I'm from California and was looking for a specific model of a guitar that this Guitar Center location happened to have in stock. I sent a message through the GC website to this location to get some more information on the guitar since it was hard to tell exactly what the condition of the guitar was based on the photos. Their sales manager, Ben, emailed me back the same day and provided very detailed information about the condition of the guitar. He even included additional photos that were very clear and he indicated in the photos where there were any cosmetic imperfections on the guitar. Although I did not end up purchasing the guitar, I was extremely happy with Ben's customer service. He really went above and beyond. I walked into Guitar Center with a LTD which I bought about 3 years ago. Right now it goes for around $1,700 give or take. I figured they'd offer me somewhere close to what it's worth now (Used it still sell for about $1,200). They tried to give me $500 for it. I wanted this $700 PRS so bad that I said screw it and swapped it (They took it for $700, woohoo) for the PRS. I knew I could've easily gotten over a grand for it if I wanted to wait a few months online if I waited a few months for someone to even offer me something for it), but the LTD was just too thick and didn't feel right in my hands. I brought the PRS home and it was perfect. Easily the best Guitar I've played in my life. That said, they were complete asses and ripoffs. I understand trying to get a lower price on what you're buying if you can, but they tried to give me almost a quarter of what it's worth used, in which they eventually got the better deal ONLY because I wanted this guitar so badly and didn't want to wait. I hated dealing with the staff, they were terrible and I was probably in there for 2 hours standing there with my guitar. They did have some decent pricing instrument wise though all things considered. I'll never think of selling them anything again, but I may go in for a new guitar if I have the money or a setup. Still, if I can get something from somewhere else like Sweetwater, I'm definitely going that route. read more

This is a cool place for kids to get guitar lessons. My husband, daughter and I went in for a free lesson and we had fun. Andy was great with the kids. Lessons are cheap and place is huge. Had a good vibe!! read more

Brandyn (I believe that's how his name was spelled.) did an amazing job helping me learn about their guitars in the store. Their inventory was limited because of the holidays, so we ended up ordering offline instead. Brandyn allowed me to try the guitars as much as I wanted and he did a fantastic job making me feel comfortable, being a beginner. The owner here was not as warm, but was knowledgeable, I suppose. I bought a Martin acoustic, HPL guitar from this store...took it to Brooklyn where I split time with a NJ place. After a short time the high E string buzzed, couldn't get a note, most of the way up the neck, I planned to return the guitar but waited too long (past 45 days) I took the guitar back anyway to see if they could help me out, had been 2mths since purchase. The guitar tech - Bill looked at it and fixed the issues right away, couple adjustments to the saddle, no charge. The Brooklyn place is super dry, it caused the problem even though I had an insert humidifier in the guitar. I also thought the HPL wouldn't be impacted by the dryness, that's false. Bill also took the time to give me some helpful tips to prevent the issue in the future. I already screwed up a Gibson acoustic by leaving it in the apt in the winter. Anyhow, I went to the store, knowing the issue was probably my fault, they helped me out anyway. Thanks guys! read more

Probably some of the worst customer service I've ever received. My boyfriend and I went in there so he could grab a simple keyboard case. I assume the customer before us was splitting his payment between cash and card and it confused the sales associate Kevin. So while waiting for his manager, Kev completely ignored us. We stood in front of the counter for 20 mins before my bf finally interjected and asked him for help. Then, in the middle of answering us, he gets on the phone. Manager walked in twice and saw us standing there and never offered help. We just walked out. What a waste of time. If you know what you need, order it online somewhere else. read more

I will never spend a penny here again . Employees are allowed to talk to and treat customers as crappy as they want . Have dealt with general rude behavior / bullying/ judging at this location on multiple occasions , the last time being when I went to purchase a Vox amplifier . Not happy . I have been a dedicated customer here for many years , now I will only support small mom and pop guitar shops . So angry and disgusted . Hope the manager sees this . read more

Good store. Large selection of guitars and basses and a very nice closed playing room for the acoustic guitars. The staff are usually very good, helpful when needed but otherwise comfortably detached. ;) One star deducted for occasionally very slow checkout service. read more

Wow. After looking on the Guitar Center website and then heading there this afternoon--not what I expected. After a thirty minute drive I arrived to abhorrently dismal and apathetic customer service. I was there to buy an electric guitar amp and told the associate so. Also was interested in the no interest finance they offered. I explained that I had gotten an electric guitar as a present, and wasn't sure what I wanted or needed and wanted to spend around 500 bucks. That I needed some help and guidance. An unknowledgeable associate and more concerned after four minutes about "going to the back to check on something" made for an uncomfortable visit and waste of a drive to the store. At one point she says "let me know if need anything else" then smiled and left. Really? How about some help picking out the amp I told you I was there to spend around 500 bucks on. Associate disappeared. Total time in store less than 10 minutes. Packed up my guitar and left. Guitar Center should be embarrassed to have this type of service in their stores. I wound up elsewhere nearby. Found exactly what I wanted and then some, helped by someone who took some time to explain a few Amps. Terrible for a "nationwide chain with music experts". Guitar center is BULLSHIT...I bought 2 items WITH CASH and both of those items did not work....I was given 2 separate checks as a refund...I PAID CASH!!!!! And I was given 2 CHECKS!!!! Checks cost money to cash $7 a check!!! Nowhere on this receipt does it say that refunds will be given in the form of a check....I called the "corporate office" which is not the corporate office it's the .com...screening the calls for corporate!!!! The only resolution this company has come up with is to call the store and have them write me 1 check!!!! I PAID CASH!!! So now you want to have me drive all the way back to your store wasting gas and time and more money both ways to get 1 check WHEN I PAID CASH!!! Everyone that I spoke to in the process has had an idgf attitude and a bunch of huffs n puffs n smart ass remarks...Do not buy anything from guitar center....spend your money somewhere it's deserved!!!! read more

I had an issue with a item I purchased that did not work properly. They promptly gave me a refund even though the original box was not in good shape. The staff is very nice and helpful. DEFINITELY recommend! read more
