I would have gave a higher start rating if there's no water shut down issues and poor house keeping. We stayed for 5 nights. On second day, they were replacing a pipe, had to shut down the water. Took them all day to replace it, and then a bust pipe! It resulted in a disaster, there was no water all day and night. Worst nightmare. The water finally came back on the next day... for a few hours, then water shut off again! This time, I was told that their landscaping guy broke the pipe. It was really bad timing because it was one day before thanksgiving. Good that it only took a couple of hours to fix it this time. At least they did something right by offering partial discount (50% off of that one night). Every employee was nice and friendly except the house keeping lady who did our room. We greeted her, but she never greeted us back, always poker face. She only cleaned the drain in the shower one time, leave the hair in the drain for the rest of our stay. She didn't give us clean towels every day, didn't clean the trash bin in the shower. I never had this bad experience before. We booked the thanksgiving meal at the hotel, the meal was good as a buffet style food. Only one hour to dine, as they rotated the tables every hour. It cost us $50 per person plus taxes and tips, alcohol drinks not included. The meal was good, but I will not do it again. Breakfast not included in the room rate. read more

This is NOT a resort - not even close. It's an old hotel renovation project in progress. Our room was adequate, clean and nothing more. The large Guy Harvey artwork and rattan chair in the room don't equate to anything resort like. Breakfast? Not included. If you want breakfast you'll have to wait until the sit down restaurant opens at 7:30, which wasn't an option for us, as we weren't there for more than a night and wanted to get on the road earlier. Interesting that there was a well stocked gift shop by the check-in area. Our stay was a big disappointment and our last stay here. read more

Other areas of service lacked somewhat from the towel hut and pool area. Rooms- small and outdated, not very clean. Sheets are SUPER rough, Bathroom was tiny. Odd smell through like must. Location- lacked. Nothing nearby but the beach and one onsite restaurant that's not ranked great. Pool is a simple and outdated one, limited seating. Overall we didn't get the restful vibe we were looking for. Really lacked for the price. I would def pay a bit more for them overall experience and amenities next time. I'm only giving 2 stars because of the beach access & pool. The room was horrible. The first floor room had tile floors that were filthy. My husband wiped the bathroom floor because it was damp & the towel was black. The place is cute, staff was friendly. But the walls are paper thin in the hotel room. I thought someone left their phone in our room because the ringing was so loud. Nope, it was the room next door. I could hear them like they were in our room. The doors were thin & you could hear everything. People leaving their rooms, and slamming doors. Wheels from luggage in the hallway, cleaning people's carts. We were up all night. Not to mention the air conditioning which sounded like a jet plane taking off. There was a convention at the hotel, so people were outside of our room late into the night talking & drinking. We had to knock on the window to get them to leave. I'm sure they had no idea we could hear them. The pool was great & the semi private beach was amazing. We napped there by day since we were exhausted. It was a great location. 10-15 minutes to downtown. Walking distance to mini golf & ice cream. Hopefully they will remodel the rooms. read more

Great place to stay on the beach and the prices are great too. I think the thing I loved most about this place was the view from our room. Even though we were on the side of the building we had a partial view of the ocean. The patio off the room is great. The room is great and the bed and pillows are super comfy. The bathroom is little small but it did the job. The pool area is nice and has a bar to help quench your thirst. There is a gazebo and walkway right outside the pool area for access to the beach. The employees here are very friendly especially the bartender I encountered at the pool area. Thanks for the amazing pina coladas. We enjoyed this place a lot and we were looking forward to eating at their restaurant Santiago's after we realized this was one of the places I had saved on Yelp and it was literally inside the hotel. We didn't end up eating there though because it was empty and we were in the mood to go to a vibey place with music but from their reviews it looks great. I have no complaints about this place. I feel the company is a bit heavy-handed with the title "resort" in regards to this property. Nary a salon, massage, or spa can be found on this Florida property. However, if you're looking for a decent hotel with upgraded signage and the convenience of a tiled hallway in lieu of tacky hotel carpeting...this just might be your slice of paradise. Highlights include the service and striking view of the pristine, perfectly spaced parking lot. The room was clean, so no worries there! The beach is nice, and I recommend forking over the dough for the convenience of umbrellas and chairs. Go big or go home, right? Know they will be swiped up promptly at 4pm ("No exceptions!" we were told!) Be ready to schlep your own luggage down those slick hallways and settle for a solid hotel experience for your tropical stay. Don't be too impressed by the strategically placed pictures...and be if you need to avoid peeing in the pool, know that two solid porta potties sans air conditioning are waiting for you in the parking lot. Bring your own umbrella if you need to wait. This Florida Sun is a bitter mistress. Say hello to Dennis at the bar! He probably won't remember, but he makes a solid fruity beverage that will help dull the edges of this "resort" stay. read more

