This is the worst gun shop I have been too. The ladies who run the place and very rude and act like they know it all. In fact they know nothing. The tried to sell me a gun that I did not want and then over charged me when I tried to get the gun I actually wanted. The place smells of mould and the floor will fall anytime. There is dust in every corner. The guy who runs the archery shop is Ok but has very limited selection. His prices are 10 to 20 percent higher for things that I wanted. This is exactly the same experience I had with these owners... One person there will tell you one thing and then another will do something totally different... And then... when I returned... and found out that they had screwed up... and tried to explain their inconsistency... and the female owner blamed ME. And then the brother owner in an email would not admit this screw up. Based on the 2013 review by Lew, over 10 years ago, and my recent experience... this appears to be a long term issue with these owners... You think that they would have read Lew's review and done something about it...but no... So I am warning you... they still have this problem. this shop is the worst place I have ever attempted to do business with in in my life. The owner, a woman, I don't recall her name was the nastiest, most demeaning person I have ever dealt with in my life. I called prior to coming up as I needed to purchase a scope for my new, 22 caliber rifle. When I called, I spoke with the gentleman that was evidently her brother, gave him all the specifications of my gun, told him what I was looking for, and if they were able to accommodate me and what is it that I needed to bring with me to accomplish this. there was never any mention whatsoever of bringing a plate and as I said, this is my first scope and I am new with this. When I got there, the brother was not there, but another boy waited on me and asked me where my plate was, in which I had no idea. I am new to this, and was not aware, and was not told anything about a plate from the guy I talked to prior on the phone.. We went over to the counter where the owner was and he pulled out a a scope to shoe me. The owner was beyond nasty. Besides, the nasty looking on her face and the attitude in her voice, she said to me, where is your plate, they come in the box with the gun. It's in the bag with the instructions and the lock. I said it's probably still in the box, that I had called before and asked what I needed to bring with me and she told me that he should not have had to tell me to bring the plate, that they assume their customers have enough sense to already know to bring the plate. what a way to talk to a customer that's getting ready to spend money at your store. The most helpful nasty people I have ever dealt with. Clydes might be a little farther down the road but they are very helpful nice courteous, and never dome you when you don't know something they explain things to you I would say take the extra drive to Clydes sports shop, The Gun Shack is disgusting in his treatment of customers read more

This place has average selection, but poor employee training and the worst customer service I've ever encountered: no exaggeration. Poor training is exhibited by this fact: One employee told me that today was my deadline to purchase an AR-15 (so that i could take possession by October 1) while another employee told me that I could purchase any day before October 1 and take possession after October 1. I went in to gun shack to get my brand new bow sighted and my draw length measured. I am a beginner and have never shot a bow before. All of The staff were warm and welcoming. The gentlemen that sighted and measured me gave me some helpful tips on stance and sighting. I live in DC and will definitely be returning to gun shack for all of my archery needs. read more

I bought my first recurve bow here, and got some accessories as well. Bob was incredibly helpful, coaching me as I shot the bow and patiently helping me sort through what arrows worked best for me and other things related to the purchase. I was impressed with how helpful he was. Nice little target range for the bow upstairs. read more

My husband and I love this shop. We drive an hour each direction every couple of months to go here and have purchased many items from them. When we first became bow and gun owners we found their advice and instruction to be very helpful. This statement is especially true when it comes to archery purchasing and maintance. This is the place to go if you care about archery. We have also purchased a gun from this location and found the transaction to be without problems. As far as the complaints about the AR15s from the other reviewers go, all I can say is when the laws changed on the purchasing of AR15s everything went haywire at every gun store we went to. It was unclear what the law was saying and we found that anyone who could get an AR15 of any kind was lucky because many people were scrambling for them and unable to purchase. That rush is over and I would definitely consider this shop if you are interested in purchasing a gun. read more

Bought an Ar15 and what was given to me was a California model of the gun which has a "bullet button"( look it up) was not the gun I first looked at and wanted but was what I received and did not notice til I got home.
