Beyond the fact that the staff seem to be in a constant state of caring more about pushing credit lines or making commission on volume, this location is tiny and emaciated. Honestly, just a horrible selection, horrible staff and get better off buying on Amazon or at least you won't get asked if you want a protection plan or credit line. Furthermore the employee slammed my headphones twice onto the counter post me actually having the funds removed from my account. Had to call corporate turns out he also just gave me a floor model and awesome he forgot my receipt! Corporate was amazing and made things right. This is a long read, but essential for me to vocalize. Far too often anymore I see people screwing people over and not being held accountable for their actions. I could imagine some young kid saving up for a NEW guitar only to be sold some old busted piece of shit. The attached pictures are what Chuck and his team in Port St. Lucie, Florida, say is new equipment and selling to customers. I placed a next-day air order for this guitar on 30 MAY 2023 at 11:30 pm PST, and I didn't receive the guitar until 06 JUNE 2023. The guitar has obnoxious signs of use and damage all over it. Here's a list of the damage. - chipped headstock tip. - semi-deep scratch horizontally across the face of the headstock - the guitar's neck is covered in sweat and grime from being played and not cleaned. The frets are tarnished from the filth. - the neck of the guitar was removed as the screws have visible signs of being poorly removed and replaced. Also, there is a visible gap between the guitar's body and neck. - the bridge Fishman fluence pickup has scratches on it. - the backside of the guitar has scratches all over it. I want Mike Splitt to contact me. If you know Mike, have him reach me here or tell him to check his messenger, as I've already messaged him. I want this shit operation fixed. Getting equipment out the door as advertised, quality control, and just giving a fuck should be a top priority. Furthermore, Chuck likes avoiding facing situations his shitty operation puts him in. The people at this location make it a good experience. Matt, Chuck, and the guys are both friendly and knowledgeable. I like to wander and not be annoyed by a hard-sell. Ask for help, you'll get it. Want to browse quietly? You'll be left alone. The sales staff here respects you. It's a small store, so if you're looking for a mega-selection, you'll be disappointed; however, they do ship guitars from other locations. The selection, while small, is varied. Many guitar brands are represented. Guitar Center's return policy is second to none, which is worth the prime prices you'll pay for instruments. While the sales and management shine, the setup technicians are less than stellar. I bought a new Stratocaster and got the "Platinum Setup." It was more "tin foil" than "platinum." I had to take it to a local pro luthier to get it right. I recommend taking your guitar elsewhere for setup and repair. read more

I walked in and stood by the counter while a gentleman tuned a guitar. He never acknowledged me (nor did the guy back by the "lessons" sign). After standing there for about a minute and a half, I decided to look around and see if I could find piano silencers in the store. I couldn't, so I went back to tuner guy at the counter and waited. He never said a word to me until another guy came out of the back with a guitar for another customer that was waiting. Then tuner guy asked if he could help me and I said I was looking for a upright piano silencer. He said he never heard of it. He checked his computer under "mute" and "silencer" (10 seconds) and found nothing. I started to explain that I had 3 different brands pulled up on my phone when, without a word, he turned from me, grabbed the guitar he had just tuned, and began a discussion with the guitar's owner who had just walked up. Of course, I walked out and I'll never walk back in. They don't deserve my $$$. read more

We've bought several guitars and had strings put on and George has helped us every time. He is so kind and always takes the time to clean the guitar and make it perfect. So, when this pandemic started, I knew I would be inside for a long time and decided to take up guitar. I bought a guitar online and needed to exchange it and where I live, in South Florida, the Guitar Center stores were still closed. This store in Port St.Lucie was open, so I drove up and had a great experience in exchanging the first guitar and buying the new one. THE BEST part was the setup, done by Johnny, who was amazing, engaging, friendly and since I had to go back to get it set up, the play of the guitar was much better than when I first took it home. (They couldn't do the setup the first day because I bought it right before they closed.) I love my guitar. read more

i went to guitar center at 5025 okeechobee blvd in west palm beach to sell or trade my gear mind you fairly new each unit i paid $1,299 x 4 units so the guy at the store offers me $550 for each unit less then half how dare he. i look in the show room and saw the same unit on displayed as mine use but appeared worn out compare to mine listed at $1,129 he tried to rip me off so folks i can truly tell you, they are worst then car dealers big rip off. so i left with my equipment and will sell on market place no time for greediness. won't ever shop at this store or online. read more