This is the second year in a row I have attended the Give Kids the World Village annual fundraiser at this hotel on St. AUGUSTINE Beach. It is a fantastic hotel with wonderful staff who all pitch in to make this event a joy to attend. The hotel is very beach with plenty of beach style decorations and theming. They have a big gift shop on their lobby that sells all types of beach related gear and clothing. There is also a restaurant in the lobby for dining. Outside, there is a nice pool and a tiki bar, with plenty of tables for outside dining. I plan on attending this event for many years to come, and I also plan on supporting this hotel. read more

The rooms are a little old timey but with great water pressure. This property is in NO way a resort. The only positives were that the front desk staff was friendly upon check in and that the AC worked well (even though it was literally falling out of the wall). The room was dirty and outdated. I never expect ultra modern in a beach town, but the drop ceilings look like they're about to drop, and some of the paint looks old enough to buy itself a beer. The doors had enough of a gap all the way around that you could see an inch of light coming in from the bottom, tops, and sides of the door from the hallway all night long. There were peanuts left on the floor of our room even though it was supposedly cleaned prior to check in. The shower door was caked in hard water stains, and there were still handprints on the window from when the last adult guests obviously enjoyed themselves... Vomit inducing, honestly. The in-room placard that recommended the restaurant downstairs explicitly advertised "room service". When I dialed the extension on the card and asked to place an order for room service, I was very rudely told "it's not room service, it's TO GO SERVICE, so you have to come get it". So, we opted not to dine there at all. If you're looking for a beach getaway, stay literally anywhere else. The price they charge for an ocean view room is borderline criminal when you consider how dated and dingy the property is. I'd have been better off burning the cash and sleeping in the car. To call this a 3-star hotel/resort is like calling a turd sandwich fine dining. It's no wonder why the place was a ghost town. read more

Our room was over priced compared to nearby nicer options. This hotel is dated and the room itself smelled terrible. There were numerous random, loud sounds throughout the night that shook the room and woke my husband and I up. The air conditioning unit was very loud and would randomly start and stop throughout the night. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the pillows were basically a sheet of paper. There are a lot of smokers at this hotel, so if you have allergies you should be aware of this as well. I feel like for the price we paid to stay here, we were robbed. ($300) I would have much preferred to stay at another hotel where I was not afraid to use the shower. read more

Many ways they can improve this hotel. Had to search for luggage cart to schlep our own suitcases. Two elevators- desperately needing cosmetic updates. Laminate is peeling off every panel. There was really no air conditioning in the hallways and there was always an electrical smell toward the elevators. The room: Needs new carpet and some TLC. It is somewhat outdated, and carpet was filthy. The shower is small and took forever to get warm water. The sink is so big and very powerful stream of water coming out, spraying all over. It left virtually no counter space. The pool/bar: Pool was great, tiki bar bartender was on point. Sadly the party ends at 8pm. They close early. The restaurant: it was ok. Mahi nuggets and Mahi entree were both good. Service outside seating was not the best. We were kind of forgotten by ur waitress. The bar inside is open til 11pm on weekends - which is a plus. All in all, for $328 a night plus fees, I had higher expectations. There are alot of cosmetic things that need attention. Being the only hotel for miles was why we chose it. It is far from the historic district and sunset boat cruises. Parking is free with the room. They really need to spend some money fixing the stuff that is bad. I might consider going back in off-season, but not for over $700++for 2 nights. read more

