beer was which. Idk a lot of other breweries would have wrote it down but a picture works too. We sat outside on their covered patio and watched the river. It started to get really nice out so after that we sat at their turf area and chilled until we were done. We spent a good hour here and just really liked the vibe outside . People had their dogs so we were so watching and in generally very friendly . I took a picture beneath the sign with the bicycles. You can see that on a weekend this place would get crazy busy so it was nice for us to just relax and take in the atmosphere without it getting so crowded. Anyone who is in Asheville should check this place out.

Lot's of eclectic spice and vegetable beers, but the pairings are generally interesting and well done. They also have a few more traditional beer styles, if that's what you're in the mood for. The space is also very nicely done. Plenty of room at the bar. A somewhat dark and muted color tone that created the feel of a slightly rustic and understated space. I liked it. In terms of food, I ordered a mediterranean bowl and was pretty happy with it. Reasonably well presented. Some evidence of investing effort in creating an individualized concept. The ingredients were also very fresh. The toppings also fell within a reasonable balance. It wasn't overwhelming. It wasn't the best salad of this type that I've had, but it made for something crisp and fresh to pair with a pint. All that having been said, my suggestion would be to go for the beer. If you want to order food alongside your beer, that's secondary.

It's quite possible if I'd have visited during the day that my review would've been 5 stars. However, we came at night (well... winter night it was like 6pm?). It was dark. First, the parking lot. It looked like a scene from a horror movie where everyone gets killed. There was no actual parking lot, just some grass along the road where people were parked. There was a chainlink fence gate that was barely open, with an overgrown sign, and it looked like you were walking into a haunted factory. We walked in the brewery and it was only light by faint lights and candles. We jokingly started calling it the MURDER BREWERY in a spooky voice. I see the beautiful plants in the pictures in reviews here and we saw none of that. I have less-than-stellar night vision and actually held onto my wife's shoulders for her to lead me around. They also have a lot of tables without chairs. Maybe that's trendy, but really I want to sit and chat while I try your beer. I don't want to have to stand around. It cleared out before we left and we got a seat eventually, but the table/chair ratio was way out of whack. All this time and I haven't spoken about the beer yet. It was pretty good. My BIL loved the Mummy Cat. We all had some pretty decent beers. However, we bolted after not too long due to it just not being a great place to hang out in the dark.
