Poe H and I went for a morning walk to find a good coffee place. Within 5 minutes we came upon Gustos Coffee Co. which we thought was extremely busy for a Saturday morning. The crowd knows it's coffee! Gustos is hip and trendy, a mixture of old industrial and modern design. The ambiance makes you want to relax at communal tables and chat. The line to order was pretty long but we waited. It also took a long time to make our coffee. This is not a quick stop during your break. My latte with soy milk was really good, strong and flavorful. It was worth the wait and we will be back!
Feb 17, 2025 review For coffee lovers - this is a gem. Very spacious space with plenty of seating options available inside and outside. They even have a barista training room all the way at the back. Very unique Bathroom interior - I must say. Adding some photos. Musical theme and vintage bicycle look. Coffee art- next level. I asked for something unique and was showing previous yelp photos. Barista said he could do better and showed us his Instagram page. And we got a Pegasus. Lot of options to buy the beans as well. Most of 8oz packets were under $15 price. Overall decent price and great coffee.
Pretty cool and hip local coffee joint. I visited as a tourist looking to kill some time before check-in on a cruise and I found it to be pretty awesome. Coffee was very good. I think the food options were good, not great. We bought a french toast breakfast sandwich and it was good but I'd probably order simpler next time. Fantastic environment, loved just chillin' on the patio.
A santruce local told us we needed to come to gustos. So we made our way here this am. It was packed!!!! We waited in a long line but once we ordered our drinks came fast. Sat outside in the warm breeze and drank our delicious drinks. My boyfriend is planning to order some coffee beans to be delivered to home bc he liked it so much!

Great coffee shop recommended by a local in San Juan. There's a good amount of selection on food, coffee, merchandise, and coffee beans. Got some beans for some family back home, and got a quick bite to eat. Ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with a cold brew which was delicious. Kind of wish the coffee sizes were bigger, the largest is 12 oz which is the equivalent of a small size from SB back home. Theres a nice cool breeze and a giant fan inside to keep you cool from the Puerto Rican heat, and service is good. Not sure if there is any free wifi, but seems like a nice area to get some work done or have some brunch.
Checked off all the boxes! awh at a beautiful coffee shop, the decor and design is well thought out with vintage bikes and rusty trumpets poking out the wall. The service is incredible, everyone is super attentive and kind! The coffee is exceptional, the beans are so smooth and they have everything from iced coffee, cold brew, lattes, espressos, cortados! The prices are some of the best I have experienced in Puerto Rico. Espressos are $2.50 and iced coffees are $3.50. They have a variety of sweets as well. The plain croissant toasted was perfect. I also got an almond pound cake which was semi sweet and paired well with my coffee. They have egg sandwiches and other savory options as well. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Clean bathroom! Not many plugs nor wifi to help with working from here so we just used our hot spot. Pigeons will come in because the doors are open but all is well!

Ive been visiting this place for a few weeks and short of the vibes on the outdoors I haven't figured out the draw. I've gotten coffee a few times which is decent but overpriced. Well, weirdly priced I should say. My espresso was like $2 but an americano was like $4.50? I understand a slight upcharge but that seems extreme for what was essentially water and ice. I've gotten some baked goods too which have been a bit mixed. This one croissant thing with guava paste was delicious but a coconut cookie was dry and plain. I ordered breakfast which was fairly basic. The potatoes were completely flavorless, the eggs were utilitarian, toast was good. Basically $10 for a breakfast I could have easily made better at home. Place itself is nice and there's plenty of seating. I'll probably be back due to convenience.

Came by to pick-up a stash to bring home again and enjoyed a frozen coffee off the menu. Super smooth and not overly sweet for a warm, humid day. It looked like they had some brunch items as well. Friendly service in a great ambience with tons of inside and outside seating.

