No host present at any time during our stay and no other guests (not counting the man who came and went at odd hours). The cottage could use some upkeep and a good cleaning...multiple lights burnt out, shower glass was extremely dirty, one wash cloth for two guests, soap dispensers all empty. One bedroom TV didn't work, dishwasher was hard to open due the bottom cabinet trim being out of place. On the second day I notified the management company that a bear had been through the property leaving debris scattered throughout. The reply was I'll come by tomorrow and clean it up. The debris was still there when we left two days later. On the second night we noticed a man arrive late and go into a cottage, he left early the next day. He arrived again around 11pm on the third night, blasting an air horn outside our bedroom window in an attempt to scare the bears (Mom and cub) away from his car. Again, I called the management company who stated no staff or guests other than us were present. No concern on their part, "What do you want me to do?". I got a lecture on bears even though I shared that I had owned a home in Tahoma for many years, I am very familiar with bear behavior. And although my car was damaged by the bears, the bears weren't the issue. I received a survey several days after returning home and recounted our experience and disappointment in what should have been a very pleasant stay. At the end of the survey I was prompted to request a call regarding my experience, responding yes. Never heard from anyone.

I used to frequent Meeks bay in my younger days pre-family and children with my friends and I hadn't been there much besides working in the area. This Tahoe beach isn't my first choice when visiting Tahoe. The beach is always nice of course. We are lucky to live so close to such a beautiful lake. The bad: The restrooms need more attention and a bigger trash and recycling containers around the surrounding beach areas. The ones in place yesterday were overflowing and I was pretty bummed seeing how people left their trash and food behind. I filled a trash bag with trash I found on my way out. The parking situation is a mess they charge $12 cash to park closer to the beach. All in all it was a good time.

Parking is $12 cash. The parking lot is very close to the beach however which is great if you have mobility issues or small kids. There is also a picnic area with fantastic views of the lake. I wish I had brought my SUP with me as this is a protected area to do some paddleboarding. You don't get the large motorized boats in this area and it is fairly tranquil. The restrooms are adequate enough and it looks like the adjacent campground has decent sites. Swimming-wise, the water seemed colder here than, lessay, Baldwin Beach. In any case, you're sitting on the beach at one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.

I stayed in a smaller room this time which was the Mountain Hideaway located all the way in the back corner. Since this unit doesn't have a full kitchenette the breakfast and free snacks at the office was included in my stay. But this room did have all you needed from a sink, to a fridge, and a electrified stove which I used to make breakfast one morning. The fridge gets really cold so just watch out your stuff on the top rack may freeze a bit. The room came with a nice tub which I used every night to relax my body. The heater they have in this room works really well and kept me and my doggies warm throughout the day and night. They come and clean your room everyday so this is a major reason why they request for your dogs to be well behaved. I'm coming back here again I hope in the summer. Its located 1 mile from Homewood resort so if you ski or snowboard it's really convenient, especially if your kids are fur babies. Thanks again for another amazing stay, and I'm glad I got to try the breakfast they made it was really good.

Buying a home in Tahoe has been a dream of mine for years after years of summer visits as a kid…read more Just closed on a home there, and Brittany absolutely made my dreams come true. She was recommended to me by a former co-worker about a year ago who had Brittany sell their cabin and help them relocate to a condo. I reached out to her then and we traded a few emails back and forth where I described my Tahoe experience and what I was looking for. I emailed her with a long list of care abouts, and she set me up a profile to automatically email me listings of anything that came up as a match. As I'm an out of towner, this was fine (although kind of superfluous, as I was a relentless Zillow/Redfin checker). One or two properties piqued my interest over the past year, and we traded a few emails with her about them, but nothing quite lit the fire enough to get me up there to take a solid look at. Come the following summer after I first contacted her, I was up in the area renting a Vrbo on vacation and I emailed her to ask about a just seeing a few properties. She emailed me that she had JUST had a baby the previous week, but she would find another agent friend of hers to help show me anything I was interested in. We targeted a few places and met her stand-in at one and then we caravanned over to another, where pretty soon I fell in love. I thought it over, and after a few days, decided to make an offer. Despite her newly minted 2nd time mommy status, Brittany said she was already back on the job and would help us make this offer happen. She is an absolute BULLDOG in the BEST possible way and made not being local almost no issue whatsoever. She was ON everything!! Buying a house can be stressful, but Brittany is so well connected, she managed to navigate all my concerns having it inspected by a fantastic inspector (Phil of Alpine Home Inspection) who caught ALOT of issues the sellers inspector had missed. With all that said, she still had the offer to the sellers a quicker close to make my offer the one for them to choose. Not surprisingly that made the already stressful event a bit more, but Brittany was ALWAYS there working EVERY angle we needed. The best part is even after the transaction was completed, she is still our eyes and ears (and arms and legs) on the ground there to help coordinate a few minor things that needed tuning up before it was ready for us to call our own. I can honestly say that I would not own my dream home in Tahoe without her. Seriously if you are thinking of buying a place in the Tahoe area, get Brittany Rupp on YOUR side. You too will end up with a dream come true soon enough.

