Redfern did a fabulous job for us! We had several dead or dying trees removed in our back yard and had several trees trimmed so they no longer hang over the roof. They did a really nice job of cutting up my large downed oak tree. They left the giant trunk cut up by the curb. I expected it to be removed. Apparently that's not part of the service. I'm 70, I can't remove a couple tons of wood. On follow up, someone forgot to schedule the pickup. It apparently will be done tomorrow. read more

They have always done a great job and taken great care not to damage any other trees/buildings/structures while they were working. Just this past week we had them remove two trees that were in very difficult places - one was right next to a fence and over a flower garden and the other tree was about 5 feet behind a storage shed in our backyard. It is very hard to find a good tree company that is both efficient and cleans up after themselves! have had three people/companies work on trees surrounding my house. The first team literally left all the logs and stumps and stopped working. The second didn't even do stump grinding. This company however, does all three, and efficiently. We dealt with Amir and his guys came bright and early (on time) and they finished taking down 13 trees in exceptional time and they came back next day to haul all the logs away. We took down about 13 trees on three properties, most were dead from the inside and/or dangerous. Stump grinding was done third day and they did all of it very fast as well. They even took out the stumps from my previous hire and THEN we asked them for a small extra fee to move all the tree mulch to my upper level retainer wall with a sinkhole. Not only did they do it all for us, but they also spreaded all the mulch to cover the entire space. They also transported the rest of the mulch to our nearby office for us. This is the Best tree removal service in the city. Saturday night a large Canadian maple came down in my driveway, on Monday morning it was all gone and when Redfern finished it looked as if nothing happened at all! Bravo to Redfern and their excellent crew. When I had a disaster hit one of my rental homes a few years ago, a straight line wind, just a notch below a twister in velocity, Redfern was my go to service provider and the resources they could bring to remove (7) trees from the Roof, decking and grounds were impressive. One day later, except for the severe damage to the house, all the trees were removed, property was cleaned and everything looked great. Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for any tree service work! Redfern was a huge disappointment and was way overpriced! I made the mistake by hiring them to take down 8 trees on my property. I had to terminate the job after the first day and have another company finish it. Redfern showed zero respect for my property when they were taking down the trees and when operating their equipment. For example, a small area of my property was a bit damp which easily could have been avoided. But instead of avoiding the area or using protective boards when driving there, they were using it as a 'playground' with their bobcat and turned the area into a huge mud pit. I brought this up with the owner (Azur) who immediately (without even seeing any of the damages) refused to admit any wrongdoing and did not even offer to come out and look at the damages or to perform any repairs. I was so shocked by his attitude and he left me with no other option than to terminate the job and have another company take down the remaining trees. - Overpriced - they were 30% more expensive than some of their competitors (which were also were fully insured) - Poor communication - no upfront communication when the crew was going to show up - Horrible customer service - the owner refused to admit any wrongdoing and to do things right - Poor workmanship - the crew caused damages to my property and left debris and other trash behind read more

My experience with this company was terrible. I called and set up an appointment to have a quote provided for some trees in my backyard with the secretary. She provided a confirmation through text and told me to expect a specialist to come out on the agreed day between 2 and 4. They would call when they were on the way. On the day of the appointment I realize that it's 3 pm and I haven't heard anything so I text the attendant who noted my appointment date and time to confirm that the appointment is still scheduled. She responds and tells me "I see here that you were on the schedule but I just asked the owner who is going out to do that estimate and he said we no longer serve Smyrna area he said it's too far for us and it doesn't pay off I'm sorry I had no idea until now". Thanks Emma for the heads up on the day of it's a shame you didn't know the areas the company you work for services. Who cares about the fact that I've taken off work to accommodate for this appointment , my time doesn't matter right? I'm happy I decided to reach out before wasting anymore of my time with these people. They clearly value customers or care about their time. Scheduled them to come out and give me a quote for removing some trees between 12:00 and 3:00. They sent me an email first thing that morning wanting ME to verify that I would be at home. I positively responded that I would be here. A little after 3:00 and they have neither called or arrived to my house. So, I called their receptionist "Emmy" to find out if they were still coming and she assured me they were and that "he was probably just running a little late". We made a couple of more calls that afternoon: still they never showed up or even let us know they were not coming. Instead they kept us on the hook all day and never got back with us. I decided that this says a lot about their character and that they are not the type of people I want give my business. Therefore, I am going elsewhere. read more