First off, Yelp and the Gustos' website say that it is closed on Saturdays, but Google Maps said it was open. We called and thankfully it was open. Not sure if this was because they were closed yesterday for Good Friday, but consider calling if going on a Saturday! The place was busy, but they were fully staffed and service was fast and our drinks/food came out quickly. A live band played outside, but it was acoustic and the volume was very reasonable. I wanted to buy locally roasted coffee beans for home and this turned out to be the best place to buy them. I bought two 8oz bags, $14 and $15 respectively. Compare that to 787 Coffee that wanted $30 for a similar sized bag (even more for their alcohol infused beans!). Gustos also sold 2lb bags of beans if you really need to make a lot of coffee. Sadly, the roasting date was not stamped on any of the bags. The cold brew coffee was good. The French toast was mediocre -- the bread was sliced too thin, with very little batter on the exterior, and zero saturation inside the bread. The fresh blueberries and grated coconut were nice, but the syrup tasted cheap. My wife had the Gustos and it was delicious. We saw others with avocado toast and it looked tasty too. We bought little bags of dried plantains on a whim at the counter -- turns out they were $3 each. Otherwise, prices were very reasonable. read more

Gustos is a local favorite for coffee lovers! Dog-friendly spot with lots of seating space. Always friendly, welcoming staff with great service. Coffee quality is amazing. I always go for the oatmilk cortadito delicious. read more

Very good coffee. I got the chai latte with 2 shots of espresso and with oat milk and it was very good. Also I liked that they didn't charge extra for special milks. The chocolate croissant was so good and tasty and soft. I would come again For sure. Great service too! read more

The first time I stopped by, I went straight inside to buy some coffee beans. There's about 5 varieties, priced around $12 for 8oz whole beans. The second time I came for breakfast. Really good coffee for a very good price! I ordered a 8 oz latte for around $3. The cup came with a very cute latte art. The sugar is in this giant mason jar in the middle of the table. I also ordered a slice of carrot cake for $2.75. It was very good but being that it was pre-sliced, it's a bit dry on the outside. The only reason this place is not a 5-stars is because I also ordered a plaint croissant, toasted. Man was I disappointed. The croissant came extremely flat (see picture)! They had used the panini press to toast a flaky croissant. It lost its crispy and flaky aspect. Very disappointed and did not end up finishing it. read more
I arrived to my AirBnB and my host suggested this coffee spot. It's a very cute apothecary cafe filled with cute wooden decor and tables. I ordered a cafe con leche (coffee with milk) and it was very good! Will definitely come back for a coffee pick me up dose during work. read more

Sourced from farms in Yauco, the same head Roaster in charge from day one assuring consistency, it is inside the spacious store at 954 Ponce De Leon Avenue that guests will find friendly Baristas and assortment of merchandise, everything from shirts to socks lined up next to Espresso machines and Pastries. Puerto Rico born and bred, a commitment to the Island proudly promoted in Gustos' literature, it was on a particularly humid morning that Cold Brew was selected, the brew's maturity yielding complex notes of Cocoa and medium acidity well-suited to cleansing the palate between bites of a toothsome Corn Muffin. Also with an on-site Kitchen, a variety of Tostadas and Eggs made-to-order, it was on the outdoor patio that two addition Baked Goods were tasted, the Chocolate Chip Cookie a bit over-baked and thus hard while a square of Apple Cinnamon Cake was aromatic and lightly sweet beneath buttery Streusel. read more
This place is cute, the staff was super friendly and it was clean, charming and comfortable. The drinks were REALLY good and the avocado toast was good as well. I liked the way they did the bread, I believe it was pressed in the panini press which made the bread not soggy at all. Iced Chai latte was one of the best one I've ever had. read more
I ordered their salmon bagel and iced latte. Both were delicious! You order at the front and they call or bring out the order to you. The inside is hipster with one large table to sit at. There are also several small tables outside as well. read more

Gustos is a super hip, super local, super tasty cafe and roastery located right off the main drag in Miramar (they have at least one other location too). It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the larger hotels near the convention center, and a short bus ride from the cruise port and Old San Juan. The staff is super friendly, and will go over all the coffee offerings with you. The vast majority of their beans are grown, processed, and roasted right here in Puerto Rico, so you can feel good knowing that your purchase supports local farmers and the overall economy of the island. As for the taste of the coffee, it's amazing (exactly as you would expect) with complex but clean flavors that come from uber freshly roasted and ground beans. I did not eat any food, but they have a large breakfast menu and the pastries looked quite tantalizing. The setting is great too: I really enjoyed sitting at the big, open windows watching the world go by outside while sipping my pour-over. I made sure to pick up some beans to take home, and I'll update this review once I can try them. They have an extensive "gift shop," with lots of beans, clothing, mugs and other coffee drinking essentials, and some non-coffee items like soaps and chocolate, all of which make great (local) souvenirs. All in all, this is a MUST VISIT roastery for any coffee lover! read more