The room was spotless. The walls are a little thin but that's most hotels. The restaurant downstairs isn't the best, but we enjoyed it and the convenience of having an option to eat in our hotel. The resort is right on the beach and there is a short walk over a little bridge which is quite convenient from the hotel pool. The pool area includes a Tiki bar that overlooks the pool, property and the ocean. The exterior colors of the property are so vibrant and the pool bar has a Caribbean vibe. The pool water was so nice and warm, and stays open late. The hotel itself is ultra clean and the service was very efficient. The food at the restaurant was amazing! For breakfast, I got the Avocado Toast with eggs. For dinner, we got the Shrimp Po Boy, Shrimp and Grits and the Ceasar salad along with two different desserts. How amazing the New Orleans flavors! I was catfished. Room looked nothing like the photos presented on their website. Check in was pleasant and that is where the positive review ends. Hallways smelled and the drop ceiling was literally about to drop. Everything and I mean everything is old and dated. Room was small and cramped and dirty. Found a peanut and food on the floor. Bathroom smelled constantly. Handprints from former guest were still on the window. Took my grandbabies there to experience the beach and we did enjoy that and appreciated the short walk to play in the surf. The place is NOT a resort! It is a hotel...and not a very good one. Tiki Bar was shuttered at 7:30 and towel service at poolside was never open. "Room Service" is actually "come get it youself" service which was rudely barked by the person answering the phone. For the price I paid for the room, I expected a lot more. Disappointed is not a strong enough emotion. Will not be returning and would strongly NOT tecommend this place. read more

I would give this place 5 stars for location, 4 stars for service and 3 stars for the room itself. It is not really a resort but an older motel that was re-branded as a Guy Harvey Resort. If you are looking for a beach-front accommodation that won't break the bank, this might be ok. But don't expect a luxury resort. We reserved a 5th floor ocean view king and the view was awesome. Personally I would not want 1st, 2nd or 3rd floor room looking out to the pool area as you would have no privacy. 4th & 5th floor overlooking ocean are fine. But I would not want any other rooms here as they look out over the parking lots & neighboring buildings. The room itself was small & balcony is small but serviceable. The king room has a table w/ pull out lower level you can use to eat on & 2 bar stool/chairs that slide under. In addition to a kurig coffee maker it also had a mini-fridge & small microwave. The bathroom was small with a small walk-in shower. The room was clean and bed was comfy. This is a pet friendly place & you could hear dogs barking when you were in the hall but we could not heat them when we were in our room. There is a restaurant on the property but we did not eat there. Additionally they had a bar & grill out by the pool that generally shut down by around 6 or 7 pm. They had live music in the afternoons that also ended by 6-6:30ish. You can rent 2 beach chairs w/umbrella for $40/day. read more

Just checked in for a couple night stay. We won the stay at a silent auction at Endless Summer Run at Anastasia State Park. Always good to help a nonprofit organization. We have a partial ocean view with a small balcony and a couple of chairs. Perfect place for a glass or two of wine while enjoying the St Augustine Beach weather. More updates to follow. This was our first time to St. Augustine, we were pleasantly surprised, it certainly lived up to the hype on YouTube. We chose Guy Harvey because of his reputation from the art work and T-Shirts you see everywhere. The location is right on the beach in the middle Anastasia Island, just a couple miles South of St. Augustine. It only takes a few minutes to get into town. I believe the hotel was an old Holiday Inn, which Guy Harvey converted / upgraded. The lobby is super nice, has everything you would expect - Cafe, Guy Harvey Store and lounge. The hotel was very clean, well kept, and spacious, and the AC worked great, but if you look close enough you can see the hotels age. (Did not matter in any way, she's doing fine) The room was large, clean and we overlooked the pool and beach. In the evening on the weekends, we could hear live music from our balcony. (They stopped at a reasonable time) The service was great, coffee was provided in the room, plenty of towels and we loved the pool. We will certainly come back next year, had an enjoyable time. read more

Called to book an accessible room this morning. I have a friend that wants to come down from Pennsylvania. It would be an adult male 30 years old and his father that travel. after a four wheeler accident years ago, the young man is confined to a motorized wheelchair. He must be moved to a portable wheelchair in order to take a shower. Hence he needs a roll in shower.. The hotel informs me that they have 2 roll in shower rooms and they can book them, but they can't promise me that my reservation will mean anything when they get to the front desk and arrive for a two week vacation. ($3000++ stay) This is so rude having no regard for accessibility or guest needs this is shameful. read more

