I don't know what it is about Harford County but it's the last time I'll try to get a proper NY strip here. I should have known when it was only $52 on the menu. Steak & Main advertises "best steaks around" and serves the same 1/2" thin cut slice that looks like it came from Ponderosa but they charge $65 which is a ripoff. I like my steak rare and with a steak this thin, it's impossible but at least they were close. Again, stuff all over the top of the meat, a bit too much. Stroganoff - solid!! Dessert- Bananas Foster / solid!! My only gripe is the steak. Since the original server had left for the day, I explained the situation to another server, who then brought over the manager. After I explained what had happened, the manager seemed skeptical at first, as if I was trying to get something for free. Eventually, she agreed to remove the $5 charge. To make matters worse, when I asked for a to-go box and a side of blue cheese because my original blue cheese had been thrown away, I was told it would cost an additional $0.75. At that point, I was frustrated that I was being charged for a replacement of something that had been discarded by the staff. I paid it, but the entire experience left a bad impression. The overall interaction felt like the restaurant was constantly looking for ways to add extra charges and nickel-and-dime customers. Customer service should focus on making things right when mistakes happen, not creating additional frustrations. Unfortunately, between the service issues and food quality, I won't be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to others.
