Dr. Guillermo was nice. However, when my kids initially had their appointment you can tell the staff did not review any previous records. I told them twice that my daughter just got one of her vaccines, but they insist to give it to her again. Her answer was, "ok, just let us know when her second series shot is due." Really, ain't you guys the people who tracks it. Fast forward 5 month later, I called to schedule an appointment for my daughters second shot series. The lady told me they no longer take our insurance. WTF, know we are scrambling to find another PCM. By far the worst I have experienced either stateside or abroad. I was with Dr. Guillermo since I was young & under my mom's health insurance. I always thought Dr. Guillermo was nice but as I got older & now a parent to four... I realized yes she's nice but she's not thorough & just gives you antibiotics for everything. What makes it worst is you deal with her crap front desk that has no customer service what so ever & you wait for more than a hour & a half (if you're lucky) sometimes. What makes it even more worst is that long wait time is with or without an appt. Just like what another yelper mentioned, I find it rude & totally unprofessional when someone doesn't speak English in a professional setting. These ladies are talking in Filipino which makes you feel awkward especially when you don't understand their language. I'm cool with speaking whatever you want outside of work or customers but in a professional setting, speak English because we're just assuming you're talking crap. Coming here from Guam, and been sent to Tripler (the pink hospital, where I had some very bad experience at.) My mom wanted to change and decided to have a filipino doctor that she and my grandmas could talk and understand. I think she found her number in the telephone book. She basically became the family doctor. They use to have 2 offices, one in Waipahu and the other in St. Francis Ewa Beach. I guess they decided to stick to one office. I could honestly say, I LOVED the staff back then. Aunty: Amandah, Josie(still there) and some other lady I don't remember. Don't get me wrong, staff now? (they're nice) but not the same. They don't show the same hospitality as before. Parking here is also a drag. IF you decide to go during lunch-midday. Morning not so bad. They're next to Savers. So I assume all the nana's would hang there and wait till they reopen after their lunch break. Dr. Guillermo shares her space with Dr. Brenner and her husband (another doctor) also is around to help. Its such a drag seeing that all 20 chairs are taken and having to wait outside since families that have 1 too many kids or ladies who give their bag its own seat. Lately, every time I call to schedule an appointment shes never around. Shes at a conference of some sort so her husband subs. in. I'm NOT a fan of that. Doctor Guillermo has been our primary care physician for about 20+ years now. Its always busy here. That's how great of a doctor she is. She's very friendly, gets to know her patients really well. When it comes down to it, she is very professional. She's also very attentive, passionate, and concentrates on our well being, that's why I love her. Everyone wants to see her. Its ridiculous actually. Wait time is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours until you're seen. Then the actual check up is less than 15 min. (Unless you're waiting to do a blood test it's 30min.) Majority of the time now Dr. Guillermo isn't present, but her husband Dr. Brenner is in her place. He's okay. Very informative but fast paced. I remember questioning him on one of my health issues, he didn't even bother to mention possible causes. Just made his statement and that was it. The staff is a whole different matter. I dislike how majority of them speak Filipino during work. Very unprofessional. The receptionist sometimes mentions your issues over the counter for everyone to hear. Its embarrassing. (Needless to say the room is very small)It has about 18 total chairs side by side. I get uncomfortable when the person I sit next to starts coughing. Some of the staff smile and greet you yet others are just rude and stuck up. It takes forever for them to pick up the phone. In addition, making an appointment is impossible. Good luck. read more

