Hi my name is Jim and I was driven to Englewood hospital…read more And was very ill when I arrived they did there Best to help me Jenn Was my nurse and she Was outstanding I was Not feeling well and was Trying to be as courteous As possible after I started To come down from my 105 temperature I explained that my wife Passed away 3 years earlier at the same hospital after we where Married for 34 years and I just felt uncomfortable And wanted to leave they Said that they don't supply rides and if I stayed in the morning Sometime after 7 30 am I can call a service and Possibly get a ride this Was after I called several Different places that night they gave me I felt that for some reason they had enough of me my IV broke and After buzzing my call Button for 5 minutes with no response I walked out of my room And down the hall squirting blood all over the place yelling for help A nurse saw me and came to my aid so with That happening and the Fact I wanted to leave I didn't have my phone with me when the ambulance picked me up And had no pants or shoes and at 64 yrs old Not like I was in my 20s Look over all nice people But when they told me The door is that way at 5 30 am in the morning And let me walk in my Stocking feet Jen did say There is a chance that I might be able to get a ride around 7 30 but at This time I felt like this Relationship was over When I arrived home And got my phone my Son called and told me When he called the hospital that the nurse And witch one I don't Know released private Information to him about Lab reports not even knowing if he really was My son. Upset me a lot Just felt like a second Class citizen. Will never Go again and that's just Me I here good and I here Bad but do know that It's not half as good as The hospital in Laurel road heading to what hospital when I ask for an ultrasound to put an IV in at noon it didn't show with the machine to 11:00 at night and never happens at Laurel road but like I said you know they're understaffed they're nice people and it's just my opinion hey what are you going to do just upset about giving out information to my son that you've never been given out I wish them all well but they won't see me again.

My siblings and I flew back and forth to Florida for two weeks. Ten days after the surgery, due to his rapidly declining condition, we spent $50,000 to med flight him home to Boston. To have him released, I had to fight with the chief of the hospital for over twelve hours. He refused to release him...because "it's the weekend" and "it is snowing in Boston" as if I didn't have a weather app (no it wasn't). The Director of the Transfer Center at Beth Israel in Boston finally angrily called him to educate him around the specifics and expectations of transfer protocol. Twelve hours later, my father was out of that death trap and being med-flighted to the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. When my father arrived at BI: he had sepsis, his incision was infected and flesh was bleeding and oozing through the sutures; he had no pulse in his feet, he had a blood clot in his lung and his BP was dangerously low. His surgery needed to be completely redone. He was intubated for days. Finally, with the excellent care provided at the Beth Israel in Boston, he was release (over five weeks after being admitted to HCA) and is doing exceptionally well at home with his family. I don't know how many times we were told "he's 93, just let him go." No thank you it wasn't his time, and we got him the heck out of there. He walked in and almost left in a body bag two weeks later. My pets received better care at Angel Memorial in Boston, than my father received at HCA in Englewood, Florida. The moral of this story is don't get sick in Florida and if you do avoid "for profit" hospitals.
