I had a great experience at Guitar Center thanks to Adam. He really took his time to help me out and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers, and he always had a smile on his face, which made the whole experience even better. It's rare to find someone that patient and knowledgeable, and it definitely didn't go unnoticed. On top of that, knowing he's in a band makes it even cooler--he clearly has real passion for music. So I buy a new guitar with a Floyd Rose shimlow system I take it to the guitar tech it Fairmont when I take it to him the tremolo is floating level after he works on it it's all the way down half of the action is lost I have to go to the Webster or clear lake guitar center to get with a guitar tech that actually knows what he's doing working on your guitar and when the kid was working on my guitar on Fairmont he didn't care about scratching my guitar he could care less it was brand new it was one day old when I took it to him scratching the guitar that wasn't even on his radar I have never had a more unprofessional experience anywhere I suggest if you need to have your guitar worked on take it to the clear lake store cuz the guitar tech there seems to know what's going on I actually left Fairmont after the guitar tech messed up my trim low and drove to the clear lake store and I got the guy on the phone he was like yeah I could take care of that took it to him within 20 minutes he had my guitar correctly adjusted but it didn't change the fact that I drove to two different stores and I actually went to the Fairmont store the day I got the guitar but the guitar tech wasn't there anyways it was a horrible experience and I suggest you never take your guitar to get worked on by this kid read more

My initial disclaimer is that sadly I am not a musician. I mean I am so bad that even my dreams of being one always become a nightmare. This location is off a main road here in Pasadena, TX. I knew that this was going to be a cool place when I saw a life sized poster of Eric Clapton. They had me!!!! I came to pick up a Fender 500 watt amp for my company. There was a young man on the phone at the front desk. I could hear that he was graciously helping another customer. This was not a personal call. His name was RJ. He was the most polite sales person in the entire universe. I really mean this. It was all yes sir, let me help you sir, can I please see some ID sir. He seemed very genuine and not a plastic robot. I placed an online order for a Squier bass and was shipped from California. I was informed that it was on the floor for customers to use and had some wear on it but was told that I could switch it out for a new one in Houston if I wasn't satisfied. Santiago greeted me and my family with great spirit and was more than happy to help! We took a look at the bass ordered online and asked if we would be able to switch it out and he said no problem. We found one that was better and started the refund process for store credit. Adam was also attending us and helping with the swap process and ended giving a 10% discount for the new bass missing some knobs, new bass being the last one in stock, and having a few scratches here and there! I'm just leaving a review cause there's like a lot of impatient a**h*le seeming types in the reviews. I've always had a good experience here. I'm in the music program at San Jac and sometimes need stuff for any of the 3 instruments I'm learning. Moderately ok selection. Their strings on guitars are in such disrepair to the point where it's impossible to even get an idea if some of the instruments are even good. It's also a rip how they only take like 20-50$ off msrp in the case of extreme damage to say the top, I think they even lied about some of the damage(looked like they just glued it back together. What's worse is their management verbally assaulted me and made up some conspiracy theory where I was telling people not to do business there or something. Like I'm a conservatory/professional level guitarist and I guess I cannot quietly try 2-3 guitars I have an eye on, nor can I recommend any guitars there to students in the area- Not going there again read more

I ordered a used item from the Pasadena store which was a nice pedal board including pictures of said pedal board AND an attached power supply. The order arrived with NO power supply which was likely half the value or more of the order, but ALL the cables for the power supply. I called the store thinking it was an innocent mistake and talked to a joke of a manager named MARTIN. After not getting anywhere, I then asked to speak to a manager and he even waited a second and then said, Um ok, hello, Yes what do you want? It was still him and he said I AM a manager. After pleading my case, he basically said Sorry, I guess there was no power supply and the pics OF THE USED GEAR must be incorrect..."you should just return it." But once you buy it, there are no pics that anyone can reference. I have the order number, the item number, everything. I would like GC to send me the POWER SUPPLY that I already paid for. I am extremely disappointed in Guitar Center, Martin the needs-to-be-retrained Manager, and this Pasadena location. Go somewhere else....at least a different GC location at a minimum. read more