After being with this dr since I was a child and now I'm bringing my own kids here I'm looking for a different dr. Although she was good she's taken on too many patients and her service has gone down. One appointment I had at 9am and wasn't even called in till nearly 12pm when they was getting ready to close for lunch. I was rushed and wasn't taken seriously. There was several other people who came in after me and left before me, the thing I was told is if you tell the MA's something in their foreign language they'll pull you in quicker. I find this to be very true since I don't speak their language and had to wait. Another one was for 2 weeks I was texting, yes texting because you can't call the office since no one answers the phone to get a visit and for 2 weeks I got no response. I started coming here on the recommendation of a friend. I need a doctor closer to we're I live. Dr Guillermo is very nice. I feel she's knowledgeable and more importantly she cares. The time you have to wait to be seen by is completely unacceptable. There seem to be so many office workers too and it just does not add up. I called Dr. Guillermo's office for a consultation as my first child is yet to be born. The receptionist set up an appointment with my name, but hung up before asking any pertinent information about me or my child to be, including my phone number in case something happened. I went to the appointment this morning and the receptionist informed me Dr. Guillermo doesn't do consultations, I can either choose her or not. Wow, really!?! After I made an appointment and took time to meet her? Accessibility after typical work hours is convenient... BUT, why is the wait time longer than the actual time spent face-to-face with the doctor??? I'm concerned let alone disappointed...here my child's insurance is being billed, yet service time is no longer than a total of 5-10 minutes in duration. I feel that I am in need of a 2nd opinion... I have received much better care when my child was much younger, but now he's a teenager the attention has greatly decreased. I do prefer to see Dr. Guillermo but she's rarely available. She always is so upbeat and welcoming, but Dr. Brenner on the other hand is so intimidating just by the way he looks. They both have different approaches, but it's important to mention Dr. B doesn't welcome questions and is so short with the patients and lacks concern. I initially signed up with Dr. G and expected my child to get great quality care throughout his time growing up... hoping she becomes more available during after hours so our travel time will be worth it. She should work some late hours for the walk -in clinic because those who have difficulty with her spouse, Dr. B can still want to continue to get services rather than making consideration to find a new pediatrician or seek services elsewhere. I'm thinking Dr. Brenner's credibility maybe jeopardizing the clinic and it's a potential for results of Dr. G to lose more and more patients. read more

First let me start by saying that the nurses who have helped me are very friendly and consistent. They do not dilly-dally and take their time. After checking in one patient, they move on the next. I also have to say something bad here about their method of scheduling. I had called to schedule an appointment the same day, the nurse on the phone told me they had an opening at 1130, I did not get checked in till and hour and a half later! Like really? I have things to do and did not clear my whole schedule just for a single doctors appointment. A few weeks prior to this appointment, I had to do a physical for my new job. I waited in the room for 30 minutes while Dr. Brenner played games on his phone and took personal calls. Like really? You're supposed to be the professional. Act like it! Take your personal calls in your office or in the back away from the patients. Also, during this same visit I had given Dr. Guillermo my physical papers that needed to be signed and filled out. Before leaving I asked for them back and she did not know where she put it. She didn't even bother to look for it herself! I had to look for it myself and come to find out it was in a room with a different patient!! Seriously wth?! This place needs to get it together!! I am currently looking for a different Doctor. I don't know about the others but my experience and views on Dr. Guillermo and Dr. Brenner are Positive. First off.. Yes she's not ALWAYS out of office and when she is it ain't for some bad reasons. At least it isn't a ghost office with staffs are there to take appointments and follow up with previous patients test results. Dr. Brenner (Dr. Sorbella Guillermo's Husband) is there to sub for her at all means. Staff are not all bad, majority are young and are there as interns but can you blame them if their new and still getting the hang of things. People all you need to do is have patience, they are doing the best they can. Anyways.... My 2 toddlers, My Husband, and Myself are much delighted with the staff there. Yes majority of the staff are young but that doesn't change the fact that Dr; Guillermo and Dr. Brenner attends to everyones needs from infants to elders. My Girls love her and the staff. their very pleasant and friendly. It's not like you expect them to wipe your ass's to give them good reviews. They accomadate each patient as much as they could with the limited space and time alotted