However, after completing the transaction, I received only $0.10 off. I showed the clerk the app's display, and we both took screenshots. The clerk said she would report the issue to her team leader and recommended I do the same. When I contacted the corporation, they explained that a system glitch caused the app to display the $1 discount in error. To address this, they offered compensation of $0.15 off. I explained that if the app displayed the amount, whether in error or not, it should be honored. According to their policy, they never made an award for that amount, and do not have to honor the price. I feel devalued as a customer and taken advantage of. They did offer to increase the award amount to $0.25, but still very dismissive of my concern. Given that we are in a crisis with the price of gas, the dismissive attitude was unappreciated.

But the owner is rarely in the store. They do everything possible not to issue the refund. If you are an out of towner you are out of luck. After about ten calls and four trips, they gave me partial refund. Very unethical business.
