It's very difficult to move even after the hotel added WD40. Also very heavy door to the balcony. We had to use our whole bodies to open and close and that was also after wd40. Also our sink kept clogging and the plumber had to replace a part on the toilet so it would flush more easily. Too much time spent waiting for maintenance to fix various things! The restaurant is a big eh. I had chicken and another time fish tacos. I couldn't finish either because of the quality of the food. There aren't any alternative restaurants under $30. Be prepared to spend!

Then on the 4th night of our stay we got in late and encountered cockroach in the toilet. When we looked around the bathroom we saw several more. They were small but there we several visible. We didn't sleep well at all but had to stay in the room. When we got u a couple hours later we saw a large cockroach just above the toilet paper holder on the side of the sink vanity. We called Vacasa right then and explained the situation and sent the representative pictures to substantiate our issues. He was helpful and told us the local property manager would be contacting us. We packed our belongings as quickly as possible and reserved a hotel room in Sarasota. Our last full day of vacation was a bust. The local agent could not be reached for several hours. When she did call around 11:30 am she told us she saw no evidence of cockroaches she told us that the picture of the large cockroach in the bathroom didn't look like anywhere in the unit. We told her the location of the other cockroaches and she continued to tell us she could find none at all. She told us the room is rented continuously and they never experienced cockroaches prior to this. She continued to state that she could find none. We felt as if she implied we were lying. She didn't use the word lie or liar but it felt implied. We felt very insulted. We have been visiting Siesta Key the same week for several years and we always stayed at the same place. This time we tried a new place and now we regret that we didn't stay where we had in the past. we had an a legitimate issue and it was handled poorly by the local Vacasa property agent. She is crediting us for the last day but she still insulted us by the implication that we were lying. We won't use Vacasa again. We feel bad for the next guests to experience the cockroaches because it is only a matter of time before someone else sees the cockroaches as well. We stayed in cottage 4.

Located a stones throw away from the semi private beach & within walking distance to anything and everything you need in the village. You absolutely cannot beat the location! Especially with children. Its so easy taking them to and from the beach especially when a bathroom break is needed or something forgotten. The units are all decorated with a beachy vibe, well maintained and clean. The pool, grilling area, outdoor shower and laundry is great,and management is very attentive and accomodating.

Rooms are threadbare and sparsely furnished. Flatscreen on the wall with no guide/explanation of the local channels or cable ones. No breakfast included for the $220+ either. Crappy cheap linens in bathroom and on the bed (hey: at least they ain't rubber sheets). Other inclusions: tiny little bottles of shampoo, gel and conditioner as "amenities." Poor quality single serve coffee packets and the world's smallest coffee maker too. One other observation: room smelled faintly of cheap marijuana too. Mattress was about as soft as they get. I almost thought I was sleeping on a bowl of oatmeal...They need to change it out for a new, firm one that wasn't made in 1999. The only positive that I can offer is that the room was clean (albeit worn around the edges), no bugs, and it served the purpose of being here overnight after an evening at the opera. I wasn't about to shell out $400+ to stay in downtown Sarasota Something tells me that the gypsy camp from Il Trovatore would've been more hospitable and comfortable. If these people wanna call this joint a resort, then I'd hate to see what a Motel 6 looks like in THEIR world. That even includes the small, forlorn pool in the middle of the property too. It was very quiet during the weekend we stayed and maybe only saw 8 people total. I can't really give a higher rating because we didn't spend much time at the resort during the day. We didn't check out any amenities they offered. We were really just there to sleep and then out for the whole day. We did get a site that had dedicated wifi and paid $2 extra per day for it. The front desk kept saying "it should be in your welcome email," but the wifi information wasn't there. They still have it to us, but it was a slight inconvenience. There was also a welcome kit, but since the office is mostly closed on the weekends, we didn't get a chance to grab it and they wouldn't drop it off/leave it at our site.

The property seems to have undergone a complete renovation. The rooms and grounds are impeccably maintained, and the kitchen appliances and décor are modern, stylish, and beautiful. I'm extremely happy with my choice and would definitely stay here again. One thing to note is that Expedia lists the hotel as being on the beach, but it is actually about two blocks away. That said, the walk is quick and easy, and the hotel conveniently provides beach chairs for guests, making the trip to the beach very enjoyable.

The property management gave us instructions for getting a key after hours, but they were wrong. The resort overall is run down and needs updating. An unpleasant experience!!
