Oliver's was a recommendation from a local. Glad we decided to listen. Cute warm and homey atmosphere. It had a nice lunch crowd even though it was pouring rain. Seated immediately and drink order was taken. We started with the sweet potato fries which were delicious. For lunch I ordered theTCB melt with fries, my husband order the salmon with broccoli and pasta salad. ( he was not a fan of the salad) and my son had the chicken fettuccini with pesto. My son's meal came out wrong (a sandwich) it happens but I felt bad eating while he waited. Overall it was a wonderful experience and would dine there again. Best corner bistro in Macon. Serving for both Lunch and Dinner. For app starters try the sweet potato fries. Our main course consisted of; 1. Excellent sweetened Salmon garnished with brussel spouts and pasta salad 2. Pesto chicken fettuccine - cooked perfectly 3. Turkey melt with a side of fries. I was very underwhelmed by this restaurant. I did not have a bad experience but everything seemed mediocre. The service was fine, the food is good and the restaurant was well decorated and clean. The staff did not present well and this restaurant could have some class. After a short but considerable wait on a table, we were given the opportunity to sit at one of the tables in the bar area. A party left just ahead of us sitting down and the staff failed to thoroughly clean the dining area. My wife and I both ordered a sandwich with fries and a small salad. Complete assumption on our part but we prefer that a salad comes prior to a meal...but this is on us for not asking. All of the food was exactly as we ordered. They serve large portions here. RUN, do not walk to Oliver's. We randomly stopped for the night in Macon and yelped where to go. Ok so Oliver's got top rating, let's try it out. The $40 ribeye is worthy of double to triple the price. I'm from Charleston and this beats out steakhouses there. Service is amazing as well. Aidan is unbelievable!!! Attended a Christmas Celebration with Forever Diamonds last week, and my First Experience with Oliver's was outstanding. Everyone and everything was great. The atmosphere was perfect as downtown Macon at this corner at Popular and 2nd Street is an absolute pleasure to visit. The Bloody Mary spicy was great. Our table service team did an excellent job. What an amazing place... After visiting another place that appeared to be out of business, I decided to drive to downtown to try Oliver's corner bistro. Being that I was dining by myself, I chose to sit at the bar. Brooklyn, the bartender/server, was friendly, attentive, and very personable. I wasn't super hungry, so I decided to try the tomato bisque soup and the pesto cheese bread starter. Both tasted fresh and very flavorful. It tasted a little like a high-end, deconstructed grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. While I was enjoying my food at the bar, Brooklyn told me about other menu items, including some from the Saturday and Sunday brunch menu. First time in Macon and heard I had to visit Oliver's and it did not disappoint! The staff was extremely pleasant and ensured we were enjoying our time. The food was fabulous! We tried the sweet frites, cheese & bread plate, rabbit risotto special, bolognese rigatoni, NY steak, and bourbon salmon. The meatloaf was the ultimate comfort food, and the filet mignon special was outstanding--truly incredible flavor and possibly the best filet we've ever had. The place was busy with a couple of large groups at one table. The kitchen was cranky out food, though. We had little lag time between ordering and eating. My bestie and I have made Oliver's our favorite lunch spot, at least twice monthly, We always try to eat outside, street noise not bad at all and it's just more fun out there. They're super attentive to our every need, and oh my (!) what delish food they have!! The super salads are so fresh with high quality ingredients, chicken so tender and tasty, and if you can splurge, calorie-wise, the Reuben sandwich cannot be beat. I take half of mine home for supper that night, and it's still so great. Maconites should be proud of this wonderful place to enjoy fabulous food, sweet staff and an environment that's super cool. Loved my visit here!! This is a cute local spot in the downtown area that is excellent. We came right before brunch ended and the entire team provided excellent service. The food was very flavorful. The popular items were the bourbon glazed salmon and the shrimp and grits. Both were very delicious! We also ordered some bread that came with some sort of pesto butter that was very tasty. I loved the chill vibe in the restaurant--lots of trendy decor. The bathrooms were well maintained and clean. Parking was relatively easy despite being in a downtown area on a busy day. I'm not certain but I think that may be a garlic parmesan butter that was included as a condiment. I put it in my whipped potatoes and boy oh boy. It tastes so divine y'all. Visiting Macon for the first time? Try this for one of your meals. The place is often packed specially inside. Good thing they have outdoor seating to accommodate more guests. Just fan the flies away. The food were mostly good specially the wonton nachos which can be considered a meal. I think the serving of the pasta though is too little, same with the kids steak. This quaint little bistro shop in Macon Georgia was absolutely amazing! It is located in downtown Macon, and you can sit outside and even take your dog with you or you can go inside. The premises are immaculately clean, including the bathroom, which is always a plus! Our server was named Taylor and she was just amazing! My guest had special dietary needs and she never acted like it was a bother to check on it and got back with us in all cases! Our food was simply a salmon salad, but when I tell you, that was the best salmon salad I've ever had. It was amazing dressings are made on the premises. We tried a pickled dressing, and we tried a green dress and also a honey vinaigrette, they were all delicious. It was so delicious that we decided to have another salad for dessert! I am between a three and a half and four on this spot. We were driving home to Jacksonville from visiting family north of Atlanta and used Yelp to find great brunch spots in Macon. This one was number one. After calling and speaking to a very nice young man, we were set for our reservation in an hour and fifteen minutes. Timing was spot on. We found a parking spot a few blocks away and were immediately seated. They have several spaces inside that are in three different rooms and outdoor patio seating. We were seated in the back room and I think I would have preferred a front room that allowed for more people watching/interaction. We had already looked at the menu on the drive down and were pretty set on our choices. The only question was appetizer or not? We went for the sweet frites appetizer and it was really good. Sweet potato fries cooked perfectly drizzled with balsamic glaze then topped with blue cheese crumbles and basil. Really good! Hubby had the pancake breakfast that was served with two pancakes, two eggs, bacon strips and fresh fruit. He thought it was OK, but not great. Eggs were dry. Pancakes were too thick and also dry. Bacon and fruit were fine. I ordered the French toast breakfast but because I don't eat meat asked for the candied bacon on the side. The first few pieces of French toast were black and burnt. I pushed those aside and found some that were edible, but pretty sad dish. No fruit, nothing but pieces of French toast that were over cooked. I had a signature cocktail called the sangrini and that was very good. Our server was nice but didn't check in much and the kitchen should not have served that French toast. Brunch is your standard fare. A cute spot but a little lacking on our visit. It was busy so I would suggest reservations. read more