Guitar Center is a great place for beginners. Anything a beginner could possibly need. Matt and Chuck are both very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They respect you 100%. It's a small store in Port St. Lucie, so if you're looking for a bigger selection, it might not be the store for you. I'm a touring musician in from Chicago and I had an issue with a brand new PA bought from this location that wouldn't turn on. Unfortunately, I hadn't accounted for the lost time and was nearly late to the wedding ceremony. In the midst of my stress, my associate sped back to GC to exchange the unit and the MGMT (& Chuck) was incredibly helpful and provided a replacement and even offered shipment to my home address. We bought the Chord Buddy advertised as a Guitar Learning System. When we got home we realized that it in no way teaches you how to play the guitar. The very next day I went back to return the item and was told it was non-returnable because there is a book and DVD in the the box. They wouldn't allow a credit to the store either. Very poor customer service. The item itself is advertised incorrectly and good customer service skills would include a comment at purchase "This item is non- returnable". We were purchasing an $1200 BOSE system this week but will now take our business elsewhere. Very disappointed. read more

Actually 1/2 a star. I am retired. I signed up for two months of keyboard/piano lessons on a new student promotion -- 4 one hour lessons for the price of 3. Instructor and Guitar Center turned out to be a disappointment. First, the store was out of stock with its GC "learning piano" book. The instructor photocopied a handful of pages for me from other books GC had for sale. It was not until the fifth lesson that I was told the lesson book would be in the store the following week. Two, the instructor was not punctual and started each lesson not on the hour but 10-11 minutes late and finished 5 minutes before the hour. Three, the instructor actually came to one lesson ill from a cold/cough instead of rescheduling my lesson. Fourth, the instructor did not prepare a "lesson plan" but on 2 occasions asked me (a beginner) what I wanted to do this time. The lessons seemed unconnected and without continuity. Fifth, the instructor showed me some chords on two lesson but gave me no songs in which they appeared so that I could practice them. Sixth, the instructor did nothing to develop my right and left hand independence. Seventh, the digital piano provided at the lesson was a beat up out-of-date model from Casio in which the white keys wobbled. Adding to this, the lesson studio was a mere 25 sq. ft (5' x 5') and the piano, bench and instructor's chair took up more than half the space. The room was dimly lit with a low wattage recessed overhead light and so dark that it was difficult to read the sheet music. . . .not even a basic piano light! The lessons grew less beneficial each time. After my fifth lesson, I cancelled the remaining 3 lessons since I sensed that it was a waste of my time and found a more effective instructor elsewhere. GC's management would not even issue me a "store credit" for my three unused lessons ($112.50) and told me that no credit would be issued for store merchandise but that I was, however, free to schedule my remaining pre-paid lessons. Live and learn. Don't waste your time and money with GC's piano lessons. The instruction proved disappointing. Instead, invest in a local, reputable instructor. I cannot recommend Guitar Center (PSL) for piano lessons. read more

I ordered a acoustic guitar from this store 1 month ago, and I have still not received my guitar. I have not been contacted by the manager about this situation even though the sales reps keep telling me that he will be contacting me. I have called customer service and this store keeps dodging my issue over and over. This guitar costed me $400 and they are refusing to refund my money because I don't have the guitar to return(since it never arrived)If this post is up then the issue has not been corrected. Guitar center doesn't help people like they used to, the guys at Sam ash have offered to give me a discount for guitar centers lack of customer service. Which is more then Guitar center has offered to fix on this issue. Long story short if you order a instrument from this store don't expect it to arrive, also don't expect a refund even though you never received your product. Lots of smiles with no solutions. Update I called today and was told that the manager is on emergency leave and that I would need to wait another week. Just wondering if he has been on leave since last month when this issue began. This has already been reported to the BBB and I'm starting to think I need to get my money from my bank under terms of fraud protection. Update: I talked with Brad whom seemed really nice like most guitar center employees. He says that he could help get things moving and that he would be in contact with me. I just purchased an audio interface, The Focusrite, because the salesman named Matt recommended it over the presonnus. The Focusrite was twice the cost. I purchased it over what i originally wanted because he said that I got a free version of pro tools, Well that version of pro tools is free. You can get it anytime for anything. I was livid when i found this out. So i wanted to return the item, when I called to ask about the policy on that item, they said I couldn't return it because I downloaded the free software. Stay away from Guitar Center they are the evil empire. I had several bad experiences over the years, I thought to give them a chance again. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

I took my nephew to guitar center to shop for a new guitar as his skills have developed to the next level, and he was ready to move up in instrument quality. We met Joe and expressed what my nephew was interested in so Joe went through each guitar in that category, its specifications and components, and finish options available. The guitar we really wanted to test drive was not available in any local Guitar Center so we had to order it via the web-site. Considering the time Joe took with us and we did not even buy a guitar from him that day proved how Guitar Center would rather you get what you really want instead of pushing you to buy what was in the store at the time was impressive. We ordered a brand new Epiphone Les Paul Tribute 1960 that had the case included and had it shipped to the store. We were updated by the web-site email notifications, and as soon as the guitar arrived, Joe informed us, then waited for me to arrive at the store and opened it up for inspection. I was so impressed with the desire these guys have to see a happy customer, I went in a week later and bought a couple more guitars for myself. I have been a loyal customer to Guitar Center for years now, and I could not imagine going anywhere else period.
