Progressive Air Systems installed the HVAC system in my brand-new construction home, and the system has had serious temperature imbalance issues since move-in. Within the first month, my daughter's bedroom was consistently overheating (78-80°F) while the thermostat was set to 71°F. A service visit was performed, but the issue was never fully resolved -- it was only temporarily adjusted. Now, during cold weather, the same room has the opposite problem and is significantly colder than the rest of the house. I have documented large differences in supply vent temperatures on the same system (ranging from the low 70s°F to around 90°F), uneven airflow, and wall temperatures in the mid-60s°F while the thermostat reads 67°F. This clearly points to an HVAC distribution or balancing issue (ductwork, dampers, airflow, or insulation), not a thermostat or "weather" issue. The system produces heat, but it is not being delivered evenly throughout the home. For a new construction installation, this should not be happening. I am currently pursuing a warranty service request and hope this can be properly evaluated and corrected rather than temporarily adjusted again. I'm sharing this review so other homeowners are aware and so the company takes these issues seriously. read more

Amazing customer service! Called and a person answered right away! We tried to replace our thermostat on a Sunday and blew a fuse, and they came out a couple hours later to fix it. An extra $50 for a Sunday call but worth it to have working a/c. Very nice person that came out, knowledgeable and explained everything to us. Used this company for 20 years. Recently bought a new AC unit from them. They did something wrong installing it. It has not worked correctly since day one. That was 3 months ago. They have been out about 20 times since them because it freezes up and does not cool home. I have the ten year warranty and they still have not fixed it. They are coming out again tonight. I have missed work for several days due to the same issue since installation. It is a shame. Not sure what has changed with this company. Very sad. read more

Progressive was chosen by my homes builder to install the carrier AC (which was half the size it should've been based on sq ft). They did an appalling job with parts beginning to fail in the first year (thankfully DR Horton warranty covered). Now 1.5 years old the system has suffered catastrophic failure requiring a repair that costs almost $900 in labor alone AFTER manufacturer warranty on parts. One of the most reputable local companies had their owner and president sign a letter stating the problems were caused by improper installation. Progressive refuses to stand behind it's work. Meanwhile my 8 month old pregnant wife is at home with temperatures exceeding 83 daily until replacement parts arrive. Completely unacceptable. Will never even consider using them for even the most trivial task again. read more

I used to use Progressive Air and no one else. They used to be amazing. A few years ago my a/c went out and of course it was in a Saturday night. Called the 24 emergency service and got the run around about how it was getting to late in the day. So I called another company and not only did they come out but the technician drove to my New Port Richey home from St Pete at 11:30pm, put a "band aid" on it to get me through the weekend until I could set up a time to get a new unit installed (mine was over 16 years old). Fast forward to 2022 .... Different house.... A/C is out. Like a dummy I gave Progressive Air another chance. Saturday 6pm and it's too late the technician is too busy. Guess what?! I called another company, they are coming out and if I have to replace this 13 year old a/c... the other company is getting my business. read more

Just had a new A/C system installed. Bobby was our installer and he was wonderful. Came bright and early and went to work. He was very personable and friendly and took the time to answer all my questions. Finished the job, cleaned up and helped me return everything that I moved in the garage to give him access. Highly recommend Bobby and Progressive. Another plus was that every other company I spoke with said it would be at least September before they could get the equipment. The absolute worst company I have ever had the displeasure to employ. I wrote a review a few months ago regarding this company. I explained in my earlier review their lack of initiative in contacting me to complete their installation of a new air conditioning system. Here is an update. It took over 4 months to get my system's installation approved by Pasco County. The system was removed and reinstalled 4 times before they got it right. After each reinstallation an appointment was made with the County Building Inspector. It failed 3 out of 4 times. After the fourth inspection it finally passed. I lost 8 days of work because I had to be at home for each reinstallation and inspection. They sent me an apology for my inconvenience with a $50 gift certificate. Let's see...I lost approximately $1280 income for $50...hmmm. Now it's August 23rd. I came home from work to an inside the house temperature of 86 degrees. The system stopped functioning while I was at work. I contacted Progressive Air to get them to come and fix it. I was told that it would cost over $200 for the repairman to come and get my AC working because the system was installed on May 31st and the 1 year warranty has expired. I explained that the initial installation was on May 31st but it did not pass inspection until late September or early October. That did not matter because their records indicate an installation date of May 31st. I told them that if I have to pay them any money to repair their error, I would prefer to spend my money with Bayonet AC and Plumbing or McWilliams &Son. Please be forewarned. I cannot express the anger and frustration I experienced dealing with Progressive Air. I hope you heed my warning so you do not have to go through the experience I have and will continue to have because I made the worst possible decision in my life. I contracted Progressive Air Systems to install a new Carrier AC System in my house. This won't be over until I sell this house or pay a reputable company another $6000 to install a different system. read more

