great school modern Alpharetta campus, we were told this was the school for ultrasound technicians !

I have yet to even begin classes but yet, I want to change my major. I have 100 different tabs and unanswered emails and unhelpful staff barely any responses or any answers. Doing all of this almost makes me not want to go to college at all. Phone numbers that don't work and only Way to get these answers is to either wait for an appointment 2 weeks ahead or going in person to the school. Hello, My name's Larisa. I recently arrived from another country. I was planning my life here and my first step is to enroll for the free ESL course at Gwinnett College. After the course I want to continue studying. I visited your college and saw a reputable and reliable institution, that can give me the necessary education. It is essential (important)for me to improve my language skills as soon as possible in order to get a good job and develop my career. On 14th of November I came to apply for the course in person, I had collected and submitted all the required documents. Upon the application I was informed that I joined the group for the course starting in January 2025, and I have to wait for the email notification. In view of my future my studies I began to prepare and I adjusted my work schedule to the evening shift, infringing my family arrangements and personal life. For this reason I've adjusted my work schedule,my family arrangements and personal life so it won't distract me from my studies. The long-awaited January has come, there were no news from the college. When I had arrived to the campus I was informed that the group is full and I was left out... I haven't received any notice or calls from the college. Eventually, the assistant from room 812 gave me a list of paid courses. Currently I do not have an opportunity to pay for the course due to life circumstances. I'm really sad about the situation because after ESL courses at this college I would like to complete course on early child education. I was supposed to graduate in spring of 2020, thinking I have finished all my courses, but they kept telling me I had one more course to take. So, I ended up graduating in 2021. They messed up my last year there. This college made me stay for 4 years instead of three because the lack of communication when it came to the courses I was taking for Marketing program was bad. I was never offered any internships for my major after I graduated. What a waste of time and money. read more

I'm paying $400+ in school fees alone to just watch Crash Course videos and fill in a $30 lecture book.

Being a prospective student very interested in the programs the college has to offer, i have had a very unsettling experience getting the information i need, to say the very least. I have been emailing and calling the school and department heads for about 2-3 weeks (using the numbers provided on the colleges' website) and have yet to receive 1. a response at all, nor 2. answers to the questions i need in order to begin applying. I have had to resort making the drive up to the college in order to get my questions answered. Even then, the building room that i was directed to, from the same website, was not available, and i was directed through 2 other buildings to end up at OneStop and finally get the information i needed. While i was very interested in applying to the college, the unnecessary effort and work that i had to do in order to talk to someone about the program(s) i was interested in deterred me from wanting to apply, if at all. There definitely needs to be changes implemented. I feel like a students ability to get in contact with the school itself can be a direct reflection of how studies will go. read more

I was here for a 1 day contnuing Ed course in the Busbee Building. The breakfast offering was simple but good.. Bagels, muffins, fruit, coffee and Bigelow teas. It was VERY cold I was the conference room. It felt like a breeze was blowing. The bathroom facilities were plentiful and clean. They even had the in-wall filtered water dispenser. I don't even know where to start, i've been trying to enroll into their ged classes for the second time since covid happened, and mind you i NEED to be in classes in order to receive my social security benefits from my mother passing. In october i enrolled for classes... never got my schedule but yet some how was my fault so i had to wait for the November classes, but my birthday is November 10th when i turn 18 and i'm supposed to be in classes before my birthday. I've emailed about 5 times from not just one email but THREE still have yet to get a reply and i'm asking if i need to resend my enroll information because i didn't for the October classes but now it's November 2nd and i was told in October i needed to email them before November 1st which i have from multiple sources, still waiting for a reply from the multiple emails i've sent. Who knows if someone will email back. if you work for a school, please care about the people trying to go to school. read more

I would honestly give 0 stars if possible. Used to do dual enrollment here - had no issues with that 2 years ago. Now, you can't get in touch with a SINGLE person. I submitted all of my documents to me re accepted, paid the application fee (even though I was already in before hand??) to find out MONTHS later I was told the wrong thing. The lady that answered the phone was absolutely rude as well. Classes start Jan 10th, and all I've done was reach out via phone calls, appointments (which I never actually get a call for) and emails. The lady had the audacity to tell me I NEED to reach out to them when that's all I've been doing! Been on hold for 1 hour just trying to get my application sorted out because she said I should be accepted since I submitted everything and used to be a student there. It's been 2 months my my status still says pending, when I shouldn't have even needed to do that process anyways. Typing this as I'm looking for a different school to go to. The lady from the Recruitment Dept doesn't seem to like her job very much at all. Her tone was very boring, it sounded as if she had just woken up out of bed and did not want to be at work. Individuals pay thousands of dollars to attend school and you would want to make it seem like these potential students would be interested to attend GTC, but her professionalism prove otherwise. read more

