Our group of 5 had an amazing day on the water fishing and sightseeing. The captain and crew were helpful with instruction, oversight, guidance, and assistance. We were on the water for about 1/2 day and plenty long enough to get some sun and catch enough to have a mess of fish for dinner later. We fished and moved to at least 4 spots. Be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen. We also packed a small cooler with drinks and snacks. Don't forget the hand sanitizer -- you'll be glad you did after handling bait and (hopefully) any fish you catch! When we returned to the dock, the crew prepped and filleted our catch for a nominal fee. Tips are appreciated and should definitely be considered a standard practice by patrons and not just a courtesy. Well earned after the hard work of a day on the water. The boat charter can accommodate about 40 passengers; however, on the day we went, we were at about 2/3 capacity. Customers were a wide skill range from rookies to regulars. We took our fresh prepped fish home and sautéd it later for an impromptu house party for 7 diners. Great experience to be able to eat something we'd caught earlier that day! read more

Captain Joe and first mate Darren went above and beyond to be sure that Steve and I (Wilson /17) had a wonderful day of fishing. They were always there to be sure we were rigged/baited and in the right spot to catch plenty of fish. We caught about 15 nice fish - and despite decades of fishing experience - learned a couple of neat tricks from the pros on this boat. I booked this through the military, and what a great time. There was four of us. The boat was what you would expect in fishing charter. Nothing fancy, but we'll stocked and working. Bathrooms. drinks, snacks for a $1 each done on honor system. Our captain was knowledgeable and put us on fish . The first mate was everywhere taking care of the crews fishing lines and any needs. All you needed to do was catch and they did the rest, oh and bait your own hook. They would even show you if needed. Our first spot we maxed out on mangrove snapper. Hitting yellow tail as well. That was quite entertaining. Then he took us out for a different variety of fish. In our third spot, we were catching bone fish, which gave some excitement but not keeping. Best of all we're the white margate that we're caught!! This was one of my favorite charters. Everyone on the vessel seemed to be having a great time. It's so affordable and even locals go out on this boat, which with so many choices to me says quite a lot! We'll definitely be back and this comes highly recommended. read more

Not one, but two bad experiences... Long story short this is a cheapo party boat, and you get what you pay for, no problem with that. They do allow you to bring your own gear, and I prefer to use my own stuff so I brought mine. I'm no fishing genius but I've fished all along the west coast and alaska multiple times, and in the gulf. I set up my rig with things I'm used to fishing with. One of the deck hands notices since I'm one of the few not using their stuff and comes over and says "that's not gonna catch anything bud". I said ok but I'm ok with it. No problem still. Repeatedly through the whole trip he kept coming by and making remarks about my gear, to the point where it's getting annoying. Meanwhile, I'm not complaining, asking him for help, or doing literally anything that would warrant him to keep harassing me. Literally staring at the water and fishing. I then proceeded to catch the most fish and the biggest fish on that trip, which I'm sure he didn't like. They also mixed up all the fish that they were supposed to keep separate that we caught Then I booked a second trip two weeks later since my other charter had to cancel and I wanted to fish. Same story, the guy sees me, recognizes me, and starts to this time make fun of my gear to other people on the boat? That's just weird. And then again while I'm fishing, and STILL catching more than almost everyone one the boat keeps coming over and harassing me to the point where I basically had to tell him to F off. Really unpleasant experience both times for no reason, even crazier because I was trying to just fish in the corner of the boat by my self and mind my own business. read more

I've been on this party boat several times over the past 3 years and it is always a great time. The crew is experienced and knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We always catch dinner, but this last trip on New Year's Day was outstanding. Captain Dave took us to several different spots where the entire boat caught fish non-stop. My family of 6 caught over 20 keeper yellowtails. The mate, Jeremy, was running around the entire trip helping everyone and loving every minute of it. Jeremy also took extra time with the younger kids on board to make sure they were catching fish and having fun. The crew gets so excited seeing their boat catch fish and having a great time is their top priority. A few people got their reels tangled up every now and then and the crew was there to help them without a complaint. The Galley Girl, Angela, (who's also a captain) not only cooks up some of the best food that you'll find on a fishing trip, but also comes out on the deck to help out the crew when it gets busy. This trip is always a great time and a must do for me every time I visit Key West. read more

