I love staying here. This was our third time staying at Terrace by the Sea and the location can't be beat. This hotel is within walking distance to everything in Ogunquit. You can walk to the beach via the footpath that passes in front of the hotel, The Marginal Way is only about a 5 minute walk, and there are shops and restaurants just off property. The rooms are comfortable, several include kitchenettes and have water views. I've always styed in the main building, and I love the sitting room, the ocean view from the breakfast area, and the covered porch. We travel with a white noise machine, but I've never had a problem with noise here. The beds are comfortable and the hotel is very clean. Breakfast is included and consists of a variety of breads & bagels, fresh cut fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, coffee, tea, hot chocolate. It is all high quality, and the fresh fruit is the highlight for me. Love being here and can't wait to come back next year. read more

Great location, great view. Loved the terrace with the awesome chairs. I spent most of my time sitting there looking at the ocean. They had a nice continental breakfast with lots of fruit and other options. The staff was friendly. Downside was the hotel was more expensive than we expected. read more

I just had the most amazing birthday weekend here. The staff was so kind and thoughtful and made my time there memorable. They went above and beyond to make my time the best... The room was so pretty and clean and even though it is stated as non view I had a view. I parked my car and walked everywhere for the 3 days I was there. Spent a day on the beach my favorite thing to do. This was my second time there. Only 1 night last year and I can't wait to come back next year and will stay even longer....Thank you to all the staff who made my Birthday weekend the best :) read more

My husband and I came up to Maine without reservations we came to Terrace of the Sea in Ogunquit which has lovely grounds and asked the rates and were told 309$ plus tax for a room in the main building on the following night we didn't book it at that time but called the following day to book the room we were charged 370$ for a room with a king bed to our dismay we were horrified at the room we got which was tacky and dated and down rite unattractive I complained the following day to a woman at the front desk and was told that was their prices even though we were quoted 309$ the day before by someone at the front desk ! The room was not worth 50$ a night !! I do not recommend Terrace by the Sea read more

This is a very comfortable, clean and cozy hotel. You cant go wrong. You will come back.

Not bad, nice a close to the ocean, great views, boardwalk to the beach. Room was ok, very clean, mattress soft and comfy, but frames are old and bed slants down from foot to head. Toilet seat was loose but was fixed immediately after telling desk. Breakfast is a bit of a mad house, have fun with that. Room has fridge and safe and coffee pot. Thermostat has no number and is just a dial , left to lower, right to raise. Pool is heated but was only open one day out of our three there. Everything is in walking distance. read more

We go to Terrace by the Sea every year. It is a great place to stay. I agree with some people regarding the rooms being a bit dated but it is very clean. I will take clean any day of the week. read more

This was my first visit to this beautiful Inn and my only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. Our room (114) had a large enclosed porch that faced the ocean and I could hear that soothing sound all day! The service was amazing and the staff was so sweet and friendly. Our room was lovely and clean and the bathroom was large and comfortable. The INN is within walking distance to many restaurants, shops, the beach, and anything you could want in the beautiful town of Ogunquit! Unfortunately, we had to cut our visit short due to a personal matter, but I hope to be back someday to visit again! read more

Terrace by the Sea cancelled our reservation that we had made over 6 months in advance and did not inform us or the service we booked through. (We have the reservation email from Terrace By the Sea and Booking.com still shows the reservation as active.) When we arrived in Ogunquit for our vacation and went to check in, the front desk said the reservation was canceled and they had no room availability. Ended up searching for a comparable hotel for several hours on the first day of our 3 night stay and were forced to spend a lot more money booking the day of. Very bad experience. read more

The stay started out fine but when we woke up in the morning, the toilet was gurgling. We didn't think much of it but when we flushed the toilet, not only did it not flush but water started gurgling up the bathroom drain into the sink. My husband went to the front desk to request a plunger. The desk attendant barely looked up but when my husband finally got her attention, she said she would find one. My husband waited a while. The attendant was in the backroom chatting with her colleagues and didn't appear to be doing anything to track down a plunger. After waiting a while longer my husband walked around the corner and spied a plunger inside a bathroom. He grabbed it and hurried back to our room to attempt to address the situation but was unable to get the toilet to flush. We decided to just leave without being able to shower or brush our teeth. When we got to the desk to check out, the attendant sternly reprimanded my husband for taking the plunger out of the staff bathroom. There was no apology for the inconvenience or thanks for trying to avert a flood in the room. The staff was rude in a situation where we were trying to be helpful. It ended up being an unpleasant experience and we will never stay here again. read more

