I was introduced to Los Cidrines back in 2016 when visiting relatives in Rio Piedras. It's very popular in Puerto Rico. The name was changed to Sobao for its famous bread. Maybe you've seen the Cidrines brand of Pan Sobao at grocery stores on the mainland. I've seen it before at Walmart & Winn-Dixie. This location is more casual and laid-back than the one that I remember. There's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. We were fortunate enough to hit it during a good time when it wasn't as busy. We decided to split a mallorca sandwich with ham & cheese. It was delicious! It's awesome that the mallorcas here have their own part of the menu. Most of the menu is dedicated to sandwiches. All made with the Boar's Head brand of deli meats. We were the most impressed with the espresso. It's the best Puerto Rican Café con Leche I've had in a very long time. It must be a local blend. I'd go back again for the same items as well as for the pastries. Unfortunately, we didn't get to stay in the area long enough to try more from the menu. It's a great affordable option for a meal or snack when staying at a hotel on Condado Beach.
If you love bread and are a sandwich person, this needs to be on your list when you visit San Juan! This was our introduction to Mallorca bread and oh boy, best bread I have ever tasted! Get it toasted and made with your choice of filling/meat. They serve some really good beverages and have a great ambiance as well. I'm not a big fan of the local coffee beans but they did serve handcrafted coffee beverages. You cannot go wrong with any of their tropical drink flavors.
Make sure you stop by this cute coffee shop in Condado. Their iced coffees were strong. I absolutely loved their scrambled eggs with ham and the toast was extra crispy. I also fell in love with mallorca which is a sweet bread, so fluffy so good. Still definitely thinking about this spot! Staff was super friendly and this spot does get busy.
I've not seen this kind of value proposition in a coffee chain ever. $2.50 for an americano and $8 for a handmade cubano is tremendous value. And it's good. Stopped by on a whim after dinner and now can't wait to go back and try some of their baked goods as well. Clean and comfortable ambiance inside and out with no annoying loud music to ruin it for everyone. Service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend.
Super easy and chill place to pick up breakfast! We went twice during our stay in San Juan and loved it! Ordered La Mallorca with ham, egg and cheese, quesitos (cheese turnovers), potato ball, baked empanadas, coffee and the orange juice. Everything was delicious andddd we forgot to take pictures. We even went back and ordered some Quesitos to take home to family and everyone loved them! Service was quick, efficient, friendly and easy. Lots of tables inside and outside, and people trickle in and out with frequency.
Had to run in quickly before leaving for a flight back home. Everything I had was very good!
Giving Starbucks but the Latino version And surprisingly, everything was Cafe Con Leche Mallorca bread w/butter Empanada Quecito Ham & Cheese sandwich Glazed Almonds Media Noche (ham, sweet bread, pickles, mustard, roast pork, & Swiss cheese) Gatorade (not pictured) Tea (not pictured) The service was pretty quick, once you placed your order. And if you ordered to stay, they brought it to your table
Great spot for a good cup of coffee. Wish they had sizes that were larger than 12 ounces but other than that, the service and the ambience in this shop is charming. So glad we stopped by!
If the line is out the door.. you can do one of two things 1. leave and find something more convenient or 2. stand in the damn line because if there's a line it's gotta be worth it right?!? it was worth it. I ordered a café mocha, which was absolutely delicious. My friend ordered a latte and she said it's the best. "F--n (explicative)" she's ever had (that's a pretty tall order for me. I don't believe it.) Nonetheless I give them five stars. Hubby had a glazed donut and a cafe Americana The barista's were very friendly .... And tolerated my horrible Mexi-Spanglish

Cool little counter services bakery style cafe. Good coffee, good bakery items and sandwiches. We visited on Saturday morning and even though it was busy, we were able to find a table fast and enjoyed our breakfast. Recommended 100% if you're looking for a quick snack before enjoying your vacation.
There was a bit of a wait and it was a bit full, but it was really good. The bread was SO fresh and delicious. The sweet and salty combo was everything to me! Their fresh orange juice was AMAZING. There are tables inside, this day was packed but could see there was a quick rotation of people coming in and out. Took it to go and ate it with a view. Hit the spot for the day!
When we first arrived in San Juan, I was looking for a quick snack before dinner. My son recommended this spot, but I initially said no. Three days later, while we were on our way to Old San Juan, he stopped by and grabbed a sandwich -- and let me have a bite. It was incredible! The bread was soft, sweet, and absolutely delicious. On our last day, I made sure we went back for breakfast before heading to the airport. My husband and I both ordered the ham and cheese breakfast sandwich. I couldn't remember the name of the bread, but when I told the lady I wanted the "sweet bread," she immediately knew what I meant. You know a place is good when it's packed with locals. This spot is a must-try if you're visiting San Juan!