That last part is the most important in my opinion. I'd discovered this company over 6 years ago when my a/c system failed and I was scrambling to find a replacement. I extensively researched many different companies and read many professional and customer reviews. I also checked out companies on Angie's List and Home Advisor. After many website views, phone calls, and at-home interviews with potential companies, I decided on Progressive Air because I was impressed with their company, policies, attitude, and people, and the representative I met with (Troy Simpson) was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, and demonstrated a pride in his company that came across to me in a very personal way. He took the time to listen to me and answered all of my questions, even though he knew I was still shopping for a new a/c company and system. After our meeting, he kept in touch to check back with me to see if he could help with anything. It was at that moment when I scraped all my notes and comparison spreadsheets and decided to take a chance with Progressive Air Systems. To this day I stand by my decision and am glad it was a right choice for me as they continue to be my go-to for all my a/c needs. They continue to surprise me with their technicians too with their level of courtesy and concern they exhibit with each visit. "We knew what to expect with our yearly A/C system inspection and refresh service since joining and being a member of your Penguin Club for years now. We also know the high quality standard that Progressive Air maintains and delivers to their customers. But today, once again, we were pleasantly surprised and pleased with our tech Gerald Thompson. He called us when he was 10 minutes out to inform us of his arrival. He greeted us personally and professionally and went over the tasks to be performed today. He made sure we understood them and he listened to what we had to say and answered our questions, then he went to work. He was very knowledgeable, respectful, and diligent. He was non-intrusive and didn't get in our way. He was also very respectful, attentive, and cautious to not let our cats out while he was coming and going through the front door. He did good work in a timely manner. He even presented the opportunity for us to learn about and possibly purchase a surge protector for our a/c unit. He was very informative and honest and spoke to me as a person not a salesman or company contact as he explained the benefits of having a surge protector. Because of that, we were sold on his pitch and did purchase one. He also went above and beyond his duties and cleaned both of our two air filters! Who does that? September 10, 2018 Progressive Air Original call repair date July 9, 2018. This is a rental property and I was not on the premises when the work was done. The neighbor, Joe , who is a retired AC professional was there during the service. The female Technician brought out a piece of PVC pipe and showed him that she had to replace it. I was called and given the price and OK'd it and the work was done. I received an invoice I believe by e-mail later on and did not check it since I assumed I was dealing with an ethical company. September 10, 2018. Tenant let me know there was a leak in the garage ceiling. Neighbor Joe checked it and said there was a gap left when the PVC pipe was changed, causing the leak. I called Progressive and spoke to a supervisor. He informed me that no pipe had been replaced and when I checked the invoice, it made no mention of it. So I scheduled another repair for today. In the meantime, I was able to speak with Joe Wray and he reiterated that a piece of PVC pipe had been replaced and he had personally been shown the piece of pipe that was replaced. I placed a call to the supervisor and was told he was out to lunch and would get back to me. That was at 12:30PM The Technician, Brody arrived just after 12:30pm. Joe Wray went over to see what was being done. Brody told him that a coupling or couplings were not glued as they should have been which caused the leak, proving that part of the PVC pipe was replaced since this would have happened long ago if this was an older pipe. The garage ceiling was saturated and may have to be repaired. Still have not heard from the supervisor at 2PM. 2:02PM Just heard from my tenant. After telling me that no part was replaced, they now tell me that the problem was not the part the technician replaced, but another part, in a different area and they would only charge me the $79 service fee. I am left with a damaged garage ceiling. So we went from no part was replaced to a different part was replaced. Summary, this company is great until you have a problem. They will never accept responsibility for their mistakes. I have been going back and forth with them on the BBB and their latest reply was that they think I had work done from another company or person and am trying to blame them. Don't be fooled by the presentation online. And I chose them because they had a good rating. No I think they must pay people to write phony reviews. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. read more

The installer did a great job installing the heat pump. It took about twice as long as expected and he couldn't use the opening in the wall where the old thermostat was, so he created a new hole next to the old one. Progressive said they would send someone to take care of it. The new heat pump works really well. read more

If you choose to use Progressive Air be advised that you will have to initiate every contact with them. My a/c went out...I chose Progressive Air over three other vendors to replace my system. They had the best product for the price and excellent financing. My system was installed on May 14. The a/c system stopped working the next day. I contacted them and scheduled a repairman for the next day. Another night of no air conditioning and 90 degree heat in the house! The repairman explained that the installation was not performed correctly, the initial installers installed the unit as if it were a vertical unit instead of the horizontal position that it was installed in. The air conditioner stopped working two days later. I called again. I scheduled another repairman for the next day. Another day of plus 90 degrees in the house. Another repairman was scheduled for the next day. They didn't show up or call. I contacted them again and scheduled another repairman. Again another 90 degree plus night in the house. This repairman (3rd one) actually fixed the system so that it would work, but explained that there were other installation issues and that the system would not pass County inspection. I was told someone would be in contact to schedule the needed repairs. I called two weeks later because no one called. The scheduled repairman showed up and made the repairs. He said someone from the office would call to schedule the County inspection. Another week and no call. I had to call again to get the inspection scheduled. The County inspection is scheduled two days from now. I hope it passes inspection. Their sales department was very good. Their product is very good. Their installation department sucks! Their follow through with customers suck! It took six weeks for them to get my system installed and ready for inspection. If you are willing to do all of the follow up and wait an inordinate amount of time to get your system installed and inspected, use Progressive Air. I hope I never have to call them again! read more

Had no A/C on Memorial Day, a holiday. First time I called Progressive and the technician returned the call in 10 minutes, suggested some trouble shooting tips. He called me back and advised he would be here following his current service call. He arrived on the scene in 45 minutes, concluded the problem was a electronic part that needed to be replaced. Once the part was installed, my system is running better than prior. Reliable, responsive and great communications. Pricing was very fair, especially on a holiday. Ben was amazing!!! His customer service and technical insight diagnosed and fixed our a/c in minutes. This was after a Progressive Air Systems tech cam out earlier in the week and told us the unit was working as it was supposed to. Ben called us late on Saturday night to schedule our Sunday appointment, came out on Sunday and quickly tested and figured out the issued, and by Monday afternoon Ben fixed the issue and we had a/c again.