This review is based off the pool area and front lobby. Our family was down and staying at this Resort. They invited us for a day at the poolside for drinks and fun. The resort itself is right off of A1A and is quite nice! Everywhere was clean and professional. The front lobby and the inside cafe was all Guy Harvey themed and had many Guy Harvey apparel for sale. The pool deck was spacious with good seating around the pool and the bar with a beach access for guest staying. The bartender Brent was awesome and friendly. I took a look at one of the rooms and they seemed very nice. I would check this place out if it was $149 a night nothing over that though. read more

I have been to around 100 hotels! THIS IS THE BEST resort EVER!!!! Everyone is awesome and so sweet and it seems so authentic! I have never wanted to stay longer at a place EVER! Typically I cant wait to go home, but this is not that! The prices at Santiagos is great. The pool is above and beyond! YOU have to come here to experience the greatness, relaxation, and Zen of this place! I do not think I have the adjectives that would describe the beauty of this place. We love St Augustine and this hotel was the perfect place for our entire family! The hotel is completely dog friendly! Even at the restaurant, they're allowed to sit outside with you. It's simple, yet elegant and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. They have a restaurant with breakfast, limited lunch and dinner. There's a tiki bar by the pool that serves cocktails. Through the pool deck there is a beautiful boardwalk that leads you to the ocean. The rooms were nicely done, beds made beautifully and the bathrooms were really nice. Super clean and for it being a dog friendly hotel you couldn't smell dog at all. Highly recommend and will definitely be staying again! read more

We stayed here on a weekend in March 2024, room 116, in the back half of the hotel. The room looks like it wasn't cleaned and theres sketchy items under the bed. The beds themselves had sand in them and had bumpy textures in the bed that were super uncomfortable. The bathrooms are basic but the big takeaway is you can clearly hear the people in the next room when you are in the bathroom - so clear I thought it was coming from my room- I think it's how the vents are put together. At $350+ cost we thought we'd avoid things like this. The pool was ice cold so that was of no use and, plan ahead, because the only option for snacks or water is a single vending machine for snacks and one for drinks- there is not market or option in front of hotel. Staff was nice. Hallways smelled really strong of cleaner but at least were clean. I would not recommend or stay here again. The plus is it's on the beach and guessing what we paid for. read more

I read a lot of the other posts before booking this hotel and before writing my review and here's going to be my main takeaway: for the price and the dog friendly environment, I was pleased with what we got. There are certainly areas for improvement but a hotel on the beach? How long were we in the room? Only to sleep. Lobby staff: Extremely friendly. The check-in process was smooth and easy. There was an addition dog fee (I believe $50/night but a maximum of $100). They took my cell phone number and let us know that if they heard our dog they would call and expected us to come back and deal with it. Fair enough. It never happened but our dog is also a ten pound thirteen year old Yorkie, he doesn't really bark anymore. Rooms: While i understand the reasoning for carpeting, the carpeting felt a little yicky. It looked like it hadn't been re-done in a while and that's the reason for four stars. The rooms felt dated. Everything was clean, AC worked very well and while I was worried we would hear a lot of noise at night being over the parking lot, we heard none. Pool/Beach/etc: We really enjoyed the pool and beach. At times it was a bit crowded but it was hot at a family hotel so to be expected. The bar was a great addition, although be warned, you may wait a bit. I love that they had a bbq in the back with different choices daily. It added a very nice touch. A+ for live music and yoga on the beach. If I was thinking about giving a three these two things solicited a four star rating. The girl who ran yoga on the beach was so kind and it was incredibly relaxing. For a long weekend, this place was good and I wouldn't hesitate to come back. read more

We enjoyed our stay at the Guy Harvey Hotel. From the very beginning check in was easy. Any time we had a question or needed assistance there was someone available. There is a restaurant at the front, Santiago's. We went for breakfast once and oh man the fresh squeezed orange juice is liquid gold! Our room was fourth floor double queen. The view was incredible! We were fortunate enough to watch the sunrise a few mornings. The beach was awesome! The waves were ferocious and fun but definitely exhausting! Then we would rinse off in the shower and hop in the pool to relax! It was a great week! The location is also awesome and very close to everything. I would stay here again for sure read more

