Very satisfied with our adventure on the water using Gulfstream Fishing. I'm glad we had the chance to bring our own snacks and drinks, but the operator has a contractor that cooks and has refreshments onboard as well. The shrimp and grits plate smelled and look amazing!!

Great weather, great staff (Johnny was awesome and worked his ass off for us). We all caught fish too. Bring snacks and drinks. Be sure to tip your fishing assistant! Sunscreen, a hat, and a towel to wipe your hands.

We have been on this boat three times now and this is hands-down the best crew you could ever wish for. Darren and John are absolutely amazing and they make sure you catch fish and have a good time. I cannot say enough good things about these guys and the owner and his wife are outstanding people. When we return home this is the trip we dream about.

    Success!

My boys had a great time and caught lots of delicious fish. Highly recommend this adventure!

I booked this through the military, and what a great time. There was four of us. The boat was what you would expect in fishing charter. Nothing fancy, but we'll stocked and working. Bathrooms. drinks, snacks for a $1 each done on honor system. Our captain was knowledgeable and put us on fish . The first mate was everywhere taking care of the crews fishing lines and any needs. All you needed to do was catch and they did the rest, oh and bait your own hook. They would even show you if needed. Our first spot we maxed out on mangrove snapper. Hitting yellow tail as well. That was quite entertaining. Then he took us out for a different variety of fish. In our third spot, we were catching bone fish, which gave some excitement but not keeping. Best of all we're the white margate that we're caught!! This was one of my favorite charters. Everyone on the vessel seemed to be having a great time. It's so affordable and even locals go out on this boat, which with so many choices to me says quite a lot! We'll definitely be back and this comes highly recommended.

Very fun and great price, cool experience. We all caught like 30 fish together and saw sea turtles and sharks. Everyone was really friendly. Going again in a couple of days.

SO. Much. Fun! I would definitely recommend booking this directly through the website instead of a booking company. We had amazing weather, an amazing crew with DJ and Ethan and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Caught Yellow tails, Grouper and some Grunts. The experience is very unique and one you won't forget. I cannot wait to come back and use this charter again. Highly recommend !

We had a great time fishing with Gulfstream! It seemed like a full boat and nothing but sunshine. They provided poles, bait and the boat. The deck hands, DJ and Ethan were very helpful and patient. My daughter, Mackenzie caught 6 fish, nothing huge, but good sized. She loved it. I caught one. They also offer food and drinks for purchase or you can bring your own.

I called this morning to see if they had any spaces available and they were so great to accommodate my last minute request. Angela and Carson were so incredibly helpful and they got me to catch two fish! They also recommend a place I could take it to get cooked up and it was delicious. Everything was fantastic and I will definitely do this charter again if I am in the keys!

I've been on this party boat several times over the past 3 years and it is always a great time. The crew is experienced and knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We always catch dinner, but this last trip on New Year's Day was outstanding. Captain Dave took us to several different spots where the entire boat caught fish non-stop. My family of 6 caught over 20 keeper yellowtails. The mate, Jeremy, was running around the entire trip helping everyone and loving every minute of it. Jeremy also took extra time with the younger kids on board to make sure they were catching fish and having fun. The crew gets so excited seeing their boat catch fish and having a great time is their top priority. A few people got their reels tangled up every now and then and the crew was there to help them without a complaint. The Galley Girl, Angela, (who's also a captain) not only cooks up some of the best food that you'll find on a fishing trip, but also comes out on the deck to help out the crew when it gets busy. This trip is always a great time and a must do for me every time I visit Key West.

Was ok. Fishing spots weren't the greatest and the boat had way to many people on board. Spent more time uncrossing lines then fishing, and when we were fishing all 30+ lines went to the same spot. The worst part though was the fishing "pool" they had. $5 PER HEAD and biggest "edible" fish takes all. Well we won (see photo) with our 8lb red grouper. There were over 30 personnel on the boat and well over 20 participants (quick math equals $100+). When we got back to the docks we were given the prize money, all of $40. Something doesn't add up as we had 8 alone in our party who participated, I asked and he said that's all the prize money. Ripped off. No doubt in my mind he skimmed off the top....and the middle. Never again.

A couple weeks before our trip we reserved a center console from Boat Rentals of Key West for 8 hours. On the day of the rental we arrived at their office in the Marina at Downtown Key West. The staff was courteous and gave us all the needed instructions we would need for the day. The boat was clean, gassed up and ready to go. We had a blast exploring the area and reefs around Key West. The Boat performed and ran great. Me and my wife have rented boats before and never have we encountered a staff as professional and courteous as the people working at Boat Rentals of Key West and their boats are in very good condition and obviously well maintained. In the future, we will be back to Key West and we will only rent a boat from Boat Rentals of Key West. Thanks again for the great service. Our boat rental was the highlight of our key West trip.