for everyone who needs to be seen by them. Parking isn't any different from heading to the mall at a certain time of day, It's not like everyone who parks there stays there the whole day.. C'mon people be considerate with specific reviews on the Doctor herself and the experience and not other things irrelevent to it. I've been bringing my keiki to Dr. Guillermo for nearly 9yrs. My cousin refered me as she was bringing her keiki to Dr. Guillermo as well. My 1st impression of Dr.Guillermo was: upbeat, friendly, caring, professional. I felt confident & secure in brining my keiki to Dr. Guillermo, but in recent years Ive felt as though everything has turned upside down. My concerns are: 1. She's hardly in the office anymore. When brining my keiki in for a check-up, or when sick Dr. Brenner is there instead ( her husband) I'd understand if it were sometimes but I havent seen Dr. Guillermo for a little over a year now. One of the main reasons I decided to bring my keiki here is because I prefer a woman Dr. 2. The last time I seen Dr.Guillermo she was very short w/ me. I had questions to ask & she brushed me off. I thought oh maybe she's having a hectic day. 3. Dr. Brenner in my opinion is very rude & always cuts me off when Im trying to ask a question. I mean of course im gonna asks questions! & as a Dr. he should welcome & be prepared for questions. He always seems like he's had a bad day & I dont think its fare because it reflects his attitude towards my keiki & towards me. Recently, my keiki told me that they felt Dr. Brenner is rude & that they're not comfortable w/ seeing him. That was a real eye opener for me because I realized this is seriously affecting my keiki. Also, recently I had an infection/rash & Dr. Brenner prescribed me medication (a weeks worth) I finished the meds & the rash went away. But about a week & a half after, the rash returned. When i came back in to see Dr. Brenner he told me that there was nothing he could do for me because he claimed that he couldnt see/notice the rash. He didnt even examine my rash, he stood across the room from me. Arent Dr.'s suppose to ask questions & examine the patient? I had to go to the E.R to get the care I needed. Turns out I was misdiagnosed & given the wrong prescription by Dr. Brenner. The E.R Dr. Asked me questions, allowed me to ask questions & he answered them w/ no problem, he examined my rash & prescribed me the right medications & I havent had any problems since. 4.Some of the staff are absolutely rude & Im sick of it. One of the ladies (she looks polynesian as most of the staff look asian & btw, I too am polynesian & asian) she never smiles or has a positive attitude & when/ if she does smile, in my opinion it looks fake not genuine. Whenever Ive asked her questions or spoke with her she always has the same sour attitude. I will say out of all the staff Toni is the most polite w/ exceptional customer service. She always has made me & my keiki feel welcomed whether it be in the office or when Ive spoken w/ her on the phone. 5. I recently found out that Dr. Guillermo is not a Pediatrcian she specializes in Internal Medicine (adult/ advanced age Dr.) I feel so stupid! I assumed she was a Pediatrician because my cousin who refered me brought her keiki to see Dr. Guillermo too. I too eventually started seeing Dr. Guillermo as I was in need of a new PCP & I asked her for a referral & she told me she could see me too. With all this said Ive decided to switch to another Dr. for myself & my keiki. I feel as though I shouldve made this decision a long time ago. I tried to keep positive & anticipated for things to get better with Dr. Guillermo, Dr. Brenner & the staff. But it didnt. This was a hard decision for me to make because I wanted things to get better. I used to tell myself, oh theyre just having a hectic day....our visit will be better next time. But the issues continued & got worse. My health & well being as well as my keiki's is very important & we deserve for our health to be managed by a Dr. who genuinely cares, will listen to there patient & welcome questions. Dr. Guillermo is a good physician however her office IS much TOO SMALL for the amount of patients waiting. Unless people bring their ENTIRE OHANA to their appts and THEY are taking up the already LIMITED seats. Add to that, the wait is ATROCIOUS... Really!? That I don't get because she isn't a OB/GYN that has to run off and deliver babies and I know her ON Call days are LONG PASSED...so, why do I wait an average of 45 minutes for each appt? - She is a good doctor. Doctors are friendly, but when you or your family see sorbella or berner, they assume the type of illness you have. When I asked about the cause of it, all they told me was " just take the meds" without giving me any explanation. Also dr. Berner, when he checks his patients, he is watching TV during work