After being surprised by Josef's approximately $900 quote to replace the movement of the watch (a standard quartz movement that itself is available for sale online for ~$40) I took the watch to JR Dunn in Pompano--an authorized Tag dealer and repair shop, where Josef's is not--and was quoted less than $300 to have the entire job done, by Tag themselves, with a warranty. Shamelessly quoting 3x a certified dealer for the exact same job is outrageous.

I had jewelry on consignment with Bentley Jewelers when the business closed. When it re-opened, I inquired about the jewelry but only received abuse, as if it was my fault and I should have sympathy with the problems of the new management. They promised to put it in a nice little box. They told me they had to make a special 'hidden clasp' for the pendant to make it look right. I paid them ahead of time and waited a week ( they were going on vacation), then 2 weeks, then 3 weeks. When I called they couldn't find the order and finally said 'he's working on it now'. A week later the wife picked it up ( in a plastic bag), no 'hidden clasp' they just opened the pendant enough for the chain to fit through. Caveat emptor with this family.... Steve.... Where is the 'hidden bail" you charged me $125 for?‍ Just so people understand what a hidden Bail is... you cut gold out of my pendant to make room for the chain instead of putting on the bail you quoted. I prefer to settle things publicly You literally quoted me on the hidden bail, charged me for it and then took gold out of my wife's pendant ( no bail).