This little inn is fantastic. I came here in December 2021 because I needed some time for myself and thought the location was excellent. I was immediately greeted by these two friendly women who called themselves "T&T." The inn was decorated for Christmas and looked quaint and beautiful as well. Anyways, not only was the location perfect, but the customer service exceeded expectations. Not only were T&T personable, but they went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. I even booked another evening, and they made it easy, quick, and super accommodating. I am coming back in the Spring and would recommend this place over almost every other hotel/inn/motel in Ogunquit due to customer service alone. read more

Stayed here last November ( last weekend before the season closed) I left my Tiffany necklace hanging on a light in the room and forgot it 1/2 way home. Called right away and got an answering service that they were closed but leave a message or email. Did both- did not receive a call but did get an email response. Housekeeping never found the necklace. That's unfortunate because they were the only ones in the room cleaning at the end of season. Hopefully karma comes full circle for taking someone's left items. read more

We got here and we're told our room number was changed. We get no instructions as to how to go to our rooms. To our great disappointment we did not have rooms with a view of any kind. Breakfast at the motel was 3 kinds of cereal, juice tea, coffee, yogurt, fresh fruits and assorted breads and little assorted muffins. You do have a view in front of the motel and a walkway to the beach which is about a mile. On our second day we received a phone call at 1:15 pm that we needed to move. We were to move to the room next door as our room was rented to long standing guests. We we're getting ready to go on a cruise and needed to board in 1/2 hour. After 15 minutes on the phone they decided to move all of our belongings to the room next door. Yes it was done when we returned to the room but the only difference between the rooms was a TV that was a little bit bigger. They do not know how to book reservations apparently. read more

We stayed here for a couple of nights in early October. Terrace by the Sea is ideally located between the main Ogunquit Beach and downtown. You can walk everywhere. Our room was in the Court Motel, which they say has non-ocean views but we had a beautiful view of the Ogunquit River and the beach beyond from Room 231. Our room was clean and super comfortable. The bed and bedding were delightful. The complimentary breakfast was an unexpected bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay and would definitely stay here again. read more

Never in my many decades of Staying in hotels, resorts and inns worldwide I felt so disrespected deceived and mistreated by a hotel manager and staff. While vacationing in Maine, we physically went to this location looking into a room so we could change towns and spend a couple of day in Ogunquit. The room that would have suited us was only available for 1 of the 2 nights we were looking for- we decided to book it and look to change to a different hotel for the other night. The front desk lady knew our situation and after my husband gave all the information to book the room ( 12.30pm)she said she could hold that room until the end of her shift ( 6pm) so we could decide, which we thought it was very nice of her. 30 minutes later we called to confirm and tell her to go ahead and process the credit card and the only thing I could hear was her saying " oh my god- oh my god..) I asked her what happens and she said that someone through Expedia had just booked it.... but went on saying she was going to talk to her manager to overturn that booking and give us the room since we had been there first and was going to call us back within 20 mins which she did informing us that there was nothing they could do and had to give the room to the Expedia guest. We asked to passed us to the manager which we reluctantly did or tried to and came back saying the the manger was on a zoom meeting and she would call within an hour. Tanisha the manager did call back to inform us that there was absolutely nothing she could, that she was not going to " kick out" a paying guest to accommodate us(?!?) I couldn't believe what I was hearing, I went on to tell her that they are the one that made a huge mistake, that her staff guaranteed us to hold that room for us until the end of the day which was still 5 hours away. I told her that anytime one reserves a room in a hotel, a table at a restaurant or a seat in airplane that is should be taken out of the pool until the reservation expires and they failed to do so and she had no problem in "kicking us out " even thought we had the preference. I asked what was her solution since they created a huge problem and she said she had NONE! I told her I was going to put a review up in every outlet I could find to make people aware of what kind of service they are providing she said I could even call and talk to the owner Sergio the next day since he was not there at that time if I wanted, that he was aware of the situation and wouldn't do anything anyway. After that my phone went mute... I was in total shock how can a hotel get away with this type of behavior. It's beyond my comprehension to say the least. So, if your stay there is seamless kudus but good luck dealing with this kind of staff if you run in any kind of problem with them. By the way there much better places to stay in Ogunquit than there. read more

Perfect place to stay in Ogunquit. Amazing view of the beach that we enjoyed for every breakfast. So close to the beach (5 min walk?) and downtown (2 min?). Friendly staff and reasonable price. Standard continental breakfast....nothing too impressive. Only ONE parking spot on the property per room. You can check in and start parking there at 11 am (but that means your car has to be off the property by 11 am on your checkout day). If you have a second car, they have other locations where you can park through other businesses, which is $25 overnight parking, but this is better than any other parking in Ogunquit where you'd easily pay $25 for parking NOT overnight. My friends and I fully intend on returning to this place every summer and can't wait!!! read more