hours. Come on! Who does that? Focus on your patients first! On top of that, their computer is logged in where you can see all the patients info and medical records. That is hippa compliance. I was really sick got check but Dr. Guillermo barely even looked and touch me the whole time I was with her she never said nothin I even asked if I'm really sick or like what kind sickness is it. came in on a Monday for a follow up with Dr. G but saw her husband instead. staff claims they were shorthanded and flooded by patients. took over 2 hours to see the Dr. and once seen, out of there in less than 10 minutes. at this rate ppl can do their grocery shopping at pacific supermarket, go home and drop it off, and come back with time to spare for their doctor's visit. the staff behind the desk are constantly talking in Tagalog Filipino dialect, pouting and just looking disgusted to be bothered with when approached with a question. I've been seeing Dr Guillermo since I was a little girl. But I've been going to that office since Dr Wisco days. So I've known the long time staff members. (Auntie Josie) All of my family members even see Dr Guillermo. I've been comfortable with them all these years. I had my first son see Dr Guillermo since he was born. There were new faces but I've got to know them pretty well. I had my youngest son (20 mos) see Dr Guillermo since he was born & since then there were many new faces. The new MA's haven't been very friendly. They never say "hi" or greet you when you walk in the door or even when they call for your name to go into the rooms. Most of them are Filipino & they are very sassy. I am Filipino myself & I was born & raised in Hawaii but grew up with a very traditional Filipino family so I know exactly how Filipinos are. Some of the MAs don't even smile at you. Even the ones that's been there for years aren't even friendly. One day I took my youngest son for his check up & to get shots. He was still less than 12 mos old. So I help the MA hold my son down so she can poke him on his legs. Of course my baby is screaming & kicking & that's probably what made the MA nervous but once she poked him SHE DROPPED the NEEDLE ON MY FINGER. I yelled saying OWW! My finger was bleeding. I was scared that it won't stopped. I covered my finger with my hand. She never bothered giving be a band aid for it. She apologized but why would you just drop the needle anywhere. You are supposed to place the cover back on. I was pissed. I wanted to report her but I didn't. I wish I did. Now that was one bad experience. Dr Guillermo goes out of town often. When making appointments with the MAs or receptionists they never do inform you that Dr Guillermo is out of town or will be going out of town. So once you go to the office there's your surprise! Dr Guillermo isn't there but her husband Dr Brenner is. Dr Brenner is alright. He rushes a lot though. Our appointments with him can be less than 3 mins unless you're asking him questions. But he still rushes you when you're trying to ask him questions. Today I had an appt for my youngest son, we walk into the office & there's a note that both Dr Guillermo & Dr Brenner is out of town. So we go in to do a check up. There's a new Dr that's covering for them the whole 2 weeks that they're gone. Dr Eliasar Simon. Filipino man. So we're in the room with my 2 kids & my kids father. He closes the door behind him & sits down & asks who we are. I tell him "I am the mother" & he tells my kids father "who are you?" Obviously that's my kids father! Why else would he be here. Anyway, throughout the whole time he's been questioning us about little things about my youngest son. I told him he's been having eczema all over his body & when he scratches he gets cuts. He told me he gets eczema because my son is drinking vitamin D whole milk and told me to make him stop drinking that milk & switch him over to Almond or Soy milk. Are you FN kidding me!? I straight up told him that those milks cause cavities because they are high in sugar. He looks at me like I'm stupid & that it was okay to give him those milks. I work in the dental field & I know what & what not to give or feed my children. & this A-hole has the guts to tell me how to raise my kids. He even insulted my son's hair cut. My son has long hair & we always tie it up. He tells me to cut my son's hair & to make is short like my older son's hair. Like really!? & he even blamed my son's hair for the reason why he has eczema on his face. He treated me & my kids father like we were children. We may be young parents (23 yrs old) but we are not stupid & are not children. I felt very offended & mistreated. There was also a 5 minute black out. The electricity went out. Dr Eliasar Simon still continued this talk in the room not even going outside to check on the staff to see if everyone was okay. He even asked one of the MA to take