I like Guthrie's. They're a small regional chain that started in Alabama, so that probably contributes to my affection for them. They're similar to Zaxby's but with a smaller menu -- chicken fingers only, pretty much. They do have chicken tender sandwiches and I think this location had salads, but -- you get the picture. Crinkle cut fries and slaw for sides, and a signature dipping sauce. My guess is a mayo/ketchup kind of deal with some peppery, garlicky flavors. It's good! This Guthrie's presented itself as an option on our way through town and we decided to indulge -- there isn't one where we live and I miss it from living in Tuscaloosa. Currently, this location offers drive through only. We sort of wanted to dine inside just to get out of the car, but it was okay. Prices are reasonable, I think, at around 10 per person. The drive through was a little slow, but we soon learned why -- our food was very fresh! So fresh husband burned the roof of his mouth on a tender, lol. Portions are large, fries were nicely salted, crispy tenders, and really delicious sweet tea. The extra ranch we asked for was also clearly made in house. Yay! The girls working the window were friendly and sweet. Overall, for what it is, Guthrie's is a solid chain and this is a solid representative of said chain. The chicken here is always amazing, you can tell that it is hand breaded and it is incredibly crunchy and juicy. The fries as well are always crisp and cooked well. The drive thru line can get crowded but they keep it moving and are very efficient. If you are in the area and want chicken or are in a hurry this is the best option. read more

Food was good, overpriced, stopped in from driving into Nashville we love trying new places. Sauces you got pay for, refills cost money. Wouldn't come back. Good taste like Zaxby chicken good but not that good. Friendly staff. #1 complaint need to have free refills, lower price or at least include drink and fries into the meal. One of my favorite chicken spots and the only one near my house is in Moulton. Me and the girlfriend came here on a Saturday which it was her first time too. She really liked how the chairs rolled to make it better to get in and out of. We both ordered the snack with toast. I forgot how good the place is, the toast was like melt in your mouth, it did not survive long around me. The chicken texture is probably some of the best I have had in a while for a chicken place by itself. The fries were slightly overcooked but dipping them in the sauce along the chicken made them soggy a bit which gave them a good texture. I will be back. Passing through from Birmingham on the way to visit a someone in the hospital. Placed a drive order. When I got it I had about 6 tiny fingers and a abundance of fries the food was not hot. Had to go in for some hot sauce when I got in I noticed that they was cooking fresh food I asked could I get some since what I had was not hot.. THE COOK TRIED TO BE SMART!! When I got it I had approximately 7 fries and 3 small fingers. I then told the lady at the register I had more food than this when it wasn't hot can I please get some more...The cook ( VERY rude) then started beating on the counter with the tongs which caused the workers to laugh at me.... Had to drop a star because a year later I gave them another chance on the Grilled Chicken Pita and yet again they served me a wrap. I'm just rather confused...if you have both a Chicken wrap and chicken pita on the menu, then I order the chicken pita and it comes wrapped in a tortilla then what the heck is a chicken wrap? Take the pita off the menu if you don't serve it. I'm being totally picky Y'ALL and I'm simply having a temper tantrum. It's probably still one of the better fast food restaurants in Moulton but they just can't fool me with a wrap. read more

This is about as good of a Guthrie's as you will find. Samuel P. posted a pic of a box from a different location a couple weeks ago and I've been wanting some Gutheries ever since. My understanding is the franchise owner here owns multiple locations and standards are high. There was a line wrapped around the building today around 130. I placed my order and was served promptly given the number of cars in front of me. For 7 bucks and change I got a box with 5 fresh lightly battered golden crispy delicious chicken fingers, perfectly crisp and hot fries, Texas toast and a famous Guthries sauce. Everything was freshly prepared and hot. There are similarities between the Guthries box and the Zaxbys box. In my opinion finger plate to finger plate Guthries wins every time. Something about the batter on the chicken is more appealing to me. The sauces are similar as well but the ratios or something is different as I enjoy Guthries sauce and do not care for the Zax sauce and usually get blue cheese instead. I think it boils down to freshness with both. Prepackaged Zax sauce can't compare to house made Guthries sauce and hand battered fingers at Guthries are always better than bag o frozen from Zaxbys. This location offers a couple basic salads a grilled chicken option and wings vs the old school box or sandwich options you used to see at Guthries. I hope their delayed menu expansion isn't too late to revive the brand. Seems like there are only a few of these left. Based on the traffic this one had today it seems likely it's not going anywhere! read more

Not sure why I still come here. I stayed away for over a month after hearing the guy I presumed was the manager explain to another employee they don't hire black people at this location. Tonight, they are speculating on someone's sexuality. The presumed manager stated "he looks like he takes dick up the a$$." He later dropped the F-bomb. Most conversations the staff have while I've been here are entirely inappropriate for a public venue. These aren't private conversions as they can be heard word for word in the dining area. The food is good, but I expect a better family friendly environment. read more

This place has the best chicken you can find anywhere. The sauce is great. The coleslaw, wonderful. My kids love Guthrie chicken as well. The only complaint I have is that its expensive for fast food. Its really a mixture between fast-food and a sit down restaurant. If your looking for the best chicken tenders ever then choose Guthrie. read more

The chicken tenders are lightly fried and seasoned to perfection, and great quality. I won't eat chicken tenders just anywhere, but this place definitely serves them right. The signature sauce is excellent, but the French fries are just average. I also love the ice- crushed and easy to eat. read more
