I've been a long term GulfStream customer but over the last few years, there has been a dramatic shift in their handling of Customer Service issues. My $10K HVAC unit has had to have service at least 5 times (including the 2 visits for Service Contract) each of the 2 years that I have had it. In the last 6 months, MOLD has been discovered inside my AC registers and ductwork caused by water backing up into the air return and cooling unit in the garage....an ongoing issue. Kenneth came out and replaced the entire box in the garage and indicated that I would have to pay the $$1,145.00 charge because I had been informed in a previous repair, of the need to open the drain pipe from the unit. I looked up all the receipts that I had and could not find any such information so I requested a copy of the invoice. He told me he would have the office send it to me. I have gotten no response from Email, phone, or messages... This was so avoidable! read more

Leaked refrigerant out of our a/c twice. In addition, on most calls made us have nitrogen in our drain lines and denied anything was wrong with that. Inexperienced because they could not figure out correct ratio between nitrogen and oxygen in our home or the fact we lost refrigerant. This made us ill most of the time. As the temperature cools down, it was time for our semi-annual a/c maintenance. Sort of like a regular visit to the dentist for a check-up, but a lot less painful! As usual, the Gulfstream rep did a nice job. They are generally very reliable, professional, considerate and thorough. The price was decent for our two a/c's, and we will continue to call them for service. It's helpful to have a consistently solid vendor that we can count on. I've been using Gulfstream Cooling exclusively for around 12 years in the same home since home purchase warranty expired. Each year they were called in for some part or another failing in the aging unit, or yearly cleaning or a minor part issue. Each time called if the AC had failed, they walked me through a temporary fix, or arrived within 24 hours and the house was cool again. Recently, iguana took out fan blade. Again as the past few years conversation had gone, a new system (the unit is almost 20 years of age) was suggested, but NEVER pushed. I sucked up another several hundred dollar reasonable repair cost and said I'd try to get through another season. This time, not the case. The entire system started failing a couple months later and DID need to be replaced. Replacing the system: I was given a great quote by brother Jason and didn't even want to call anyone else. He explained the 3 options and I looked them up on manufacturers website and even found another rebate through my city. The great thing about these guys-they DID give me the best price (who wants to shop when the house is close to 80 anyway?)....although I called Island air who came in tightly 2nd. Gulfstream is a small group. You know who you're talking to on the phone, they know you too. Best part about this company: family owned and they treat you like their family! I just signed up with this family owned & Operated company. They sent Brian as I asked for an extremely experienced tech since I have had terrible experience with Aspen air & Air worx. Kesha was lovely & accommodated me immediately. Brian diagnosed 2 major issues with the carrier Bedroom unit ( needing a new COIL & REFRIGERANT VALVE) . Unit only 2 yrs young we are only here 6 mos out of the year . Brian said on a brand new unit this is most unusual. The next hr Kea call me & said she would order both parts but to inform me the company ( Aspen) who installed both new AC units in 2020 NEVER REGISTERED MY WARRANTEES AS THEY ARE ONLY GOOD UNTIL 2025. Steve the owner came to reinspect to CONFIRM Brian's Diagnosis & Brian was 100% correct. Labor was 483.00 as this was a huge job. read more

We did a lot of research and got competitive quotes and interviewed many companies to get our old air conditioning unit replaced as part of a home remodeling project we were doing. We decided to go with Gulfstream Cooling and so far we believe we made the right choice. The first thing we noticed was that the company is very responsive. When we called they would answer and follow-through unlike some of their competitors. Next the salesman (I think Mike W. - guy with the accent) was very friendly and knowledgeable. Lastly, the quotes are very descriptive with clearly spelled out descriptions of parts/work that will be done with options available and costs for each. The quotes offer different tiers of air-conditioners which we did not notice from other companies. The pricing was similar to other companies, but we felt like the Bryant products that they offered were higher quality than the random ones the other companies were using. This company was the most transparent about the whole process and it's easy - working with them is not difficult or frustrating. We decided to pick the middle tier unit which was a modest upgrade. The crew came early in the morning and said it would take about a whole day for the work. We had a unique situation where I had to replace the drywall behind the existing unit and Gulfstream was real cool about coordinating with me so I could do the work and even offered to give us some pointers, quick hand moving stuff, or borrow a tool if I forgot one. At the last minute we found out that the surrounding stand and ducting was bad (by our judgement - not theirs) and Gulfstream was able to accommodate our extra work requests fairly without trying to extort us like we have experienced with other contractors. The two man crew was also very friendly and knowledgeable. I think one of the guy's names was Wayne and he was great - recommend asking if he can do your install. They were done on schedule and cleaned everything up nicely. The unit was installed to look nice and the piping work looked professional. At the end of the day you have to pay and a tip to other readers is that they accept credit card payments in case you wanna build up some reward points. You also need your FPL account #, but can tell them later if you misplace it. If you have an old crap air unit now, you will be amazed by your new Bryant. The house was always hot before and humidity high even though we turned it down, but now we frequently turn it up so we don't get chilly and the air is way dryer (if you did not know, air conditioners remove moisture from the air, so it will feel alot cooler also). Another of my favorite things is the fan box thing outside. It is a massive, masculine looking thing and probably 3 times the size of our old one. It comes bolted onto this huge concrete slab so the hurricanes don't blow it away. Every time I see it I feel like a bit of a big shot homeowner. We were hoping for a big decrease in our electricity bills and so far we think it is maybe $50 a month less, so over time, the thing will pay for itself. If you wanna do some kind of home improvement, this is the most beneficial one and actually the only one that will go straight-forward and easy. It's only been a few weeks, but no problems so far. I'll update my review after a few years so readers can see if Bryant is a good brand. read more

