Amazing and fun experience at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin. This was a well run and amazing experience even if you are not a beer drinker at all. Pro top - Reserve your tickets online before hand and you can save a lot over the standard walk up 25euro price at the door, as well as saving time not having to wait in line. There are seven floors in this museum, facility and you start on the ground floor and work your way up to the Gravity Bar at the top, and christen your journey with a pint of their world famous beer there. You first learn about the history and the making of the beer, and progress to the advertising, as well as sampling some beer on the way as well as having the chance to learn how to pour the beer properly, and also have your "selfie" image on a pint if you so desire (extra 6 euros). The tour is self paced, and there is also an amazing restaurant if you want to stop for a bite if you desire. The Storehouse is amazingly well done, super clean, and they obviously spent a lot of money on the venue as it is very impressive. My trip to the Guinness storehouse impressed me. The Guinness factory was massive. The tour was self guided which continued each floor continuing upstairs. You receive a drink ticket when you purchase the tour and you get to choose if you want to learn how to pour your own Guinness, go to the tasting room or go to the top floor to claim your drink with a 360 view overlooking Dublin. We opted for the top floor and enjoyed the view while I opted for the lager over the classic Guinness stout. We learned some cool facts about the growth of Guinness and the history of the family. For example did you know Mr. Guinness had 21 kids and only half of them survived? I've never been a fan of Guinness until this visit. Guinness is served everywhere in Ireland and I mean everywhere. Visited Dublin for my first time and my fiancé's third time for my birthday a few months ago and experienced this tour. I highly recommend it to anyone as it was beautiful and go at your own pace. Pros- you could take as much or as little time as you wanted going through the tour. It was informative yet interactive enough that it kept me (a non-beer drinker) interested. The site from the top was breathtaking, and you did get to enjoy a drink included in the tour. Cons- because it was self guided parts of the tour felt a little confusing if you didn't do them in proper order and I'm sure there are things we missed. Because of Covid the tasting room was closed (understandably and a valid reason to go back again!). At the end we were just kind of told to sit at a table, and ended up having to try to find someone to be able to order our drinks. (no big- they were busy) All in all it was a great place to go- and if I ever get to go back to Ireland again, I hope to make it back for another tour! read more

A real tourist-y spot that you just have to do when you're in Dublin. Great history and information about how Guinness is made. It's very interactive, stimulating and engaging throughout. Guinness where it originates, tastes far better than in the United States. It's a must try when in Ireland. Bright, colorful, beautiful, modern. Yes, as you can see I really loved the Guinness Storehouse. It's a must do if you're a Dublin. I wish there was more history about the Guinness family. However, the Storehouse teaches you about the brewing process of Guinness. They use a lot of eye-catching colors and displays to learn about the beer's production process. There's no proper tour. You just select whatever time you want to enter the facilities. You explore at your own pace. It is 7 floors. My favorite floor is Advertisement. However, I love old school marketing so naturally this will be the floor that I'm most attracted to. This floor also has The Tasting Room. In this room you will learn how to properly savour a Guinness. One of the floors, I can't remember which, has a replica of a typical Irish pub and here you will learn how to correctly pour a Guinness. Bonus! You drink your own Guinness poured by yourself. Every floor had something that was memorable and noteworthy. The very last floor is a 360 degree bar. It has glass walls and you can just admire the whole city of Dublin. Obviously this is probably the most popular floor, so it is completely jammed. The gift shop is amazing. They have so many different varieties of Guinness beers and a whole lot of Guinness merchandise. By the way, I highly recommend the Guinness Rich Chili chips and the Guinness West Indies Porter. read more

So much fun! I've done the storehouse a few times because the tickets were free, and even on repeat trips it was just as fun. The history and mechanics of the storehouse is fascinating. If you're not into that kind of thing, it's at least pretty/artsy and lots of fun opportunities to take pictures. There's seven levels, culminating with the bar on top, where most tickets (all?) include a free drink. Every time we've done the gravity bar and gotten drinks it hasn't been too crowded (summer/fall each time I've went) and the views are impeccable. The gift shop closes at EXACTLY 3pm so make sure you go there first. We made the mistake of going through the experience and getting our free drink only to find out the gift shop was already closed and they were turning dozens of people away. I ended up here thanks to Conan O'Brien's hilarious segment on his show. The tasting room was the first time I had ever tasted Guinness beer. Myself, and everyone else in my group, winced in agony when the black stuff hit our lips. Guinness tastes great as an ingredient in beef stew but as a beverage, it is too thick, strong and bitter. Too bad they don't let you sample the other beverages manufactured by Guinness, like Rockshore. Storehouse experience is still worth the price of admission, even if you are not a beer drinker. We loved the exhibits showing the history of Guinness advertisements and especially the 360 degree view of Dublin from the top floor. read more

