The furnishings and décor are top of the line. They have everything you can need. There is so much to do, too in close proximity. We got there at 10am on a Friday and there were a few spots left. The hike is only about a half mile to the lake, but is up a decent hill. There are no real restrooms when you get to the lake (just an enclosed building with a hole in the ground) and a small snack shack that serves sandwiches, lemonade, ice cream, etc. the beach area for the lake is very small / narrow, but it is a great area for kids. They have paddle board, kayak, and small boat rentals to enjoy as well.

The couple goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is welcome, warm, and comfortable. The morning breakfast had a nice selection with some homemade baked pudding bread. I slept better in this bed-and-breakfast than most hotels. I would definitely go back and recommending to my family and friends.

We rotate ski resorts, and always rent a large house. We like to cook and hang out after a long ski day. This year, we rented this house. I'll start with the positives: It is conveniently located- less than a 5 minute drive to the ski resort (you could walk but there's a pretty good hill to get there and it would be tough in the snow). The house is humongous- you can hang out together or find space to do your own thing. It has a great theater room, ping pong and games downstairs. The indoor pool is great, hot was clean (though small for this size house), the outdoor patio with fireplace is wonderful. The sauna and steam shower are unexpected bonuses! All of these things are great, but the main things you need in a house this big are the things that need attention. The bedrooms are small- the beds aren't bad- mattresses are comfortable though the blankets need replaced. There are quilts and then 'couch throws'. The biggest complaints about the bedrooms were the lack of any type of dresser or place to put clothes- we all just lived out of suitcases bc you couldn't unpack them. Also, just be aware that the bedrooms all have shared bathrooms (in case this is an issue for your group). Finally, the bedrooms in the basement were extremely hot and we could find no temperature control for the 3 rooms so we had to open windows. Our biggest complaint is the kitchen. It is really bad. I've attached pictures of the pots and pans- they needed to be thrown out quite some time ago. There are only a few pans and bakeware (2 baking pans to be exact) and what's there is practically unusable. The baking dishes were cracked down the centers. There are plenty of steak knives though they desperately need sharpened. The toaster only works on one side and barely at that. The dishwasher- well.... the front door is broken- sharply broken around the handle so you have to be very careful opening it, and the racks are missing inside so you cannot stand the plates or anything on the bottom rack- it is usable for only large bowls or pans. The bar stools have leather seats which are all split and torn. The floor is buckling around the kitchen cabinets. The stove was really nice, and the double oven was great too. However, there were no kitchen hot pads or oven mitts, very few kitchen serving spoons or spatulas, etc. There were 2 coffee pots, which was nice but they are older and do not have auto shutoff functions. The kitchen is the most important part of the home when you have a large group- they generally prefer to cook rather than find dinner reservations for 14 people. This kitchen was really a disappointment. There were other things that just really decreased our impression of this home. The parking and driveway are challenging at best. And while there are 2 lovely washing machines and dryers, the doors open in the wrong direction (an easy fix), and the dryers are stacked and are way too high! We had to get stools to reach the controls (men and women- not just short people). The control box for all of the coax cables (cable tv, internet, etc) are hanging out of the wall (see pictures). Considering the money paid for this home for 1 week, I would expect much much more. In summary, this house is a wonderful property that is in great need of TLC, with the kitchen being the biggest problem- a couple of thousand dollars at Target to replenish the kitchen would make a world of difference.

Fourth of July Weekend Summer 2016…read more "So what are we doing for your birthday?" everyone asked my sister. "Oh you know, go to the lake and watch the fireworks." she replied and every one cheered with excitement as they patted her on the back. "What lake? Where are we going?" someone desperately wanted specifics. "There's a lake nearby we can walk to...." I imagined my fambam, a group of 23 people, ages 2-78, walking to Pope Beach. It was about a 30 to 45 minute walk from the house we were staying. Huh. I doubt that was going to happen. I panicked, thinking about the hoards of cars and people we saw at the beach when we drove by on our way to Eagle Falls Trailhead, "WHOA. Hold up. Wait a minute! HODOR! We need to do a little research to find the best place to celebrate your birthday. It's going to be crazy everywhere since it's the 4th of July!" I knew no one was going to do any research except me, but it's all good. We drove freakin' six hours to South Lake City to see the damn fireworks! I was determined to find a freakin' beach. I searched on Yelp and -BAM- I found Lakeside Beach and Marina. I was frustrated with the WiFi, the reviews and pics took a long time to upload. Freakin' mountains! I told my sis, "I found a place! We should check it out before we use it as a venue for your birthday! We need tickets to get in, and we need to find out when, where, or how to get them. But we really should check it out." So five of us did. The view was great, there were land and water activities for my nieces and nephews, plus a playground structure for my toddler. PERFECT! After a little planning and organizing and teamwork and a quick trip to KMART, my sister's birthday wish came true. Pat on the back for me, high fives for everybody! TIPS to enjoy your 4th of July celebration: 1. Be there early! 8:00AM or earlier. When we got there at 7:50, we saw a ton of cars in the parking lot and some people were done setting up. Others just left their stuff and came back a few hours later. 2. You can rent chairs and umbrellas for $20 each. We could only rent 3 umbrellas, they ran out. Good thing Kmart is open on July 4th, my siblings were able to buy more tents and chairs. 3. They don't sell tickets in advance. We didn't see any one selling tickets when we got there the next day, we thought they were letting us in for free. Then my niece had to get something from her car and we learned that you need a ticket to get in and out. 4. There's a restaurant on the property but you can bring food. We noticed the day before there were signs that said food is not allowed but I don't think that applies on Independence Day! We had pancit, bbq, fried chicken, rice, lumpia, and other snacks - more than enough for 23 people, more than enough to munch on for 13 hours waiting for the fireworks. 5. Fireworks started at 9:45PM. It was spectacular, spectacular! Now I know why it's the top 3rd or 4th (?!?) fireworks show in the country!

I was hesitant because I always look up yelp reviews for my rentals but I'm so glad I took a chance on this one and actually made this yelp page for the business so yelpers like me wouldn't cast it out.