Nice coffee shop. I had a large cappuccino and a cortadito that tasted just like it should. The scrambled eggs and veggies lacked veggies and were a little overcooked. Locals kinda place that welcomes tourists just like locals. Very friendly and helpful staff! Average prices. Lots to choose from. Very clean. read more

This is a solid quick breakfast spot. We got iced coffees and sandwiches, and sat on the cute patio while we ate. I had a cheesesteak and my partner had a Cuban. We both enjoyed them! We agreed we wouldn't go out of our way to come here, but it was close to our hotel and close to a beach entry so it was perfect! read more

If you love bread and are a sandwich person, this needs to be on your list when you visit San Juan! This was our introduction to Mallorca bread and oh boy, best bread I have ever tasted! If I could give them 20 stars, I would. I had to order UBER EATS for my guests, and they wanted PR breakfast sandwiches, so I got Sobao as my delivery. When I tell you that these folks went insane for the Mallorca sandwiches, it's an understatement. They said those were the best sandwiches they've had. Granted, they were in love with the island already, so I think the sandwiches were the cherry on top. read more
Nice trendy cafe! Sandwiches and pastries were tasty and plentiful. The signs were confusing. They had 2 signs and 2 cashiers. I was under the impression one side was to order coffee and pastries and the other side was to order sandwiches. After the hostess explained either one works and placing customers to form an organized line. We were ready to order. The signs are long and cover vision of the menu. I would change that. But overall the menu had variety and food was tasty with prices that were better than your chain cafe. One to not miss when you are in San Juan Puerto Rico read more
Item ordered: cortadito Value: exceptional Service: good and quick! The Review: Considering how touristy the area is, I was pleasantly surprised that Sobao has incredible coffee AND prices. My cortadito was $1.50 (I KNOW, RIGHT?!). It was smooth as silk and just an overall delicious brew. Highly recommend Sobao for a coffee stop. read more
They have multiple locations and I like this one in Isla Verde. My weekly Cafe con Leche spot for an affordable, tasty 8oz cafecito. Both indoor and outdoor seating available and multiple self-order stations. Will have to come back to try their meals, sandwiches, etc but cafe is good! read more

I was in need of sandwiches and salads for catering on a private plane. When I asked our front desk clerk at the AC HOTEL he recommended Sobao for sandwiches and salads. Couldn't have asked for a more convenient location. I placed my order with Fabiola the evening before and she assured me everything would be taken care of. I arrived In the morning and sure enough it was ready! Packaged very well, all was labeled, nothing was missing. I overheard the passengers commenting on how tasty the Cubano was. The food looked and tasted great! Thank you! On a side note their coffee and Mallorca's are yummy! read more

My coworker recommended the quesitos here and they did not disappoint! She even asked me to bring some home for her that I carried all the way on a flight back with me. They were flaky, cheesy and delicious! I also had a spinach and cheese pastry which I think had honey or some sweet glaze on it that made it even better. The cafe got pretty busy in the morning but service was quick! Definitely stop by for a treat! read more
Second visit. Coffee is OK (rather go to Starbucks, but it's much farther from my hotel). Had to return a coffee but the gladly changed it. Pastries OK. Service is slow; 6 folks behind the counter and only one taking Orders. Pricing is good though. Music too loud outside for morning. read more

So good, we ate here twice! On our first visit, my husband and I split the ham/cheese/egg Mallorca, an order of the seasonal pumpkin waffles, and an almond milk latte. All of these items came out hot and fresh, and were the perfect start to our day. The second time we ordered via Uber Eats and picked up our order within 10 minutes! There's a counter off to the side clearly labeled for pickup orders - very convenient! We were in the mood for a light dinner of a Cuban sandwich and a turkey sandwich. Both were very tasty even for takeout! We ate our leftovers on the plane the next morning and people were envious. This restaurant is counter service and decorated in a modern way with lots of natural light. Would recommend! read more

I had brunch here the morning I departed back to the U.S. during my birthday trip. The customer service was great - patient and answered all my questions in details I ordered the Sobao French Toast, Eggs with onions, an empiñada & Hazelnut flavored iced latte. It was like $25 or so and the food wasn't hot & the flavors were just okay. Nothing spectacular or good. The French Toast had me excited but just blah. The latte was the nicest thing. read more

I've been fortunate to be able to eat here many times. I've had everything on the menu several times And every dish is done just right. The people are very nice and the service is excellent. The bakery puts on a great breakfast with excellent coffee and pastries. The restaurant, in the back, has the feeling of a cool speak easy. I hope you give it a try if you are in San Juan (which you should visit)! read more

1st time here so can't say to much but asked regulars next to me if this is what a $12 sandwich looks like and they said they would complain too. Waitress didn't think there was anything wrong so letting people know. That's why it sucks to tip ahead of time too Place is otherwise cute and popular. read more

Great space for fresh coffee, pastries and or sandwiches. Outdoor seating and indoor seating as well. Located on a corner spot. They take forever and got on ro my orders wrong but I still recommend. read more