Was ok. Fishing spots weren't the greatest and the boat had way to many people on board. Spent more time uncrossing lines then fishing, and when we were fishing all 30+ lines went to the same spot. The worst part though was the fishing "pool" they had. $5 PER HEAD and biggest "edible" fish takes all. Well we won (see photo) with our 8lb red grouper. There were over 30 personnel on the boat and well over 20 participants (quick math equals $100+). When we got back to the docks we were given the prize money, all of $40. Something doesn't add up as we had 8 alone in our party who participated, I asked and he said that's all the prize money. Ripped off. No doubt in my mind he skimmed off the top....and the middle. They wasted two of my days in Key West on my honeymoon when I only had five days here and both days they canceled mine and my husbands fishing trip after an hour of waiting there and waking up at 8 AM on my vacation days twice because they didn't have enough people to go out even though I already paid. All they care about is money and even though some people didn't show up they didn't feel it was acceptable to take me and my husband and the eight other people that showed up out to fish even though we specifically reserve those days and planned those six hours to be fishing so we had to find something else to do and spend more money and it took four days for me to figure out how to get my cash refund back that I planned through my tour guide. It was a big run around and a big stressful waste of money on my honeymoon and they weren't even kind about it, they didn't pay for my Uber and they didn't pay for my time wasted with them. My family traveled to Key West to complete a family member's last request. It was crazy how they took care of us and they were so above and beyond to help. My mother has been struggling with things and apparently when she booked the trip she made an error. 2022 not 2021. Anyway, it was also 8/27/21. Hurricane Ida was wreaking havoc on the seas. When we arrived at the dock (in horrific weather) not having heard of a cancellation, we found it empty of people. We contacted them and discovered why they didn't contact us, they had another year to do so. Anyway, ALL NIGHT they were in contact with us and found another boat from another company to take us out in the early morning as family members had flights to catch. They were amazing! Ultimately we did not go out as Ida was not to be played with but they were willing to make sure we were set. On top of the work they put in, the mistake was on our end, they refunded the money paid. I know that we will be back again- not soon- to fulfill another's request but we know exactly who we will be going with! Amazing people! read more

Best crew I have ever seen! First of all I need to explain how I found them... Like many of us , first I called the top guys from TripAdvisor and they asked for $500 for a small boat trip which is fair BUT they also told me that there are NO shared head/party boats in Key West (?) which was a big b.s! Our hotel concierge helped us to book Gulfstream for 6 hours trip. Their price was more than reasonable and you can also rent their gear for $5 if you don't have. Our trip started with a warm welcome from Captain while we were waiting them at benches . He came and met with every different group. What a gentleman! Whole trip was better then we expected. Most important part is that most of the head boat crew can easily get nervous if you are not experienced. If you tangle your rod you can see their frustration on their face. Believe me or not but this crew was smiling 6 hours and coming for help before we ask them. Another plus was that they help people to catch fish. They bring you to the back of the boat and help you catch the fish in best spot. Also , if you couldn't catch at all , they may end up sharing some of theirs with you. We came here for only 3 days and we end up with plenty of fishes and worried about what to do with them .... Don't worry , they are also very good on advising! We bring them to the restaurant and have them cook for us :) Long story short , waiter just bring my fish and they are getting cold :) so , don't be fooled by others and enjoy your day with these nice guys ! My only complaint was that I originally scheduled a night trip, but it was cancelled due to low numbers (I understand), as it was the day we fished they probably did not have enough people to have made money, but the took the trip as a loss and went anyway. Great way to spend a cloudy/rainy day! My husband and I took our 4 children (16, 14, 10, and 7) and had a great time. Syx and Ray entertained our chatty 10 year old and even let the 7 and 10 year old sit at the helm for a bit. He taught them how to navigate and what to look for such as lobster pots and landmarks. Once we started fishing, Ray made sure everyone was catching something. If no one was hooking anything, we moved to a new spot. Ray brought several people to an open spot the stern to drop a line to increase their chances of catching something. The crew hand Travis was a big A hole. I got nausseous and then had heat exhaustion within the first hour. I asked if I could lay down inside and he said just lay down on deck which was under the sun. I did for the entire rest of the trip. He was of no help at all and I don't belive he even advised the captain. Luckily after I slept the entire trip I was able to gain enough energy to walk off the boat on my own. No exaggeration I had absolutely no energy. I'm just glad it wasn't something more serious because the crew was worthless. read more

We had a reservation on a night trip and drove from Montana to go. We called in the afternoon to make sure we were still on and everything was good. Once we arrived,luckily we were two hours early, we met one of the employees working on the boat.we asked if we were in the right spot and he gave us a bewildered look and told us they were not going out as the boat had an electrical problem. He was stumped because he said they should not have taken reservations because they had not even started the night fishing yet. He called the bosses and came back to say we should have gotten a call or e mail.sure enough we did get an e mail two hours prior. Unfortunately we were driving thru the keys when it was sent. He did offer us a trip the next day at a discounted rate. He was a nice dude. Luckily the tortuga IV was just down the road and was going out we were able to hop on. Moses was running the show on board and did a excellent job. He took extra care of my daughters and helped them any way he could. We hooked into plenty of fish. My oldest (12) even hooked into a shark. Unfortunately it got off. Everyone on board caught plenty of fish and a great time was had by all. In the end I felt Gulf Stream could have gave a call Instead of an e mail so I could have found another place quicker an e mail dosent cut it when driving down the highway.
