Alicia heard and witnessed Breanna's rudeness and I have to admit, a staff member barging into a room (without knocking) and aggressively confronting a client (rather than going to his/her supervisor) took my breath away when I had simply asked her name. Amazing that Daniel allows this type of behavior from an employee who threatened to quit repeatedly. IF this was a "vendetta" review Daniel, I would post about Scout. Leave it.

I initially submitted an online inquiry and was contacted promptly after submitting. The front desk/reception staff were kind, professional and very helpful. They listened to my needs and concerns and promptly scheduled appointments for my pups with Dr. Romero. After several appointments and interactions with the team and Dr. Romero, I cannot say enough great things! Dr. Romero truly loves what she does and it shows! She is extremely knowledgeable, professional, caring, compassionate and is a great communicator. Pricing is very reasonable, the facility is warm and inviting and CLEAN!!! Also, no idea what others are referring to about the admin staff and ladies that answer the phones but I've called over 20 with various people answering the phone and it's always a positive experience. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could!!

I had an absolutely awful experience with our last visit that I refuse to return to the clinic or…read morerecommend anyone else here. My dog has been going here steadily for over a year for her vaccines but the unprofessional handling of our last visit was unacceptable. Unfortunely my dog came down with an infection, after a few rounds of antibiotics we had progressed to an injection of antibiotics. The possibility of being sedated was discussed, depending how she handled. I gave the approval and a nurse came out to have forms signed. She did disclose that my dog was in a bad state, she was having a bad reaction and this confused me a bit. I tried to confirm the treatment, as my dog just went back, and this was for this procedure I had discussed with the Vet, but she confirmed the last she had just seen was "oxygen being put on her" and i needed to sign these forms for resuscitation in event of an emergency. So I'm worried now, that my dog possibly had a bad reaction to the sedation. The clinic had stopped, some appointments were being delayed and front staff confirmed to the waiting room that an emergency in the back needed all hands on deck. I had a few of the other patients in the room, wish me prayers that my dog would be okay. Finally the other patients were being seen, so I thought we were in the clear. The nurse came out again to speak with me. She placed her hand on my thigh and said "I'm so sorry" Instantly I broke down and started crying, thinking my dog had passed. The staff explained she mixed up the patients, my dog was fine, she had been sedated, she could be picked up in a few hours once she woke up. I left the clinic extremely upset, I've never been so upset that I was unable to speak, the stress I went thru waiting for an update after she described a scene of my dog on an operating table not looking good & having an oxygen mask put on her, to the next words be "I'm sorry". I couldn't speak I was so overwhelmed with emotions. When I return to pick her up later in the afternoon, the vet informs me in our discharge overview, that she was NEVER sedated. They got busy with an emergency in the morning and my dog was just waiting in the back...for hours. This is where I got even more upset with the entire experience. If I made a mistake as awful as this staff member, of mixing up patient updates, I would be triple checking every piece of information I provided going forward. She did not, she not only gave me information that my dog was experiencing a life threatening emergency but set expectations that a procedure had already been preformed on my dog, when it in fact had not. Thirdly, were the owners of the animal in the emergency actually notified, if they thought I was the owner? Were they consulted or updated throughout the situation? Communication is so important in these situations and I wouldn't trust that they wouldn't make those mistakes again.

The concern: the front desk experience is inconsistent. When you get someone helpful, the process is smooth. When you don't, it becomes frustrating enough to reconsider coming back. Update - April 28, 2026 My puppy has been limping and holding her paw up while walking, so I called the day prior and spoke with Matthew, who was professional and helpful. He advised me to call at 7:30 a.m. to arrange a drop-off for evaluation. I followed those instructions exactly. I arrived at 7:30 a.m., called, left a message, waited for them to open, and called again. After waiting, I went inside to follow up and was told that if I came in before receiving a callback, I would be charged an additional fee and needed to go back outside and call again. I complied and called again, but after additional waiting, I called once more because I needed to leave for work. At that point, Bernice told me she had until 9:00 a.m. to call me back, in a dismissive and hostile tone. For context, I have been a long-term client with five pets currently under care, along with multiple pets prior to them. I ultimately had to leave. Shortly after getting into Albuquerque, I received a callback asking if I could return by 9:30. That was not feasible given the earlier delays and lack of accommodation. I want to acknowledge and thank Dr. Abernathy for the consistent care he has provided over the years, and Matthew for his professionalism. However, ongoing issues with front desk staff--specifically Bernice and Lexi--have made the overall experience difficult enough that I will be seeking care elsewhere. It is unfortunate to leave a provider I trust due to customer service concerns, but the inconsistency at the front desk has reached a point where it outweighs the quality of care.