Start of November, passing through on our way to Miami... cause a 14-hour drive with 3 kids is a nightmare. Through Hotel Tonight, I snagged a standard room for $108. Not bad at all. The hotel is laid out like a rectangle, and the smallest end faces the beach. So unless you are on level 3 or higher, at the tiny end, it's not a great beach view... but that's OK, cause can you see the ocean while you sleep? Levels 1 and 2 just have a standard hotel window, while 3+ have actual balconies with a table and chairs. We checked in, let the boys play in the ocean, and then headed to a late dinner. Husband and 3 boys got the burgers- and the kids burger is the adult burger with only cheese. Same size. I got the blackened fish sandwich (snapper was the fish) and it was super tasty. Unfortunately for my husband and youngest the burger didn't sit well and for my son it came back later that night. My husband just laid in bed miserable, not wanting the trouble of getting up from bed. 2 adults, 3 kids, Bill including tip $100 The beds - it's such an individual liking whether a bed is comfortable or not. We like a soft mattress, and if there's a foam topper, even better. This bed was hard, and I felt like I could feel the springs underneath. So, if you opt for softer beds, keep this in mind. At a 6am wake-up call, we left my husband to do some work (great internet thanks to fiber optics apparently) and I took the kids to the beach to see the sunrise. Because November, the pool was empty, as was the tiki bar. But I could see it being a really fun place to hang out. So I give 4 stars only cause the beds were so hard we hardly slept at all, and the AC sounded like a ghost was coming to get us as it turned off and on throughout the night. read more

My husband and I take a trip to St. Augustine every year for Memorial Weekend. Last year, we stayed at a bed and breakfast several miles north of this location, but due to the prices rising - we decided Guy Harvey allowed us to get everything we wanted and needed out of our vacation and budget. We did our research and found that this particular location was right in the middle of a plethora of restaurants, grocery stores, and right beachside. Not to mention, it was dog friendly - something of utmost importance to us since our dog, Stella, joins us on this trip every year! We checked in early Saturday only to find that our room was not ready. We weren't in any rush to get into our room, so the concierge directed us to a great restaurant nearby. When finished with our lunch, we headed back and found that our room was ready! We had requested an ocean view and that is exactly what they gave us! The hotel itself was very clean, well kept, and spacious. I found myself sifting through the gift shop on multiple occasions for souvenirs to take home with me. While I didn't buy anything particular, they did have some good options. We got into our room which was super spacious! We pretty much unloaded everything and headed on our patio, our favorite part! When sitting there, we noticed this resort had a pool and bar downstairs with live music. We sat and listened to the music prior to heading down to the beach. We spent most of our vacation at the beach, but spent a little time at the bar downstairs as well. The service was absolutely amazing and the drinks were strong for the price you paid! No foul there. I had a great stay with my family. We came for a concert at the amphitheater. The beach access was nice. The staff is nice. The view was good. I wish I knew they allowed pets! Next time we will bring ours. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Room was spotless, hotel grounds are clean and well kept. Staff were helpful and friendly. Location is just feet from the the beach where the beach is clean and well kept with a life Guard situated in front of the hotel. Pool was clean and well maintained, tiki Bar was well stocked and tender Chase was knowledgable and friendly Rentals available on site, boogie boards, surf boards, umbrellas and beach chairs make enjoying the beach easy and comfortable. In room fridge and microwave are great for storing and reheating leftovers from the Onsite Restaurant Santiagos, where the food was excellent and generous. Ricky the Chef prepares the dishes expertly and the staff, Kylee, Mark and Josephine served it perfectly. Christa and Dennis are both great bartenders with friendly smiles and stories of The area. will definitely plan another visit to this little gem on the Island. read more

They allow weed smoking in rooms or at least won't do anything about it on top of that almost every night and afternoon all you can smell is weed. It is way too expensive just to smell weed all night. read more

The good thing is the ambience as it is A little bit decent because there's a lot of dogs barking everywhere the food is the bad thing because all of the products that use flour are. VERY thick I can't complain about that but now we have PANCAKES AT 28$ AND PLUS THE OTHER STUFF YOU BUY ITS MOST LIKLEY GOING TO BE 60$+ AT THE CHECK OUT and almost forgot the hotel is 300$ but the hotel rooms are nice along with the pool but just be prepared so bring a sweater and pants along with things that you wear in the cold because the area it's located at is cold most of the time and also very prepared for rip currents but other than that there's a lot of more cool stuff to do there like chill out in a campfire heating marshmallows so I would recommend going here but just don't order too much food or just don't order at all read more
