I had an appointment for 12 noon, which was supposed to be the only way to get in. A tall guy with glasses came out and asked why I was there, I explained I was looking for a certain gun and wanted to look around. He said there would be a wait as the store was small. I was ok with that. Within several minutes, guys started showing up, total of 6, one of which stated he also had a 12 noon appointment. Odd, if there is so little room, why were two appointments made at noon. Ten minutes later, another guy came out, tall, hefty, & young asking if anyone was there to pick up or buy ammo, he let two guys in. I stated that I had a 12 noon appointment and if the store is small, why were they allowed to go in ahead of me. He responded, very sarcastically, that I would be let in when a few people leave. Another 15 minutes minutes go by, so I had waited with my appointment 30 minutes and was finally allowed in. The tall guy wearing glasses asked what I was looking for and showed me where the shotguns were. He was very nice told me that they didn't have the model I wanted, that I should check around. I told him I had been informed that I could place an order & leave a deposit. He talked me out of stating that they never know when a gun is going to arrive and they don't know what the price will be. Confused, I asked why about the price. He explained supply demand, the shotgun mayone price today and a few hundred dollars more when it arrives. After the wait, dealing with the jerk employee, and hearing that, I figured this was not the place for me, even tho I needed some ammo for my Glock, I wasn't going to give them any of my money. This place is so small, I can't understand why anyone would go there. When I looked it up on Goggle Maps, I could see it was small, but seriously, a dog kennel is bigger. Let me reiterate that the tall guy wearing glasses was super friendly and helpful, he should work elsewhere. I looked up another shop literally several blocks down called Guns Direct. I had no appointment, waited only 5 minutes outside and a very pleasant young lady asked me in. She explained about various companies, the supply issues, and that they no longer took deposits due to the unknown. She was very nice, informative, and cared more about me and my business. Overall this place is okay. They have a lot of neat range toys and I've bought 2 guns from them in the past. To me it seems that depending when you go to the store, you get a different experience. I've been there at times where the staff is really cool, let you hold some guns and ask questions but I've also seen the short tempered, indifferent staff that don't care about you unless you're picking up or are a serious buyer. It seems to me lately like this business has been through a lot of revenue-minded changes in staff/management. read more

I originally went to Gun World to buy magazines, at the moment I was in the market for a pistol. I saw that they had A Sig Sauer MK25 without the loaded chamber indicator, those aren't allowed in CA anymore but they had them grandfathered. I put a down payment and got a brand new Sig Mk25. Mike Smirke helped through the process but you can honestly go to anyone there, the staff is very knowledgeable. I purchased a Remington 700 .308 bolt and action. While I called multiple stores for just this item they kept trying to pressure me to buy a whole Remington 700 rifle. They didn't bother to ask any questions but tried to up sell me. Once again I went to Gun World and Mike Smirke helped me out again, and gave me advice on my rifle build. The store is small and cramp but hey their selection is great, if they don't have it more than likely they can get it for you. Now the prices, it's a supply and demand thing, they're establish and can get a lot of good guns there that other stores can't. If you're just going to complain and say you can get it cheaper some where else then ask that other store for their help, but like I stated before more than likely they can get you for what you're looking for. The staff is great when their not busy you can't chat with any of them for a few mins or hours to get some knowledge from these guys. Now if you for some reason come while they're busy they might seem unaproachable but they're not, they're just busy. They will eventually help you. This gun store has to be the worst one by customer service of all the other stores that I have been to. I called in asking to see if they have any Glock29 magazines available, and was told that he could not help me out because he is busy doing something else. I asimply asked him can some one else look to see if they have any in stock and the simple answer i got was no if you want to come into the store your are then welcome to. Like seriously? I simply told him i live 20 miles away and i dont want to drive all that way just to see if you have the magazine in stock. Got a answer of sorry i cant help you! Thats reason me calling is to see if you have the product im looking for in stock so i dont have to drive 20 miles one way for nothing. Hi everyone, just wanted to leave my honest experience, I purchased an item sometime ago and decided it wasn't the right fit for what I needed I knew I was outside of my reasonable return window and did not expect much, I decided to then give GunWorld a call to ask if possible to exchange or get some kind of