When in Dublin, it is essential to not only have pints of Guinness but to visit the Guinness storehouse. This is a staple in Dublin and for all the right reasons. We had a great time here. We really got the historic background and how Guinness is created. They had a bunch of cool bars / restaurants inside as well, including a great inclosed rooftop with great views of the city. You even get to have your picture inside of a beer here. It was a great experience and definitely worth it if you're ever in Dublin. I've been on plenty of brewery tours, but none like at the Guinness Storehouse! If you are planning on being in Dublin then get tickets ahead of time online otherwise you may miss out on this experience. My friend and I were glad that we came here and that we had consciously planned ahead. They had a lot of exhibits and it was interesting to see everything, from the ingredients to the beer storage to the art to pouring the beer. The tour is progressive until you end up on their bar at the top with a 360 degree view of Dublin and a glass of Guinness. We spent a while just drinking and enjoying the view after the tour. When you hear people say that Guinness tastes different in Ireland, they are not lying! It is true. I'm not sure what the difference is but I like it. Hard to come to Dublin and not see what all the hype is about. When you arrive don't arrive more than 30 minutes early. We did which was a mistake as there are no restrooms close you can access. We walked and left early as we didn't know how long it will take. Poor planning on my part as I had a couple of drinks prior to the walk and staff wouldn't allow us to use the restroom and told to walk to a pub a block away. Never really been a fan of Guinness beer but I love beer in general. Found out during a tasting I've been drinking it wrong making it bitter. I had planned on skipping the tasting but after hearing how to drink it I'm glad I didn't. This building is massive. You will definitely get your steps in. If you're a Guinness fan the gift shop is amazing. You will learn a lot on the self guided tour. The views are amazing at the top but way too crowded for my liking. If you want to sit and enjoy your beer you will most likely finish it before a table opens up at the top bar. I'd recommend hitting the bar on the lower level if you want to sit and relax and enjoy your beer. read more

My European Vacation began in Dublin, Ireland and I toured the Guinness Storehouse. Admittedly, I drink less Guinness than other beers, but I do like it. If you are a beer aficionado of any kind, and you find yourself in Dublin, you should take the tour. When you enter the facility you know that the makers of this find brew are very proud of their products. It's not just a brewery, but a museum. It is surprisingly modern inside in both interior design and technological features (interactive displays, WiFi, various rooms adorned with photos, arts, sculptures, etc) that belies its outer exterior. From the outside it just looks like an old brick building. Guests are alllowed to take as long as they like to tour the museum. One of the many things that I learned was the what make Guinness special; it starts with the water. Inside there is an indoor waterfall. There are a number of bars and some even have live performances--very cool. Best of all, there is a bar (Gravity Bar) at the very top that gives you a nearly 360-degree view of Dublin. It is absolutely brilliant. And to make things better, your tour gives you a beer ticket. I sipped my delicious pint while watching the sun set. It was a fantastic way to end the tour. read more

The Connoisseur Experience is well worth the visit and I highly recommend paying extra to join this experience. You partake in a private tasting of 4 different Guinness beers, learn about the history of the brand, pour your own pint (which you can drink while you explore the museum afterwards), and enjoy commentary and banter with the connoisseur and other participants. In addition, your ticket also includes another pint in the storehouse! Note: you can take as many photos in the Connoisseur Experience, however no videos are allowed. Unpopular opinion, but this was by far the most overrated place we went to while in Dublin... everyone gave us such high hopes and it was mehhh I learned how the beer was made, I read some cool history, but there was nothing amazing or exciting. All of the cool stuff was all added experiences you had to pay for. For me it was not worth going. I wish it would have been more fun an interactive. The only cool part is trying the beer in the middle of the tour and they give you a chocolate and going to the sky bar at the end. But even that was supper crowded. read more

They even closed the restaurant down for our group and gave us a private meal. The Guinness Storehouse is a massive six-story building with a dazzling spider web of internal escalators and spiral staircases to help you see it all. The ground level is dedicated to "the Black Stuff" ingredients with slick displays dedicated to hops and barley and water. It also houses their large gift shop. The next level up taught us about their beer barrels and the brewing process. Next level houses many tasting rooms for sampling, but the fun is on the next level. Here on the fourth level you'll see a terrific display on the history of Guinness advertising over the decades. You'll also see the "Connoisseur Experience" where you'll learn to pour a perfect pint and be rewarded with a refreshing Guinness and a certificate to document your bartender expertise. Restaurants and bars occupy the upper levels. Guinness is the number one tourist attraction in Ireland, so it will be very loud and very crowded. It was when we visited, but give Guinness credit, they sure know how to manage those big crowds of thirsty visitors. read more