We had three pine trees that were diseased, with one that had recently shed a significant amount of bark to reveal some really scary rot beneath. We shopped around and got several estimates. Amir at Redfern was professional, prompt and communicated well. Their quotes was among the lowest and was certainly the best combination of price with being prompt, communicating clearly, and discussing options/considerations. I told him that we were not worried about the yard, so not to add any expense or trouble in preserving the yard. We gave them the "go ahead on Friday and had the trees gone by early Monday afternoon. We opted to leave the stumps, and they cut them quite close to the ground - basically flush. The badly-rotted tree was very near two houses and was probably unsafe to climb, so required a "cherry picker" to get up into. I expected the adjacent peach tree would be destroyed, but other than one small scar, they didn't even knock the flowers off the tree. There are some divots in the yard, but considering that I made it clear I didn't care, they left very little damage (partly due to our hard red clay!). All-in-all I recommend. "Phil S's" review seems a bit unfair as it seems to have been a case of miscommunication of expectations - Refern is a *Tree* company, and they do a good job with trees. read more

We had 5 very large Oak Trees in our backyard which is fenced in and on a hillside with no access. The large amount of rain that we have experienced since November and the high winds concerned us. We got multiple estimates and chose Red Fern based on the professionalism and insurance. We called on Monday, they showed up promptly at 8AM with trucks and 9 workers. They worked steadily only pausing for 45 minute lunch. They removed portions of our fence which they replaced upon finishing the job. They are definitely knowledgeable and experienced. They carted the large parts away but shredded the smaller ones, they cleaned up to the point that you cannot tell they were here except for the missing trees. They finished at 6PM. Extremely rude office manager - name is Isiah (not sure on the spelling). what most owners don't know if these companies need to have proper licensing, permits pulled, insurance that cover both workers or independent contractors or they are on your property at your peril. Google lawsuits on owners free tree companies! Homeowners have lost millions. She was obnoxious, refused to answer any questions about the insurance they themselves posted on the their own website. It said N (no or n/a) under workers comp and kept saying unless i want an estimate she was hanging up on me and did. It is imperative to know if they have proper insurance for their employees (IF that is how they are hired) or independent contractors if that is how they are hired. read more

We've been using Redfern Tree Service for 7 years. Both Amir and Azur are so knowledgeable and easy to work with. We use them for our personal property recommended them to the Board of our HOA. So, we discovered after trying to dig a shallow swale for runoff that the stump grinding only went a couple inches beneath the surface. They offered to come assess and fix the issue, so I only dropped one star. The landscaper found a work-around, so I told them not to bother. I have more trees to remove, though, and I'm not sure who I will use at this point. When I ask for stump removal, I expect that they will at least go 8-12" as I don't really want holes opening up in my yard a few years down the line, and in this case, we dug less than 5" down before being unable to continue. read more

I honestly never leave Yelp reviews. We were weary of tree companies but found great reviews of this company so we had them come out to our house. They gave an extremely fair quote, which almost made us wonder if it was too good to be true. It wasn't, we were so completely impressed. They came right on time, worked through the rain, and cleaned up, even sprayed clean the street when they were finished you would have never known they had been there. I hired them to take down a tree and also to clear some weed growth along the edge of my fence (5' wide x 80'long). They did a great job of taking down the tree but a miserable job of clearing the land. I asked them to clear the weed and vine growth so I could sod the space, and all they did was take a chainsaw and cut off the weeds/vines about 2" off the ground (it took 45 minutes) and charged me $375. When I talked to the owner, he said if I wanted it to be all gone, it would have taken grading work, which would have cost much more. When I asked for the quote, I told them to get rid of all the growth. Cutting with a chainsaw didnt cut it. It has been 3 weeks and the vines/weeds are over 1' tall already. So, morale of the story is, hire them to take down trees, but don't hire them for anything else, they aren't competent and will not address your issues read more

I had Redfern remove two very large trees and trim back two others. They arrived on the agreed upon date and time. The crew was very friendly. They removed a tree that had grown over my house and did a great job of not damaging the house or any of the plants surrounding the tree. They were very careful and marked all the sprinkler heads before they started so they would not land anything on them. They even took the wood and made a bench for me!!!!! New to Georgia I called RedFern for an estimate to clean up two Bradford Pear Tree's that were damaged during the ice storm in February. Azur came out within one day of the request spent time explaining options for the two tree's plus others. I recently used RedFern Tree Service and can't say enough great things about this Company. The Owner/Operator Azur came out to give me a quote. He was very knowledgeable and had suggestions I had not thought of. The Crew was great, professional and quick. They showed up on time and after the Crew Lead and I went over the work to be done they immediately started. Upon removing the trees and brush we found an additional tree that couldn't be seen until they removed everything. I called the office and Katrina (the best!) was able to get Azur to have his crew lead tell him what it was and gave me a great price to remove that one also while they were there. My yard looks great and all my trees pruned up look perfect (not a chop job). I would recommend them to any family member or friend that is looking for quality work.