credit for my item. A nice and very friendly individual by the name of Mike answered the phone when I called and I explained to him my situation he was knowledgeable and let me know to stop by the store and that they would see what can be done in person. Upon my arrival, I noticed the new location and new store it feels very premium it's definitely a place where you want to buy your next firearm or anything related, the atmosphere inside is awesome friendly staff which greet you right away and ask if you need help with anything they make you feel at home and very comfortable. I asked for Mike, and he came to the front and addressed my situation in a very professional and friendly manner shook my hand and I was able to actually get what I was looking for I did not expect much however GunWorld went above and beyond to help me out I also ended picking up a fingrip by strike industries best one. I recommend supporting your local shops it's important and you will be treated nicely by knowledgeable staff and you are able to actually see the item you are trying to purchase in your hands not some website that doesn't even have a phone number. Before scrolling down and reading other reviews, read this very recent and very accurate review. This was my very first gun purchase so I called and made an appointment (highly recommend) once I got there I took a seat and waited for someone to come out (be patient, all that paperwork takes forever and they legally can't have as many people as they would like inside). Once they noticed that I was a fresh face, they asked if I had an appointment, I said yes I do and gave them my name. Now there was probably like 5-6 people waiting when I showed up and I instantly was able to go in, allot of people got huffy and puffy about that but they clearly say and recommend making an appointment because they have first priority. Once I entered I was shown around and asked what I was looking for a mentioned that I'm fairly new to firearms and want something that's easy to use but also easy to maintain. The salesman Edgar was super helpful! He recommended a few HK's and a few Glocks and I said that I was looking for a 17. He said I've got something even better, I have a Glock 34, he handed it over to me and it was meant to be. I handed him all of my information and mandatory paperwork along with my credit card. Paid, signed, showed proof and I was done. Now before my exit everyone, and I mean everyone was very very professional. No one was rude, pushy, or prejudice. I'm a Hispanic male in my late 20's. They recommended I wait until the DROS date and time before calling to pick up my firearm. As impatient as I am, and because I work about 10 minutes away I thought hey why don't I just stop by and see if they'll let me pick it up. So when day 10 rolled around I just stopped by, and since I was a walk-in I knew the consequences (literally plastered on every exterior wall) that state if your a walk in you are not a priority because appointments are first serve and wait times can very between 1-3 hours. After waiting about 5 minutes a gentleman came out and asked if I had an appointment and what I was in need of. I mentioned to him I didn't have an appointment and I needed to pick up, he took my paperwork and was gone for about 10 minutes. Once he returned he said cool your DROS is approved and I'll try and get you in as soon as possible, I appreciate everyone's patience. Again, extremely professional. About 20 minutes later I was asked to enter, quickly greeted by friendly staff I was escorted to the front to finalize all my paperwork and pick her up. Since they had my paperwork and I had pre paid it was easy peasy. Noel (I think that was his name) was honestly the reason I'll be a forever customer super cool dude with a beard. We talked for a bit about other stuff and he mentioned he was a barber (just small talk) he was also really helpful when it came to purchasing ammo. I couldn't help but to ask him how they have such bad reviews, I said it's like the total opposite of what your expectations are after reading all the bad reviews. He mentioned that the staff has changed quite a bit and most of the reviewers are very very impatient and they wish they could please everyone but with COVID restrictions it has taken a huge hit on their customer satisfaction. I get it, everyone wants what they want and they want it now, I'm the same way, but come on these guys are doing there best with limited staff and extremely regulated restrictions. If I can recommend anything out of this experience, it would be that someone leaving a bad review about the inevitable way the world works isn't fair to the business and sometimes you need to go find out for yourself before writing them off. This place sucks! Went to trade in a gun, brand new mp 40 shield, paid $475 for it, haven't even fired it yet...they offered me $200 store credit, seriously?! their trade in program is a joke. Let me trade it in for or a little less than what it's worth, especially since I was going to buy a gun that cost way more and buy alot of ammo from them. I hate to think how low the offer would be if I tried to sell it to them. While I was waiting outside they told one guy they couldn't sell him a gun cause they were too busy, and he didn't have an appt. They're the only gun store still operating by "appointment only" and