This is the second time that we cleared our schedules and have waited at home all day only for the technician to either not show at all Or come so late at night that he was not able to do anything and had to come back the next day. Charged $111.50 to tell me that my coils were dirty, then proceeded to quote me a price of $650 for the cleaning in ADDITION to the initial "diagnostic" fee, for a total of $761. I paid the technician the $111.50 and declined the repair based on this quote. Immediately called another company whom I had dealt with in the past, and they are sending a tech out - free diagnostic check and a quote of $200 less for the cleaning than what Gulf Coast was trying to charge. Complete ripoff. I'm can't speak on the quality of their work, but these kinds of pricing tactics just lost me as a customer. Gulf Coast Air Systems? Nope. read more

The ac work was okay. Very cost efficient for the service rendered. They are their own worst critic when it comes to job inspection, they did fix all of the damage they causes along with the AC installation. If you purchase through home depot I would expect some issues making sure the financing is set to the correct terms, but they were able to get that resolved in a timely manner. Gulf Coast Air Systems Inc. This company engineered the air system for my new house and we are in the house now for one year. I have had about 9 service calls because of the zone system they installed has not worked properly nor was it designed properly. During the install, a number of issue arose: 1. They had put the thermostat behind one door and I had to have them move it. 2. They covered my attic access with duct work and had to come back and rerun the duck work. 3 They did a poor job of wiring the zone valve, so bad, that when wires were moved it cause the fuse to blow. 4. Two of the zone valve motor had to be replaced because of the improper engineering of the system. 5. When the zone valves were replaced cable ties or mastic (sp) was not used. 6. Exhaust fan thermostat was hooked up backwards. 7. There engineer had been out over a month ago and decides they had to put a bypass in, I'm still waiting. 8. I could go on, but you get the picture. Really, if your dumb enough to hire this company after all of this, you will deserve what you get. read more

Unfortunately, at this point, we can not give a positive review. After interviewing a few different A/C companies we decided on Gulf Coast because we found them on Angie's list and because Steve, their salesman, seemed like a genuine and knowledgeable man. We did our install on the 11th of November 2014. We chose a Carrier unit. Well, here we are on March 15th, 2015 four service calls later and one failed inspection and we still do not have any resolution. Each technician that has come out to the house says something entirely different than the last and each has a different solution that will "100% fix the problem." Clearly, that has not happened. Our neighbors complain that the unit makes excessive noise outside at all hours of the night and last night, despite running for four hours straight, it was unable to move the temperature in the house from 72 to 70! Beyond disappointed in the customer service and handling of our situation. The owner, Bob, has left us questioning our decision to choose them and put our trust in the fact that he said we needed to go a half ton smaller than the unit we replaced. Save yourself the headache and money and utilize another company! read more

Gulf Coast Air Systems handled the remodel of our home in Lutz. They redesigned the duct system and then performed the work. They also handled the relocated dryer venting and kitchen exhaust for our gas range. After the construction was over, they cleaned the ducts. I have been without air for the past week. Gulf Coast Air was referred to me by my warranty service provider. I explained to the representative of my situation of 95 degree heat inside my house all while having construction going on. Because of past multiple calls with getting the warranty approval and finding an authorized dealer, I called Gulf Coast every 2 -3hours to make sure they were getting the information they needed. Now I'm fully aware that I'm not the only customer dealing with heat and A/C issues in Tampa Florida. My disappointment is when I made my last call to check in, the rep nonchalantly tells me oh I don't have 2 technicians and I wont be able to get anyone there until late next week. No alternate suggestions, no sense of urgency expressed, nothing. read more

Mike Hackett was awesome today. Very courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Called ahead to let me know he was on the way and got here when he said he would. Within minutes he knew what the problem was and got right to work fixing. The office answering service was great when I called over the weekend and they had the technician call me back within the hour. Today the office called to say that they could make it earlier than originally scheduled which was great. We have used Gulf Coast in the past and would certainly do so again. I don't normally post reviews but I had such a great experience with Gulf Coast Air Systems that I felt compelled to share my experience with everyone! I started having problems with the A/C and found myself without an A/C company because the one who installed my unit recently went out of business. I didn't know who to call and had a friend of a friend who does A/C repair come to check the unit. He replaced our mother board and said I'd also need the heating strip replaced. An hour after he left the air when out again. The tech came back out and couldn't figure out the problem and said he would Google the issue and that's the last I heard of him. I started searching online for a new A/C company and came upon Gulf Coast Air Systems. I read about them online before deciding to give them a call. I am so glad they are the company I called! Service tech Homero came to my home and in no time and he quickly diagnosed the problem which was my thermostat. He also said it's the reason why my heating strip wasn't working. Once he replaced the thermostat our home started cooling down instantly. From the time I picked up the phone to Homero coming to my home, my experience with Gulf Coast Air Systems was professional, courteous and efficient. I'm an extremely satisfied customer and I'm happy to have found my new A/C company! read more
