Our server couldn't have been more friendly and outgoing. She was swamped (it was prom night with lots of formally clad students dining in) but never broke a sweat, never made us feel rushed or unattended and had a big smile from ear to ear throughout. I can't remember her name but I believe she is one of the owners daughters - and she's a real asset to the restaurant. My husband had a combination platter with all the favorites - enchiladas, taco, and a tamale, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I opted for something that was a little less---well, you know----but when in Rome---don't eat the spinach and mushrooms----get the tacos, savor the enchiladas. They know what they're doing and next visit I will lean into their expertise, enhanced by another Mexican martini. Buen provecho!

Burros Tex Mex Bar and Grill is a great, casual spot in Round Rock to grab some Tex Mex classics…read more.. it isn't going to blow your mind but you can fill up on the complimentary chips and salsa, cheese enchiladas and quesadillas, and plenty of rice and beans. It's a little overpriced for what it is but it gets the job done. FAST FACTS: * Parking - lot out from of the building with plenty of spots * Happy Hour - couldn't find updated days and hours but they do have HH specials * Lunch specials from 11 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday SERVICE - We arrived around 6:30 pm on a Monday and they weren't busy at all (although it was Cinco de Mayo and they got busier as the night went on). We were seated right away and had complimentary chips and salsa brought to the table immediately (they're very mediocre). Our server, Fatima, made sure we had refills throughout the meal and the food came out quickly. PRICING - The total was $65.45 after tax ($4.99) but before tip for a Burros queso ($10.49), shredded chicken quesadilla ($14.99), Javier's plate ($17.49), and carne asada ($17.49). For basic Tex Mex, it seemed a little overpriced but the portion sizes are good. BURROS QUESO (6/10) - This is a basic chili con queso... it's topped with ground beef, guacamole, and pico but not much. I don't think I'd order this again because it isn't worth it for the price... I'd rather just order a small chili con queso. SHREDDED CHICKEN QUESADILLA (6/10) - It's a pretty standard chicken quesadilla served with shredded lettuce, pico, sour cream, and guacamole. You do get plenty of shredded chicken inside! This is great to split as an appetizer or get as an entree. I'd order this again. JAVIER'S PLATE (6/10) - It's a good portion size but nothing special. The grilled skirt steak had a nice flavor but is kinda hard to cut up and eat. You get rice, beans, and a small tortilla cup with lettuce, pico, and guacamole. I probably wouldn't order this again because I'd rather try other things. CARNE ASADA (6/10) - Again, it's a good portion size but nothing special. The grilled chicken breast is the same price as the diced skirt steak which doesn't quite make sense to me but you get a decent amount of sautéed onion, tomatoes, serano peppers, mushrooms, and zucchini. Again, you get rice, beans, and a small tortilla cup with lettuce, pico, and guacamole. I'd order this again if I want to get in some veggies with my meal. This was my first visit to Burros Tex Mex Bar and Grill and I probably won't rush to come back because there are other Tex Mex restaurants nearby that I prefer. It wasn't bad by any means, it just doesn't stand out (especially for the price). But, in a pinch, I'd stop by again if I was nearby and in the mood for Tex Mex.

Short of the story EVERYONE liked it!!!! This is a mind blowing shocker coming from our family. We got the large queso, my only minor complaint is that it's a little thin and it's like $14 but it was really good, we totally polished it off. Hubby got the combo fajitas, didn't have peppers but tons of caramelized yummy onions that we loved. Girls got the Mac n cheese which was a hit and the other got their chicken fingers. We also got the friend ice cream, which was just ice cream covered in Frosted Flakes but it was awesome, had honey, chocolate all the good stuff. Needless to say we found our new go to spot for Mexican!! It was clean, no wait, service was great, and everyone enjoyed their food. A win all the way around.

The staff was friendly, the restaurant was busy, but the food was still fast and tasty. We will venture back on our next visit

And it doesn't stop there: every other dish I've tried has been just as amazing, from the sides to the mains. You can really taste the quality and authenticity in every bite. Amazing food, incredible service, and a place that truly lives up to its name. Highly recommend.

