Everything here was delicious and gluten free (with many lactose-free options). My partner and I came here several times while staying in Barcelona: for brunch, to get sandwiches to go and for dessert cakes. The staff were very friendly and patient when we ordered in (not-so-good) spanish. They even politely corrected our spanish (in spanish) to help us out. The place has some seating inside and outside. I liked this place enough to go by here a couple times. Being an entirely gluten-free cafe it's definitely not cheap ( €1.5 tea cookies anyone?), but delicious. We tried a few cakes and were not disappointed. The cheesecake was everyone's favorite, light and fluffy and just sweet enough. The carrot cake was a bit dry, but tasty. Tiramisu was great! My personal favorite was lemon merengue pie. They also offer fresh juices, and Detox was both filling and tasty. I was not impressed with Purple Rain - the beets didn't get blended well enough, and the drink was very watery. It seemed like the lady preparing it was in a rush. For €4 I expected more. The place is open 9-9 every day, but after 8:30 it's take out only. They have a good wifi signal, which makes it a great spot to relax and catch up. read more

After traveling through extraordinarily delicious France, and watching me gobble everything in sight, my wife nearly came to tears when she saw this delightful, gluten-free cafe. The baguette sandwiches are excellent, she tells me. I prefer the delicious shortbread cookies, lemon pie, apple tart and, especially my favorite, the carrot cake which is mostly carrot and walnuts and gooey goodness than cake. Wish I found this place a lot sooner because damn, it is good. They have a fantastic gluten free selection of both sweet and savory treats that range from gluten free to vegan/gf, and I believe when I was there last they had a raw option. My favorite thing to get is their bocadillos, it's every bit of wonderful as the traditional and easy sandwiches they sell all over, but without the gluten - a plus seeing as most gluten free bread I've had in Spain has been of similar texture and taste to cardboard. A lifesaver for gluten free breakfasts and desserts! Breakfast on-the-go was the only meal I somewhat struggled to find gluten-free in Barcelona. Enter Gula Sana! The location is perfect, right near the bus station and Arc Di Triomf metro station in case you're going anywhere. It's also ~12 minute walk from Sagrada Familia if I remember correctly. I got a bikini (ham and cheese sandwich) one day and some kind of egg sandwich the next. They were both toasted and super delicious! The coffee was also better here than most coffee I tried in Barcelona and they have a variety of milks. Super friendly service too! read more

Not gonna waste your time with some long, ridiculous, meandering review about the first time I apparently ever tasted shotrbread and how I discovered I can't eat gluten. No one cares. Gluten-free bakery here, and ITS DELICIOUS. My fellow allergy heads know how incredible that is. And reasonably priced, with wifi, and coffee. This is a delicious gluten-free and allergy-aware bakery. I used Gula Sana to create the gluten-free tier of my wedding cake, since the venue where I was hosting my wedding dinner and reception refused to accommodate me or the other 6 guests' celiac's disease. That is another review! So, during my brief trip to Barcelona in March I tried a few GF bakers and really loved the red velvet cake I tried from Gula Sana. It did not taste overly fibrous or healthy, it was delicious! For our wedding, my husband wanted a black forest cake and the baker, Aurora, did a wonderful job matching the decoration and flavor of the cake to the one our venue was creating so that they not disconnected, but from the same baker. It was a cake with a chocolate ganache, fresh cream and berries. Our guests and I loved not feeling deprived as the other guests enjoyed their cake! Also, I bought a few other baked goods for my mom and I to eat for breakfast. They were delicious. I cannot wait to return to Barcelona to eat at Gula Sana :) Esta es una deliciosa panadería sin gluten, con mucha conocimiento de otras alergias y enfermedades dietéticas.