even if you have one you still have to wait a long time. Burbank Guns and Ammo is first come first serve, so is Guns Direct. Complete joke of a company. They have some small half ass canopy for all their customers to sit and get scorched by the sun for hours. My friend and I were told to wait outside in the back along with the other customers until it is our turn. My friend and I waited for about an hour for it to become our turn and for them to tell us sorry it's appointments only. Then he said wait maybe it's ok to come in ans then says no never mind it's appointments only. What losers. Figure out how to run a store and have respect for peoples time. Wow, has this place stocked up in the last year! In their back room it is wall to wall AKs, ARs (Pistols & Rifles), Pistols, Shotguns, and tons of accessories. They definitely make good use out of the limited space that they have. I was here today conducting my third PPT, and as always the counter staff was friendly, and helpful. In addition to the DOJ mandated $25 (DROS) + $10 (Dealer Fee), they require you to buy one their price inflated locks ($20) to fulfill the DOJ FSD requirement, so the total for a transfer ends up being $55, rather than the "typical" $35. Some people will that it's their way of getting more money for PPTs, and their probably is some truth to that. I would prefer that rather then gauging you $20 for a lock that is just going to be thrown into a box with all the others, that thy charge a reasonable amount (say $5), and encourage you to buy something else from them. I wouldn't say that's they're the worst place for PPTs, but they're definitely not the best. Is $20 too much to pay for a relatively hassle free PPT? They're prices aren't the cheapest either, but they seem to be willing to deal with serious customers. In the end it's up to you to decide, but I'll continue to go here until some place better. read more

I have bought 3 guns from Gun World. I luckily knew exactly what I wanted when I went in. I have to say out of all the gun stores I have bought from or looked around in this place has some of the WORST employees working there. They seem to look down on anyone with any questions.... unless your an attractive women, then they seem to be nice. I have only asked about 5 questions in my 10+ years going here as they alway talk to me like I'm an idiot and most of the time they never give me the answer I'm looking for. I have sent friends there without telling hem how bad the employees are as o know they have the guns they were looking for. Unfortunately, I had a good experience in the beginning of my trip to GUN WORLD but a horrible experience at the end of my sale. I'm giving you guys 5 starts because of Chris and the other guy at the counter when I was checking out. Both were super helpful and knowledgeable for someone as much of a novice as my self. The guy that was a real jerk was a latino man wearing a hat and glasses today checking me out. I'm describing him so management can have a chat with him about how he treated me today. At first he was actually pretty cool. I was asking him questions and he was cordially answering them. Then it went south when a woman came and cleared the register he was on by mistake. I used to work in retail so I know a bit of how this stuff works. She cleared the register and instead of reprinting my store receipt he only gave me a CC receipt and then walked off. FYI a store will not exchange anything for you if they don't have the official store receipt. I followed him and asked if this was the only receipt I was supposed to get and he said "oh no I can print you the official receipt, just wait for me at the other counter." He had already started helping another customer though. His first mistake was not just reprinting me my receipt when he was standing right in front of me. Instead he just chose to be lazy or he was felling rushed IDK. Then instead of telling the new customer that he was helping to wait a minute so he could take care of me he made me wait for about 5 minutes. That was mistake number two. So after 5 minutes I went and found him again and he was still helping the other customer so I had to track him down to get the heck out of there. Finally he gives me the official store receipt and the cc receipt and when I asked him to staple them together he hands me a stapler and puts both receipts on the counter. So of course at that point we had some words and he tried to gaslight me and tells me "If you want respect you've got to give respect". What about the respect he should've given me in the first place when I paid and he didn't give me the proper receipts? He actually chose to disrespect me even more after that by then making me wait. Then to add insult to injury he says to me in the most sarcastic unapologetic tone you can imagine, "Oh you mean I made a mistake, I'm soooooorrrryyyy". I mean like I said I've worked in retail and I have the utmost respect for retail employees because I know the type of stuff that I've had to put up with. This was not that. He messed up not me and then he punished me for being somewhat impatient after 5 minutes of waiting, when I never should've had to wait in the first place! His behavior was just unacceptable. I didn't deserve to be treated that way after I just spent money at your store. What's worse is he didn't even have the