Quick response, pleasant technician and the pricing was competitive as well. We had an a/c system that was shutting down randomly so we called up Gulfstream who was highly recommended by a friend. They came out same day, found a blocked drainage line, cleared it, and then threw the system a complete cleaning which got everything in tip top order. $89 was the charge, which is pretty much what you'd expect for this kind of service in the West Palm Beach/Boca Raton area. We've been using these guys since they installed a brand new system 6-7 years ago. We're on a maintenance contract and Gulfstream Cooling are on top of everything like clockwork. We've had a few maintenance issues over the years, but I have absolutely zero complaints with their prompt service. I have a wife that can't take the heat, so it's my duty to make sure she stays cool - and these guys make sure the AC is always at peak performance levels. When our nearly 20-year-old ac finally gave up the ship, I did extensive research/due diligence, and requested several quotes. Just as a comparison, called another company in the AM that was familiar with and I swear it sounded like the receptionist did NOT want to be at work. Had an emergency leak and she said she'll get back to me. Called again at 2:00 they said they can't.... glad I called back. To make the long story short, got Gulfstream number from my neighbor .... the person on the phone was so pleasant and said she'll will call right back to see if they could get someone to our house that same day... and she called back within THREE minutes!!!! These guys are real Pros. Jason surveyed the job, gave us a very competitive bid for a 3.5 Ton Bryant HVAC Unit. We were not presented with a smorgasbord of vendor options, as Bryant (read: Carrier) is their lone offering. Researching all the different makes/models on the Internet will drive you to drink. To assist in our review, the bid and relevant Bryant model information was emailed. The installation Team showed up early, and worked steadily through to completion at 5 pm. The job was not a cake-walk, as the Air Handler (AH) is in the overhead of our garage .....necessitating a worker go into the sweltering attack to remount the AH support chains. They even replaced the inlet/outlet plenums, which had been pretty well butchered by previous service companies. As a kid who served as a Machinist Mate in the engine rooms of USN Nuclear Submarines in the 60's, I consider myself qualified to recognize a Top-Shelf job. This was one. We're VERY pleased with Gulfstream Cooling, and would recommend their services to anyone not looking to be duped into a cheesy experience. read more

They installed 2 new Bryant units for us and we thought the installation itself went smoothly. However after that it has been problem after problem and we have already spent hundreds, now running into thousands of dollars on repairs in under just 4 years as we still have to pay for the very high cost of labor even if the parts are under warranty. Any savings from the improved efficiency is lost, so much so that we think our old 15 year old AC was much more reliable. I have no complaints with the company in terms of scheduling or professionalism of the company, just unhappy that we are having so many issues with the Ac. Update: Talked to another AC person and they said that the newer, higher efficiency models gave lots of issues in south florida because of all the power fluctuations. This has been our experience as well. I wish this company had not sold us that and made a recommendation that works in this region. read more

I was left a house by my absolute best friend when she passed in 2014. The American Standard air conditioner she had installed in 2011 has given me more problems than I can mention. It got to the point that I refuse to put any more money into it. Gulfstream has been with me all the way and no, they did not install the monster I am speaking of. They worked with me to get a price I'm comfortable with and is even working with he financing! If I could give more than five stars, I would! I called Gulfstream to set up an appointment for a maintenance check regarding an a/c unit in a condo. I spoke with Keisha, who was very helpful and kind. She advised me to speak with the condo office to see if there is a cooling tower on the roof. If so, I should use the company that the building uses for maintenance and repairs because it could save possible problems in the long run. I called the condo and they indeed do have a cooling tower. I then called Keisha to let her know that I will use the condo's company and am very grateful for her advice. It clearly appears that Gulfstream wants to do right by their customers, even if it means losing a customer because of particular circumstances (as in my case). Thank you again Keisha. Hands down the best AC company I've ever dealt with. They are prompt, courteous and their follow through is fantastic. They installed a new unit in my house a year and a half ago. It started having problems this summer. They went out of their way to diagnose the problem which took a couple of visits and some calls to the manufacturer. It turned out to be a faulty compressor and they fixed it fast. They didn't charge me until they knew it was working completely correctly. And when they did, the price was definitely fair. We had to replace our old AC unit and got several companies to come to our house for estimates. We had a spacing issue for the new AC unit, and Gulfstream Cooling was the only company to have a solution on how to proceed. They were very efficient and knowledgable.