We just returned from our 3rd July 4th vacation at Terrace By The Sea and we have already booked our room for 2019. There are many very good things about this hotel. The location is just wonderful. You can easily walk to all the things you would want to do from the hotel. This is a major point as the traffic in Ogunquit can be brutal. The lawn over looks the ocean and town beach. So in addition to a lovely view you have a cooling ocean breeze. It is especially nice for July 4th because you are just a few hundred feet from the very good fireworks display put on by the town. If you are looking on line at the hotel, you should understand that the facility is better than it looks in photos. It is probably the cleanest place that I have ever stayed at and my wife and I book into some rather high quality B&Bs. It is not a fancy place, but you have everything that you need for a lovely stay. I must also comment on the staff. They are very friendly and hard working. There is a very pleasant "vibe" to the hotel. It is clear that the guests are enjoying themselves and the staff is dedicated to making that stay a very good one for all. read more

We stayed here for a weekend, and we loved it. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Room; Very clean, Great view. We stood in the King room in the main building. We will be back. Everthing is nearby. For breakfast they did not have eggs, i asked. They politely said "no but if you bring some we gladly would cook them for you". Very pleasant. Just came back from 5 days at this lovely place. We stayed in Suite 233 which was awesome. It was basically an apartment with a beautiful ocean view. This was our first visit to Ogunquit and certainly not the last. The staff were all very professional and courteous from check in, housekeeping and check out. This place is close to everything yet set back from the road which made it peaceful. I highly recommend and plan on returning. read more

Clean Clean Clean. Staff was AWSOME! Rooms are updated, comfortable beds, no weird smells, great breakfast from 7-10. Coffee, juice, breads, granola fresh fruits. Pool is small but there is plenty of chairs, tables etc. Property is immaculate! Unbelievable landscaping. It's a perfect location to see the Ogunquit beach! Rooms are expensive (you get what you pay for). The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because the WiFi is Terrible!!! DON'T plan on relying on it if you have work to do. read more

We stayed here for our 3rd wedding anniversary. Denied dinner at 8:50 because they had a large party and were 'working too hard' as i was told. The hotel itself is the perfect walking location to everything. The Room had NO MIRRORS. Literally drove 20 minutes to a Walmart to purchase a mirror. Bath towels are VERY small and thin. Hot tub closes at 10, restaurant closes at 8:45 even though the door says 9. restaurant staff is pretty rude. When we arrived i Asked a red head girl at the desk if they had a room upgrade and if we could stay 2 days longer(we booked last minute so i thought id ask) and she said 'if ur looking for something cheaper come back in the off season. I explained it wasn't about the price i just would have liked a room closer to the water. She was obnoxious. We were in the little house across the street. Feels very separate but its cute. Parking here is awful. Pray you have a spot. No freezer in fridge, no hand soap. Theres no garbage in the bathroom. Also the shades are really the only source of good light but theres no sheer shade so unless you want zero privacy you're pretty much sitting in the dark. Also no vanity in bathroom, difficult to get ready as a woman. Comfy bed. Design of room kinda sucks, and staff is super rude. The drinks at the bar are over priced and basically non alcoholic. When we walked in before even sitting we were carded then carded again to order food. There was a bald man working the lawns and pool who was SO nice, props to him for being a gentleman. Also spiked hair lady in the bottom bar was friendly. So thank you to her. No internet connection at all here. I would say i would come back only if the entire staff had a serious attitude adjustment. Didn't feel welcomed at all. Too pricey for such crappy non amenities. The room lacked basic necessities and the staff lacked manners and common sense. read more

Just spent a week at terrace by the sea.Couldn't ask for more from a hotel,everything was first class.The housekeeping staff was first rate.I would especially like to compliment the front desk staff,Lisa ,Erin and the rest of the staff,they couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.We always celebrate our anniversary at the Terrace,thanks to the staff it was a great week.Looking forward to next year. read more

My friends and I booked a room at The Terrace by the Sea for my 21st birthday celebration last weekend. Upon arrival at the hotel we knew we had picked a good one, given the great location within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants, as well as the beach. Not to mention the incredible view from the main building's lawn (with plenty of lawn chairs for all to enjoy!) The room was standard, with two decent sized, comfy beds, a clean bathroom and nice porch to sit out on in the morning. It was private enough to return back without feeling like loud, rude people; but wasn't a 'luxury' or 'private' room option with an up-charge. We enjoyed an all you can eat complimentary breakfast which offered: bagels, toast, english muffins, mini-muffins, cereals, granola, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea...we sat inside because it was a busy point for the buffet, but there are adorable bistro style tables both indoor and outdoor to enjoy your meal at. A wonderful deal at only $167. for the night -- we will be staying here again! read more