humility to say to me "ya know what I messed up and I'm sorry" and really see the error of his ways. Instead he was just sarcastic, rude and tried to blame me for HIS mistake. He just had too large of an ego to admit he was in the wrong. Terrible customer service, beyond redeemable because of the attitude of every last person there. Today I went to pick up a gun I paid for at the old facility a couple of weeks ago. To get that done, I had to wait one hour and 45 minutes in line, for something that should take five minutes. Unnecessarily wasting someone's time is like stealing, and they moved to this big new facility but made no effort before or after to figure out how they might actually serve customers. The employees have contempt for their customers. They seemed to be in no rush, even though they could see the long line of people standing there for hours. The few people working the counters chit-chatted, wasting time during and between customers, and made the dozens of people in line wait even more while they tried an upsell on each person. A few times I asked one of the employees strolling around the floor to do something about the line, since it was going too slow (for the first half hour I stood there watching the line only get longer). One jerk turned his back on me in the middle of my sentence and started conversing with another employee as if I weren't even there. No one, let alone a man, should behave with passive aggressive bitch-like behavior like this. I would have felt much less disrespected had he simply said, "I hate you and don't want to talk to you anymore! And you're ugly!" before walking away than for him to treat me like he did. Maybe they won't miss the one handgun per year I buy, but I won't make the trip here anymore. read more

Helped me with my questions and was non-persuasive and non threatening. Was not pushy at all. Just purchased a Daniel Defense V7, but not from Gun World. We walked in and patiently waited our turn for someone to help us. Instead, we watched new customers get served first. One customer (first time gun buyer, didn't know difference between 9mm and 45 cal) was helped by 2 different employees at once. Overpriced, terrible service. Their prices are absolutely not MSRP. Don't ignore negative reviews. Guns are just randomly thrown around the store and have no real sense of arrangement. This is about as bad as it gets for gun stores. If you decide to go anyway because there are some high scores here, odds are very high that you'll regret it. I had a gun shipped here that they hadn't "checked in" for a week by the time I arrived. The owner, who's innovation in new ways to be rude and condescending was shockingly impressive, had "no idea" when any of the inventory he'd received would be checked in, including my gun. How could I begin the process of getting my gun? He shrugged. I would certainly allow for some chaos at a place that had a ton of business relating to some panic buying, but this place was managed so poorly that increased business had them leaving firearm inventory to sit in their shop without being so much as looked at let alone transferred to rightful owners. Mark, one of the employees there, was absolutely awesome with helping me purchase accessories I needed for a training course, as well as purchasing a new gun. He showed me lots of great options and different models so I could make the most informed decision based on what I told him I was looking for and what best fit my grip. I came to buy a AR15 part and as I went to check out I handed the super overweight slob of a employee in a 5XL Orange t shirt and asked him "how's your day going?" He quickly tells the his day to a old man sitting right the counter, completely ignoring me trying to make small talk. He Proceeds to have a 5 min side conversation about a broken down car as I'm trying to pay making me wait. Mind you he does not look at me in the eye the whole time I'm there. I just recently got my ruger American here, everything was perfect, no hiccups no nothing. I do remember seeing the manager there when I went to go do my paperwork so maybe I just came in at the right time with that being said, my experience does not reflect what others have posted. These guys were professional, knowledgeable, and had a great selection, showed me some other variants as well as other guns chambered in the same caliber. You do pay a little bit of a mark up compared to other stores, but it's commiefornia these stores have to make their money some how so I get it. Only reason I'm giving a 4 star is because I did call for a very particular model before going and they said they had it, when I got there it suddenly was gone lol. Not too big a deal for me but maybe for others this might be a problem. I will continue to go here and post my experiences, but for now they have a customer here! read more

My Marine buddy suggested I stop by Gun World to purchase my 1st gun, so I came in to buy a gun over a month ago and still waiting to pick it up. They mentioned a delay, so initially the wait was going to be 11-14 days - okay, no problem at all. After 16 days I called at 11:15am just to try and get a status check and was greeted with "I mean we just opened but what can I help you with". Not sure how you can spend $2k+ and get treated so rudely. If I ever get my firearm I won't ever be returning. read more