I have wanted to visit the Guinness Storehouse for a very long time. We finally made. It was a bit confusing how the lines worked to get into the place. We didn't have tickets so hubby went and asked and we were pointed in the basement area which is where the tickets are sold. If you know you are going ahead of time purchase them online to save a long wait time. It is a self guided tour which takes you the many levels. Your ticket includes a pint of Guinness. There are 7 floors to visit. The 7th floor has the Gravity Bar. We didn't make it up there as there is so much to see and do here. We started the walking tour and then realized we were hungry so decided to check out their restaurant options. We decided on the Brewers Dining Hall. I ordered the Croque Madam and hubby ordered the Irish Stew. Wow a ton of food! Save our pint for later and tried a smaller beer. As we continued our walking tour we saw another bar area where we heard music so thought we would check it out. It is called Arrol. It was decked out in purple and pink lights with a DJ (a woman). Great music was playing and so we thought we would get our beer here and listen to some music. I decided on a sampler so I could try multiple beers that may not be available where we live. We finally found a spot to relax and then one of the hosts mentioned they had a new beer. It was the Summer Ale, which unfortunately I had chosen in my sampler. Oh well. He then mentioned stay around because they had a surprise. Suddenly a drummer walked in a started pounding. Then some of the staff started dancing on tables and the stage. So much fun. As we were starting to run out of time we decided to go to the gift shop and stock up on Guinness gear. You but tickets for a specific time, but we were let in right when we got there which was before our time. The experience is pretty cool. It is definitely very much a production. There was a floor for advertising which I thought was pretty interesting. They focused a lot on how the beer is made. You get a free pint (which can also be used for soda) that can be used at one of a few different bars or experiences. We used ours at the gravity bar which was really cool with an amazing view of the city, but it was incredibly crowded. There's if course a gift shop where you can buy just about anything you could ever want branded with Guinness. I wish it had been a bit more interactive and that they had given more background on the Guinness family and the history of the brewery. I was with family who really only wanted to visit the gift shop, but of course, you must pay entry first into the building, even if you just want to buy gifts? They can make even more money that way which I understand. We came at around 5pm and there were no lines. Could walk through everything as some reviews say long lines w/ hour(s) wait time. The whole experience was really cool! Little overwhelming at times because of the 7 stories, but I loved all of the interactions they have here and walks you through the whole process of how the beer is made and distributed. Special floor for marketing/advertising as well. Lots of seating upstairs and food/restaurants. Quizzes/Games on your knowledge of alcohol on the food level floors too. One highlight is the roof top bar with panoramic views! Make sure you check this out. Also, in one of the tasting rooms they had entertainment....sort of like Celtic dancing with their tap dancing shoes. Who needs riverdance when you can just go to the Guinness Storehouse!? LOL! We were sort of in a rush to go through the whole experience because we were on our feet all day, so I would recommend taking at least 2 hours so you can see everything. The gift shop downstairs has every beer item you can imagine. During my European trip, I went to Amsterdam and visited the Heineken factory and I liked the Guinness experience much more. Highly recommend visiting, even if you're not a Guinness or beer drinking fan. They made a good deal of interactions/exhibits something at least for everyone in the family to enjoy. Had to visit Ireland's #1 most popular tourist attraction, home of the dark dreamy dark stuff! Came here with our tour group, we got to skip the lines and received an extra drink voucher or two! You are given a map of the 7 floors to explore, but we were so hungry we went straight to the 5th floor for lunch. Lot's of food options to choose from, I went with the Guinness stew and a cold pint of Guinness... so perfect together. Then it was back down to the first floor to start our tour... the taste, pour, experience begins...1st floor is the story of Arthur Guinness and the history behind the famous beer. Also the store with anything sold that says Guinness. 2nd floor, starts the tasting, lot's of hands on interactive experiences. 3rd floor is all about the advertising, over 80 years of campaigns. Great photo opts here with the oversized statues (love the kangaroo) also having a beer in hand as you explore is a great way to really enjoy the history! 4th floor is where you learn how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness... you even get a certificate to prove it! 5th floor is the dining hall. The last floor is the Gravity bar, you are rewarded here with a ready poured pint! Such a beautiful sight seeing so many pints lined up cascading.... yum! The bar has 360 degrees of amazing views over the Dublin skyline. With couches and chairs scattered all around but it was better to just stand next to the windows to look out. Not accommodating if you're under 18. I'm 17, nearly turning 18, and I wasn't able to use any of the amenities here. My family purchases tickets for the stoutie experience where they print your face onto the foam of a beer, and I wasn't allowed to be in any of the photos, nor was I allowed to have a non-alcoholic drink. I had to stand to the side while my whole family took group photos to get printed on their drinks. When you first walk in, they give a ticket to receive a free soft drink to people under 18, but there are only three options; fanta, pepsi, or 7 up. You'd except there to be at least a craft soda but I was only offered 3 generic supermarket options. It just made it a miserable experience for me being constantly denied any amenities and having to watch my family get the full experience. I understand not being allowed a beer, as I'm not the legal age yet, but not being allowed to be in a photo and not being allowed to have a non-alcoholic drink? That's simply absurd to me. read more

