Friendly staff, the decore is nothing special but they have good authentic Mexican food and quick service.

Love this place! Can't stop raving about it. Steak tacos and fried jalapeños are my absolute favorite.

The salsa is was excellent upon sitting at the table. For me, the salsa makes it breaks the restaurant. I ordered chicken fajitas poblano for dinner. It's covered with yellow queso and was the best fajitas I've had in a long time. The rice and refried beans were just ok, nothing to rave about. I really hate to give a restaurant a 1 star rating. I wanted to give it 2, but then I saw the phrase "Meh" associated with a 2 star rating. "Meh" suggests that you could take it or leave it and frankly, I would never take Guitarras again. Today I visited this restaurant because I found out La Bamba was closed. It sits in the corner of a strip mall in a Publix parking lot. When you walk in, you will note that tables are crammed close together and half of the guest area is on a riser for a yet unknown reason and to get to it, you simply go up two shallow steps flanked by rickety handrails, which could cause much more harm than help. The whole thing looks like a construction project that quickly got out of hand and someone gave up on it. Undaunted by the "ambiance," I decided to order a pick 3 so I could get a taste for a few of the different items the restaurant had to offer. First off, the menu is completely benign anyway, so I didn't feel like I was missing anything by simply ordering a cheese enchilada, a chili relleno, and a tamale. What I received was a tiny enchilada that looked like it came directly out of the freezer aisle at Kroger (I'm thinking this was a reject from a Swanson's), a chili relleno that was not completely cooked, and a tamale about a fourth the size of the ones that I used to get at La Bamba. The whole mess was covered in an orange enchilada sauce that looked like it was poured straight from a can. Then again, it's probably cheaper if you buy it in bulk, so I could easily imagine a scenario in which they're in the back pumping this mess out of a 55 gallon drum. This place is about as authentic as your favorite Kardashian...or Jenner for that matter. I have never in my life described Taco Bell as Mexican food, but I would gladly eat there a hundred times before I would eat at Guitarras again. To call this Mexican food would be calling Kraft Singles on white bread with ketchup a pizza. I simply don't understand some of the positive reviews for this restaurant. The patrons who wrote them must think that ball park nachos are a delicious Mexican treat. I absolutely mean no offense, but I would beg those diners to broaden their culinary horizons. Some people like that fresh from the microwave taste and are too lazy to heat up the TV dinner for themselves. If you're one of them, then this restaurant may be for you. But, if you have taste buds and enjoy nice things, then I would suggest eating at any Margarita's, any El Sombrero, hell even any Taco Bell - pretty much anywhere else. read more

I went there and waited for service for 30 minutes. Then I ordered and 1.5 hours went by and when the food came it was wrong. My server didn't care. He said "they were backed up and swamped." I was disappointed. I left without fussing because I was too hungry to fuss. I left and went elsewhere. I hope this wasn't because of the color of my skin because I did read where they did a previous black person like this. I hope and pray they treat patrons of color better. I won't be returning there but I do hope they do better in the future. read more

After several visits to enjoy their margaritas I finally tried their food and was very impressed however, their service was absolutely horrific. I sat at the bar and waited nearly 10 minutes for someone to notice that I was there and found out that there was no bartender. The wait staff kept coming up and fixing drinks for their tables but did not even as much acknowledge me. Once I finally was able to order I received my food but had to ask for utensils. No one ever checked on me to see if the food was okay (it was very tasty by the way) or if I needed anything not even a drink refill. Had to flag someone down to tell them that I was done and ask for the check. Unless they make some changes you will not see me visiting again. Servers need to get lessons on how to be friendly if they are going to be in the service industry. read more

Amazing!! Service was good even though they are understaffed, our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and offered some great insights and recommendations. The chips and salsa that you start out with were very good, the salsa had a good spice level. I had the shredded chicken chimichangas and they were delicious! The chicken was a little dry but the cheese helped balance everything. My brother had the enchiladas aztecas and said the flavor was amazing. My dad had the carne asada and was extremely impressed with the quality of the food. He claims it was his favorite dish from any mexican restaurant. It was served with a whole jalapeño and onions. Good food. Fast service and good wait staff. No AC, restaurant is thrown together with 5 kinds of flooring, wobbly tables. Nobody seems to know who is doing what so lots of overlap and confusion. Clear direction and putting a little money back into restaurant would go a very long way. read more

Only came here once but the food was okay. I think it tasted more authentic than the local competitors but I don't like the space. Part of the whole experience of going out to eat is altered by ambiance...It definitely feels like youre crammed into the booths, the lighting is too dim and the restaurant oiled use a makeover. This place was wonderful. We stopped in Macon on our way to FL from Chicago. We got into town late, and there were crazy waits at the typical chain restaurants. We ended up seeing it randomly in the shopping plaza and decided to try it. They sat our party of 5 right away. Chips and salsa were great and everyone licked their plate clean. So glad the other places had long lines. Their food was authentic and tasty. Service was attentive - i think we had 3 rounds of chips and salsa. Food totally hit the spot.
