I walked in and Martin said hello welcome to Brooks Brothers let me know if I can help you today? I showed him a text with a picture of a shirt label from my best friend and Martin found 8 shirts ! He was able to check inventory from other locations with intent to have the stores mail the dress shirts to a home address. Serviceable, convenient and superior customer service. It was always a huge deal to walk into BB while visiting San Fran...have people wait on you, a tailor's tape measure around their neck at all times. Now look, I'm not saying I expect to be offered champagne or wine a la Tiffany's, but I expect way more than what was offered at this location in terms of customer service (did I tell you I went around Christmas...oh I didn't?). We walk into this large, beautiful outlet location in San Marcos on Monday (12/17) about 4:00 p.m. Not many people in the store, including customer service representatives. I think I only saw two...for a store that size heading into Christmas - are you kidding me? The store had a very "fend for yourself" to all our pre-labeled, pre-sorted sizes in the bins, atmosphere. God forbid had I been really searching for someone's time to have a suit, blazer, etc. measured and fit. When I did finally flag someone down, the questions I asked the young representative, in my opinion, were not answered in a way befitting of such a reputable, prestigious clothing company. And, as stated before, there's no way the reps would have had "the time" or the focus to really cater to a serious shopper. There is history all over the walls, and you can see this is a beloved family run institution. That immediately made me feel good. Everyone in the store is also extremely friendly and helpful, the service is top notch. I had signed up for an appointment for a fitting, and I had a very specific suit color in mind (dark hunter green). I knew this wasn't the most common color for a suit, and I was a little nervous because I've never been through the tailoring experience before. Matt came over and walked me through everything, he helped me pick out not only the suit that is perfect for what I was looking for but he also helped me find a shirt, tie, belt and shoes. He was with me every step of the way. My suit had to be ordered and altered since it's not a common off the rack color, the team at Penner's kept in touch with me the whole time. I never had any doubt that I was in good hands, and any questions I had were answered fully. The price for everything was also extremely fair in my opinion. I fully endorse Penner's if you're looking for suits, clothes, shoes or anything else wearable. There's a big selection, and it's not just suits they also have just about anything for men's wear. A great selection, and a family owned business. I feel very fortunate to have Penner's in town and I will be back!

We had just completed our Twisted Sisters run and instead of heading to the hotel decided to visit Bandera. Place isn't huge but has a nice selection of women's and men's clothes. Cowboy garb like Ariat, Stetson, and Wrangler. Boots from Roper, Justin, and Tony Lama. We shopped for a good 20-30 minutes but came up empty for this trip. Prices were on par with big city chains. No small town markup! Main reason for this review is we were just treated rather poorly just down the street at the local antique mall. The Cowboy Store..these folks are super friendly! I went out to find a buddy and was greeted twice; they are genuine and if I would have found something I wouldn't have hesitated to support this business. Might also help if Texas knew what season it's in for the rest of this year!