I just wanted to make it known what my experience in the store in Pasadena on Fairmont. I have been here over a dozen times. I literally look and touch anything I can. No one and I mean not one person has ever even spoken to me. Not a hello not a see you later nothing. Until today a gentleman by the name of Leonard came to me in the keyboard room. He told me there giving a free few mins of lessons right now. I must of thrown 50 questions at him and shown him 5 of my songs. Not once did he rush me or treat me like anything other than a musician. It's nothing to anyone else but today was one of the worst days of my life until then. I can't change that I'm a skinny white guy who looks like a criminal but the saying goes never judge a book by its cover. A dozen times of spending hours in this store feeling like the guy they just know is a waste of there time. Please give this man the shout out and admiration he deserves. A 15 min conversation saved a life today literally. Thank u again Leonard for treating me like a human. read more

I ordered a used item that they had online. I called a few days later and was told by an employee that the really wished that they could have bought the item because they wanted it badly. Two days later they cancelled the order without calling me or telling me why the order was cancelled. When I called to ask why, I was told that the item was 'missing a part' so they couldn't sell it. I told them I was okay with it missing that part and would still like to purchase it, but they said I couldn't. Sure sounds like the employee just cancelled the order so they could buy it. I am so disgusted by this. Update: After being promised by multiple people that I would be contacted by both the store manager and the district manager of this store, I have heard nothing. Their response stating that they care is just a farce to make themselves look good in the public eye. I hope people think very hard before shopping here, or at any Guitar Center for that matter. This is a decent location with an ok selection of guitars. Salesmen were pretty damn pushy, but they were ultimately helpful.

Avoid the Pasadena store like the plague. It's run by a bunch of would be musicians who don't want to be there and think they are too good for the job. The customer service is non-existent. And the biggest joke of all is Lorenzo, the Manager. I did not get what I paid for and he's lied and was quite rude. When I tried to resolve the matter, he just said let's just get you out of here. I went to pick up something and all they did was piss me off. I regret all the business I've done w/ them and will never patronize any G.C. again. read more

I went here with My boyfriend, so he could get some strings for his guitar. Outside they had some karaoke going on for the Fourth of July and as soon as we walked in, we were greeted many times by the workers. They were so helpful and answered all of his questions about guitars, amps, strings and music in general. I truly felt like all of the workers were very knowledgable. The store is clean and cold, which is great with the Houston summer heat! If you need to go to a guitar center nearby, I highly recommend this one. They also have a huge parking lot with many spaces available. read more

This was probable one of the best customer service I have received in a while. What I enjoyed most about buying here was the fact that I can relate to the guys working there, because they all have some background with music which is extremely helpful! I went in there looking for speakers to record some music with my friends. My guard was up, because most people try to oversell. Worst service, worst attitude. I gave this store zero star since they have the worst service ever. I registered for guitar class and they did not ever mention there would be a deadline date for cancelling the renewal. Then, on that deadline date, I accidentally called them to cancel the renewal, they did not even tell me to come in person to fill in the cancellation form. They told me that I could come in whenever I have a guitar class. And two days later, when I went to my guitar class, no instructor showed up. They canceled all my current classes and refused to refund me the renewal fee for future class which cost me $247. The store manager Mike kept saying that the deadline date is was in the contract which was never given to me or told me in any ways. Mike and his employee name Lozander were so rude to me. They are trying to allure students to register classes without letting them know the deadline date for cancelling renewal and covering their backs to rip off my money. The guitar instructor here has nos preparation for his class. I learn very few from his classes. That is why I dont want to take more classes with them. Bad service, bad attitude, bad instructors. Be aware students. Ask them as detailed as possisble when you register. They always say cancelling anytime, any date to allure you into a renewal that you will never be refunded with a deadline date. read more

The GC rep seemed reluctant to answer our questions or just didn't know the answer. Didn't seem to want to find the answer and I had to push that he get them (Manager or someone else). Unlike the other Houston Stores and Los Angeles stores I didn't feel like they were happy I was there to spend money. When I approached the GC Rep later in the Acoustic room, his reaction was like, "Oh no! Not him again." I was polite. Not crowded at all. Older dudes spend money too and still perform. read more

I purchased a new Guitar online cost $500, then they approached and told me there is no more in the warehouse. what they have is the last one ,which is a display one.
