This Guitar Center in Huntsville, AL is BY FAR the absolute worst I've visited out of them all. It's not just one bad experience there....it has literally been an awful and angering experience EVERY time I've shopped there with the exception of one. The other issue is that they NEVER seem to answer their phones there when you call either. Just in the last two days and in the minutes preceding this comment I have tried to call repeatedly and it just rings and rings and rings. (This is of course AFTER the menu prompt and pressing 2 to speak with a Guitar Center Professional) There is nothing or noone professional at that store. My sister taught private clarinet and other horned instrument lessons at Hallman's for years and worked the retail side of the business for a year or so. Sister is a retired band director and a talented clarinetist. Hallman's is an authorized dealer for a variety of instruments, and offers private lessons, rental instruments and a small-ish retail are and private rooms on-site for the private lessons. Over the years, I've bought guitar strings, picks, and accessories as gifts for my brother and husband and when I realized my stepson had a decent trumpet and case that he was never going to use, it was Hallman's to the rescue! They cleaned and tuned the trumpet and whatever they do to the keys [replace the pads maybe?] and I think, replaced the mouthpiece. All for a reasonable price in a reasonable amount of time. In my cubefarm at the time, I was able to sell the refurbished trumpet to a colleague who was in need of one, making it a "win win" for all. Thanks Hallman's for being locally owned and locally operated for so long and for filling a need in the regional music scene!