The tour you could spend pretty much all day on if you wanted. Also at the sky bar. The all glass panorama floor to ceiling up above Dublin views: the best. The bartenders were friendly. I got 2 glasses of Guinness. The pour! It was all in the beautiful pour. The weather was ice cold and even snowed a bit that day so most people that got a seat wasn't moving anytime soon. Meh. I am a tourist and this is a total tourist trap...I guess unless you know nothing about the process of beer brewing and have nothing better to do. It was a bit of a walk to get there only to be packed in with tons of people and tour bus groups. It was many floors of "history". I was actually hoping there would be more artifacts and history than there was. The first 2 floors explained the brewing process (yada yada) and how they use "special" hops and do "special" fermentation (spoiler alert: it's exactly the same as every other beer in the world). What I did appreciate was the videos they played showing old workers seal casks, etc. they were on tiny screens though and the place was packed so it was hard to see. There were some old "artifacts" such as doctors notepads, old bottles, etc which I liked. We got a sampling of Guinness (4oz pour). They told us how to properly drink it- which is interesting because apparently I didn't know and it's a lot similar to whiskey, minus the swirling. At the end you have a voucher for a free pint (or soda). Disappointing since in European grocery stores there's many types of Guinness, so we expected that. Nope. Guinness and then other beers that the Guinness Co owns (such as Hop House Lager-which I love). At the tip top there's a 360 bar that lets you see Dublin 360....buuuut it's so crammed you can barely get a glance. And no one else up there seems to be looking. They're all just standing and talking and drinking. Oh well. At least I can say I went. FYI you can purchase additional drinks and can carry them around through out. read more

I'm reviewing both the Storehouse and the Connoisseur Experience, as that's what took up our entire day (and when I say "entire", I do mean "entire"; our plans to get out to play tourist in Dublin never materialized, as I barely got my husband out of the Storehouse in time to make our return flight.) Yes, we flew to Dublin specifically for the Connoisseur Experience, and I will tell you it was so very worth it. We got in early enough to explore a bit, and then went upstairs to grab a bite to eat before checking in for the VIP experience. The building is made up like a pint glass, with different things to do and experience on each level. There's one elevator, which gets very busy with tourists with pints. They don't like you taking beverages on their escalators, so that meant the elevator was even more packed. The lines were crazy, especially considering the stairwell was open and right around the corner. There's quite a bit of history provided on each level, as well as information on the brewing process, and what makes Guinness so delicious. The Connoisseur Experience was an add-on, but guaranteed you're in a small group of Guinness lovers (and one woman there just for her husband). After checking in, you're hustled into a small room with a bar and 16 seats. Our host for the night was Kevin, who was full of fun and funny stories, information and - most importantly - lots of yummy Guinness pours. We spent just over 2 hours in that room, monopolizing Kevin's time and the fridge. He taught us the differences between stouts and porters, and how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness. We were given the chance to pour our own perfect pints before we were shown out of the room to make way for the next group. After the Connoisseur Experience, we took our time wandering the other floors. We ended our Storehouse time in the store, spending way too much money, and picking up our pre-ordered engraved Guinness Pints before making our way back to the airport. read more

I was not sure about visiting Guinness, but I was staying in the neighborhood, and figured it was a good stop before seeing the rest of the city. I had so much fun here and highly recommend it. You can smell the storehouse before you can see it (in a good way!). The tour is self-guided, and I believe audio narration is available, though I didn't use it. This place is huge! Including lunch, I was here for almost four hours. I've done brewery tours before, but this was almost like a museum. I learned a lot about Guinness and Dublin, and it was really interesting. The tour included a tasting and a full pint, and an extra tasting because it was St. Paddy's. It was crowded, but not insane, and I didn't have to wait in line to enter. I loved the the top bar where you can get a great view of Dublin, and where I enjoyed my pint of the black stuff. And the only time I was able to get a sausage roll (so good) was here. A mixed bag of thoughts. I am torn on this "experience". It is a self guided tour and so it is up to you to learn everything you wanted to know about how Guinness is made. But I much prefer a person led tour so you can ask questions and get extra antidotes from the guide. The tour comes with a pint of beer per ticket and we opted to buy extra because of the promise of a bar up on top where you could see the entire surrounding area. The only issue is that there seems to be no crowd control and so it was almost no standing room in the bar areas while we were there. Also after learning about all the different variations of Guinness, we had hoped to try some of those outside the version you typically get at any pub. But they pretty much only offered the standard Guinness and also the Guinness water. I think people will want to go here because it is what you do when in Dublin. read more