For a Saturday afternoon it was pretty quiet. We were the only ones there so it was pretty silent. It seemed like they had reopened or something, seemed like most of the attention was in the back and not out front but they our server came by and dropped of some chips and salsa. I looked at the menu and it was very Texmex, so much so that I didn't feel any guilt whatsoever in ordering hard shell tacos. Since we already got the chips we decided to get their queso as well. The food basically all arrived at the same time and the queso was served in a small soup cup-TONs of their queso and since it was family, double dipping the queso into the salsa was not judged; pretty decent. My tacos were good-the lettuce, tomatoes and cheese were just kind of tossed on top and not in but I guess that's what I get for ordering hard shell tacos. I should have gone full Taco Bell and just gotten the beef, the shredded chicken was just ok.

I eat gluten free and it was awesome to see so many clearly marked gf options. Our waitress gave us a sample of the YOLO margarita when we sat down (coconut margarita), very tasty! We got one to share along with the margarita flight and habanero margarita. Smooth tequila! Shared the harvest #4 gluten free as an appetizer. Impressed by the flavorful queso, salsa, and guacamole. I got the verde chicken enchiladas, which were clearly fresh and delicious. Husband got the 512 crispy pork enchiladas and loved them. We were too full to indulge in dessert but know we'll be back again! I could tell this food was high quality and clearly gluten free as sometimes when I eat out I still get stomach pains but here I felt great, even with being stuffed to the max. Highly recommend!

Thinking this was actually going to be a ribeye steak, that's what I ordered. The breading was good, not overly heavy, the gravy was tasty, although very peppery... so far so good right? If this was a ribeye, this was the thinnest, most gristley ribeye in the history of the world. I had to spit out almost half of it because it was full of tough, fatty chunks of gristle!! Very disappointed in this and would never order it again from here! The mashed potatoes were mashed potatoes, but still on par. The steamed vegetables were boring, and plain, but still edible. On the other hand, my dining partner's pork chop was impressive and he ate every bite. He said he would be back again for the pork chop! He liked the demi-glaze, as well as the well seasoned mushrooms on top. The people we encountered were very nice and friendly. We were hoping to find a new restaurant close to home, but it didn't hit the mark with the paper, thin, gristly CFS. Very disappointed.

I had never heard anything about this place before , however, the outside of the restaurant doesn't look like anything special but the moment you walk inside, it looks like someplace where people would go when they're on vacation. It's bright and cheerful and lots of photographs and decor. Someone took some heavy thought and a lot of time to decorating this place. I absolutely love it. It's clearly a nice festive place to be. They have a very inviting bar, which looks very friendly and fun. They have many tables and some booths. They also have outside seating. They sell their own Chuy shirts, and if you wear your Chuy shirt into the restaurant, you get a discount on another shirt! When we went to lunch at 1:30 on Wednesday, it was not busy. They did have some business, however. We were greeted promptly and kindly and seated in a booth. It wasn't too long before chips came with two types of salsa; one looked like pico de gallo and the other one looked like a jalapeño cream dip. I would've loved to have tasted that, but it goes against my dietary restrictions, but I can tell you that pico de gallo was great! And the chips were nice and crispy. We were provided with place settings that each were in their own individual envelope sealed with a little sticker and labeled "sanitized"; I liked that. I ordered shredded chicken crispy tacos with rice and beans and my husband ordered shrimp tacos and a margarita. My tacos were great. I really loved the tortilla. They obviously take a corn tortilla, shaped it themselves and cook it before they fill it and the extra care could definitely be tasted. The rice and beans were good, But I really liked the tacos best. My husband said his shrimp tacos were good too. The prices were quite reasonable. My taco plate was $12. I'm really glad I visited this restaurant today and I will definitely be back to try out more of the menu! I highly recommend you visit it.
