As a first time diner, I appreciated the warm greeting from our Maître d'. Our server, Anna, was equally warm. Fritto Misto - Calamari, shrimp, marinara - for the starter was cooked in a delicate batter and was one of our better fried calamari experiences. Next, we had the H.O.M. Salad - their version of an Italian Chop Salad. I subbed romaine for the spring salad mix and it was delicious. I had the Funghi pizza - mushrooms, prosciutto, truffle oil - which was, by far, some of the best pizza in the SFV -- thin, foldable and packed with flavor! So I hate to do this on Yelp, but I have no choice. I was really upset and grossed out/disgusted. PLEASE do a better job of checking the food that goes out to customers. I am very big on customer service and had I received a response to my email or message on Instagram apologizing or something that would've made me feel a little better and I wouldn't have written this review. It hurts me to do so. Acknowledging me and the situation and speaking to the kitchen staff to make them aware and pay attention to the food that goes out. I have worked in a kitchen. Unfortunately, during the commute, my dinner tipped on its side and the sauce from the bottom of the to go container leaked into the bag. Luckily, the sauce that was on the filet was still in place. The cherry tomatoes that it's served with were ripe and lightly blistered. Last, but certainly not least, was the cannoli that I ordered for dessert. Even after the ride to work and the wait for dinner, the shells were nice and crispy. The ricotta cream filling was perfectly sweet. The perfect end to a delicious meal!
