The knowledge and expertise of the technicians has always impressed me. They work with care and precision and the steps they take are always thorough. Most recently I bought a 28-year old vehicle down South that is structurally in fine condition but had suffered from decades of minimal maintenance. Over this past year an engine issue has been fully resolved and safety-dependent suspension items were diagnosed, discussed fully with me in advance, and professionally repaired. I believe that "you get what you pay for" - there are shops with lower labor rates and fewer equipment to aid the techs. The quality of the work is worth every dollar. However, a few things: firstly, it had been sitting around for 8 years without usage. Secondly, in that time the vehicle had aged to 25 years (doesn't seem that long to me!) and the parts just plain rusted out. When I saw the vehicle the gas tank looked in sorry shape and was badly rusted--clearly needing preplacement. The vehicle transporter said the same thing. That it wasn't worth any further investment in parts or reconditioning. It was simply too old and the frame didn't look good. I didn't appreciate this analysis because it never occurred to me that this was the situation; hats off again to Dave's mechanic--Ricki--who accurately gave me the bad news that I couldn't appreciate.