The office itself was disorganized and unprofessional, and Rich was inattentive to even the most basic renter concerns. During the showing, Rich told me it was "today or nothing" for the tour and proceeded to act rude and hostile while I was alone in the house with him--an incredibly uncomfortable and unsettling experience. He had sent over a lease less than 30 minutes before the showing, filled with incorrect information, and pressured me to sign immediately. When I mentioned my partner's mother, a lawyer, would be reviewing the lease, he suddenly pulled the offer altogether--raising major red flags about what we would have been signing into. To top it off, the lease required a two-month security deposit, which is illegal in California for unfurnished rentals. It felt like a setup for losing thousands down the line. If you're a renter, beware. If you're a property owner, I would think twice--only a negligent landlord would trust someone like Rich to represent their home. Avoid at all costs.

Last month as I was finishing a walk in our neighborhood with my 7 mo old puppy, a vicious dog ran up and attacked my puppy and bit me. It was traumatic and shocking! After some back and forth with the dogs owner, we found out that he was renting from Rich Wilson. We contacted Rich, he showed little concern and was not forthcoming with any insurance information to cover damages, instead pointing us to his tenant and gave us his business address if we decided to pursue him legally. Haven't heard from him since. This guy seems to care very little for the welfare of the community that he claims to serve and more concerned with renting his shanty properties for profit. I would never do business with someone with such little moral compass.

The place was not remotely close to what was advertised. Their mentions of interior design and decor did not match up with the scribbles on walls, chipped and broken furniture, and torn leather chairs that we actually found when we arrived. The worst part was how dirty the property was. They charged a bunch of money for a cleaning fee which would have been fine if the property was actually clean. There were stains on the sheets, bugs, cobwebs, and food on the plates and silverware. Also, a complete lack of communication when Airbnb tried to get in touch with them to resolve the issues. Dave has had to deal with renters locking themselves out, spilling wine on the couch, and losing guest/parking passes, but he's always calm and quick to resolve the situation. He eventually transitioned us to another member of his team, but Brent showed concern for our house as if it was his own. A+ all around. I don't write many Yelp reviews but this is warranted. They were responsive if we had any issues and were an overall pleasure to rent from. I lived in about 4 different houses up there and definitely dealt with some shady slum lord types, so it was very refreshing to rent from a kind, professional group like Hauserman. I visit Tahoe often since i moved back to southern CA and Hauserman are the first rental group i look to when i am booking a place. I also appreciate their emails notifying me of deals. Their staff is kind and helpful and i have had nothing but good experiences with the locations i have rented. I hate to see the negative feedback on some of the other reviews, but as a former Tahoe local, i am not surprised by some of the complaints and exaggerated comments. Tahoe has an economy that relies heavily on tourism and most people are very respectful of the locals, the housing, and the environment, but sadly there are always a few that are not. As renters and visitors to such a beautiful and fragile place, it saddens me to see people letting their dogs poop on people's carpets or complain about rules and cleaning fees (which i know are clearly stated from my experience with Hauserman). These are often the people who do the same outside in the forest and at the lake and lack respect for surrounding people and areas just because they happen to be on vacation. As a child, we rented out our vacation home in Tahoe City and I remember guests damaging things like board games or decor (and luckily not anything more severe like doors or carpet). Guests need to remember that they although they are paying for an experience, they are staying in people's homes and in one of the most beautiful environments on earth and hopefully they can be respectful of that.

Here are the facts of what happened to me when I tried to rent a house from Hauserman: ⁃I found a rental property that was suitable for my group, filled out the booking form, signed the rental agreement, and paid the initial payment. ⁃Weeks later, I got an email that said my rental had been canceled, with no indication as to why. ⁃I had to call them and ask what happened. They stated that the owner had decided they wanted to stay there that weekend, so they simply canceled my stay, despite the signed rental agreement. ⁃They were unhelpful in finding an alternative location, offering only another one of their properties that had less bedrooms and a worse location. ⁃I tried to work with them and asked to be transferred to other properties in their portfolio that were suitable for our group and more equivalent to our original rental, but they refused to allow us to transfer to one of those unless I paid the difference, despite Hauserman being the one that canceled our original rental. Just be aware that Hauserman can and will cancel your rental at any point and then basically tell you to pound sand.