my son's shot IN THE DARK. I told him can we do it another time? Even the MA said they can't do shots in the dark. He made our visit with him like it was an INTERVIEW. It was just questions after questions. & when I would ask him questions he would answer back to me like I should already know the answer. Wtf! You're the doctor, Dr Simon! You were no help at all. & I admit I did give attitude because he frustrated this whole entire visit. It was nonsense! I only wanted to do my son's check up, get his shots, & I was concerned about his eczema. Worst doctor ever!! After today I'm switching Drs for my kids. That office is no longer the same. It's gone down hill & I don't feel comfortable there anymore. After 20+ yrs going there I'm finally out! I like Dr Guillermo but most of the times I've been coming she's never there. I have been coming here ever since I needed shots when I was born. Checkups were always quick. Now it's so hectic. Everything is cluttered, only one person can walk the hallway at a time. The doctors are always talking to each other rather than hurrying to do there job and check up on THE PATIENTS!! My appointment was at 10:00. Its an hour later and I still haven't been seen. I am very disappointed that this place is called a Dr's office. Not only does it smell awful like cigarettes and like an old Filipino restaurant it but you will never be seen on time. The Dr prescribed nonsense amounts of liquid Tylenol to my 9 yr old son. Yeah chewable Tylenol would have been just fine. I always try to call to make appts and that is seriously a major difficulty. You can keep calling for 30 minutes and not get through. This is during there open hours by the way. Board of health should seriously look into this place. read more

I've been to this place for many years now and I have seen all three doctors. I agree that the Dr.'s need to quit rushing and it would be nice to have a thorough look at each patient and instead of giving some type of medication right away, it would be nice for them to explain exactly what type of sickness or situation we have going on with the body. I would like a little one-on-one talk rather than coming in and out of that office without my questions being answered. but what really needs work is the operation of the phone lines. IT IS ALWAYS A HIT OR MISS. 90% of the chance, it will go straight to voicemail or not even answer at all. You will have a small chance of getting your call answered. The service is great, they are all kind and helpful. It's just the phone calls that's the problem. read more

I would rate Dr G a 5, but the slight downgrade is due to some communication issues with the front desk (in their defense, they are all pretty much constantly busy), and because Dr B can be fussy sometimes. Dr G has been my family's primary doc for more than 5 years. Her practice is super busy because she's a great doc, and is willing to take complicated, high risk patients. She also takes the time to solve the problem you are there for. For that reason, getting an appointment and wait time when you arrive for your appointment can be problematic. The balance is that once you are seen, you will receive exceptional care. I understand why previous posters have been frustrated, but such a busy practice doesn't have time for consults, and is bound to run over if someone really sick or complicated is being seen. That also means that when you really need their time & attention, you will get it. My recommendations for the practice are: 1) expand: get a larger front desk, with more staff who are dedicated to specific issues (one person could answer the never ending phone calls & scheduling questions & still work overtime!) 2) hire another partner or some PA's/Nurse Practitioners to take up the slack. I wouldn't mind seeing a physician extender for school physicals, regular check ups, and annual flu shot/TB test. 3) give Dr B the real acute / urgent care cases--that is where he shines! And 4) reserve Dr G for the complicated follow ups & long term patients. Just my two cents. I'll continue to see Dr G & staff because they provide excellent care. I would just like easier access! Also, for patients: make use of the walk in hours! Dr G also works some of those & you can almost always see either Dr G or Dr B same day. Dr B usually opens walk in clinic early, so get there early & get your name on the list! read more

Dr Guillermo is a great doctor but lately she's always gone & the other doc fills in for her. The bad is she has a terrible staff. Very unfriendly! She needs to get rid of the young staff and just keep the older ones there. Unfortunately because of her staff, I'm changing my kids to another doctor! Dr Guillermo needs to really look at who she hires on staff! I wouldn't recommend anyone until she gets rid of the new young women she hired! So sad and my kids adore her...