I never leave bad reviews, but in this case it was absolutely necessary. - "Boat Rentals of Key West" is a broker, but does not disclose at time of booking. After making a deposit on phone, we were sent to pickup our boat at a place called "Paradise Boat Rentals" at Murray Marine on Stock Island. - We arrived at Paradise Boat Rentals at 1pm where final payment was charged. Upon which, the owner "Rocky" recommended he guide us through the narrow channels to main water. Very shallow area that surrounded the location. - When we hit open waters, Rocky waived us through and we were on our way. 35 minutes later, the boat broke down. From 1st contact, it took them 3 hours to come assist us. - By 5:15pm, we had everything swapped over to a replacement boat. We used this replacement boat to tow Rocky 45 minutes closer to KW (out of courtesy). - It was cloudy, windy and the water was very choppy that day, not to mention, we were in a flat bottom deck boat. It was extremely rough to say the least, and we still had to make it back to Murray on Stock Island. - By 6:45pm we could barely see. We realize at this time, the replacement boat has NO lights and NO navigation device. My wife calls Rocky on his cell, and explained we were about 500 yards from his marina, but needed an assist due to no lights or nav - it was not safe trying to navigate the narrow channels without someone experienced with such area. He begins screaming at her and accusing us of being intoxicated. I get on the phone and he begins cursing "I know what F...n games you are playing", "I'm not coming to help you", "Just wait until you get here and see who you are messing with", etc, etc. I explain to him that 3 of us on the boat, including driver had not taken 1 sip of alcohol that day. - At this point, due to the situation and the threats from Rocky, we pulled over to a bulk-headed area and called the local authorities. They agreed we should not drive the boat as it was very dangerous to do so without lights. They then helped return the boat and coordinated our vehicle pickup from Murray. At 9:30pm, we were finally returning to our hotel. - We are now going through the channels of dispute with our credit card company for right at $400 in charges (from both this broker and Paradise rentals)! Rant over. Proceed with caution.

The day we went, the waves were pretty choppy. I got in the water and panicked. Kelly, our guide, expertly made sure I got back to the boat. Spencer, our dive master, helped me up and reassured me the whole time. I got to spend the next couple hours hanging out with Spencer and robin (the captain), which honestly, was a great time. What I loved is how committed they were to safety, and also making me feel valid in my decision to abort the dives. My partner successfully completed two dives and had a fantastic experience with Kelly guiding him. If/when we're back in key west again for diving, we will definitely book with Lost Reef again!!

Lost Reef Adventures...the worst dive shop that I have encountered in 30 years of scuba diving…read more The negatives: The owner, Nick, was extremely unfriendly to the point of being hostile. He had a serious attitude problem and had no idea what the concept of "customer service" meant. He just stares at you, waiting for you to say something...it's really creepy. After telling us to show up at 7:00 for the morning dives, no one from the shop bothered to show up until 7:45. The crew was only okay. The dive master acted like this was an annoyance to be taking us out on a dive...like he just wanted to get this over and done with. He just swam around for 45 minutes until it was time to re-board. The boat pilot told us, "We're not leaving the dock until you get your gear ready." There was one guy (with a mullet and ear rings) that was pretty cool and very helpful. The equipment was fair, but had some issues. The first tank that I hooked up to only had 1200 psi, turns out that 1/4 of the tanks onboard had previously been used and not removed or refilled. The fact that they all had the rubber covers on the valve (indicating a fresh tank) made it very confusing as to which tank to use. My dive buddy's regulator was inoperable. The dives were fair at best. I guess Key West really isn't that great for sea life when compared to the USVI or Belize, buy the dive master didn't even bother to point out sea life. EVERY dive I've been on in 30 years had a dive master that took pride in his/her job and did their best to point out - things to see - during the dive. I told the travel office on the base at Sigsbee not to recommend them. There are vastly superior shops like Southpoint Divers and Captain's Corner that will give you a much more pleasant experience. I dove with Southpoint on all of my subsequent dives in Key West. The positives: The boat was great - lotsa space for everyone, safety equipment was plentiful, and the safety briefing was well done. As I mentioned before, one of the crew (lives in Roatan, Honduras and was visiting his daughter) was very helpful but unfortunately, he was the exception. The BCDs, masks, and fins were fine. There's not really anything else positive that came out of my experiences. Do yourself a favor and use one of the other dive shops in Key West.