I am a current student of gtc. and since I have been attending this college the service has become quite dismal over. Severely under staffed not not quite equipped to address a lot of students needs. 1.The business office has one person availability to take calls and the same person in the voice mail service to return calls. 2. Even before COVID, the return of any calls made to gtc can take more than 3-4 days or more. If I have something urgent you have to take care of such as student loan or any other documents needed, gtc will send you the information late and guess where the ultimate fault lies, with you. 3. The cloud Services they used such as CENGAGE AND BLACKBOARD breaks down a lot leaving pending grades and calculations, etc of in disarray most of the time. 4. Some books or Mind tap products are not used but the bookstore saids you need them on their website, BUT YOU DO NOT which results in wasted money and of course expensive books or books not available but you still have t find a way to complete your assignments. 5. The career center, the recreational events, learning center,etc. depending on the location can suck SO MUCH IS WRONG WITH THIS COLLEGE, however despite these thhings I just jump through the hops. There are some good things but in my experiences the bad or it is what it is cases is what you will find. Not saying avoid this college because I have gain a lot of education and exposure to things I never would have achieved on my own. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I applied to their echocardiography program. I took all of the prereq's, the TEAS, paid to send my TEAS scores to them, and paid their application fee. My application was denied because of a physics course. I took Phys 1111 and Phys 1112 at UGA in 2017/2018. Gwinnett's echo program requires a lower level, Phys 1110. So essentially, I've taken level 2 Physics but GTC requires level 1. The Healthcare Team advised me to send the syllabus from Phys 1111 along with a request for course equivalency to the Registrar so they can forward the information to the Physics director so he can determine if the courses are equal. The Physics director determined that the classes are equal so my request was approved. After going through all of the e-mail exchanges with the Registrar and the Physics director, my app was still denied. Even though I was advised by the Healthcare Team to submit a request for course equivalency so my credits can be transferred in, those same people told me that Phys 1111 would not cover Phys 1110 and I would need to apply again next year. After a week or so, I finally get the Physics issue solved with the help of Dr. White. On that same day, which is also the deadline for the program application, the Healthcare team e-mails me saying they reviewed my application again and now needs AP scores sent directly from College Board by the end of the day. Those scores are from 7 years ago. There's no way of sending them within 24 hours and they knew that which is probably why she waited until the last day to ask for them. This entire time, the people I'm talking to with the Healthcare team are anonymous. There's no names in the signature of the e-mails. Once I find out, I will update this review because the person I've been talking to behind the Healthcare Team has a nasty attitude and they were extremely short and unhelpful. read more

The professors I have had here are absolutely amazing. They all genuinely love and care about their students and make class extremely engaging. The financial aid office?? Absolute GARBAGE. I had to figure out ways to take out sketchy loans to pay for my school all 3 semesters of this school because they would LITERALLY just ignore me when I needed help getting a loan. If you are going to this school and need financial assistance: do not count on it. If you can afford it off the bat- great for you- and go for it. read more

I went to Gwinnett Tech to participate in one of their job fairs this year. I've never been there so i didn't know what to expect. The facility was really nice we walked into the main building which had an atrium and several large conference halls. The staff were very organized and we even had someone help us with our gear and show us to our table. They provided lunch at Jason's Deli which was leaps and bounds better than some of the food I've eaten at these things. Overall, it was a good experience. read more

This schools has worked my nerves on so many different levels. First off, their phone lines are setup to hang up if you call too many times. Secondly, you can forget getting on contact with Financial Aid. The only person that will answer is the operator. Everyone else you can forget it. The only form of contact is via email and they answer weeks later. I have called this school since June and still can't get anyone to help. I have 5 classes to go and still cant get into school. I went to this college. I love the professors although the courses are too easy for me, but it is a good 2 year college if you just want to get into the work force first. It is a well known in the area. One thing I don't like is the major classes are not transferable to the 4 year colleges, so if your goal is to get 4years degree, you should take all the core courses in and transfer so it will save you money and time. j read more

I spoke to several people on the phone today because their registration procedure is unclear. Every single person I spoke to on the phone here, three different people, were all extremely rude. I am shocked. I was talked to as if I was stupid, cut off several times, and they tried to brush me off and send me to a different department when I knew who I was supposed to be calling. Was here today to get my taxes done for free, yes free. Go upstairs find the sign in sheet fill it out and wait. The earlier you get there the better your chances the glitch is the sign in time start between seven and eight a.m.. You can leave then come back when they start taking people at one until four p.m. and kick the line? If you sign past the black line you may not be seen due to the number of people. I would be one of those, after waiting for over two half hours my name was called. WOOP! One person will fill in the numbers and a supervisor will check the work and answer any questions you might have. Bring your social security card, Id, all forms and proof of deductions if any. AARP is taking care of the numbers, the good thing is you don't have to be a member or over fifty to get in on this. The horticulture department was havening a plant sale this day prices are very reasonable. Hanging baskets were two for $16.00 others are based on the size of the pot the plant is planted in. I was thinking about taking classes here next semester but this school lacks professionalism and concern for their students. For it to be a well know technical college I expected better but instead I got faculty and staff that treat you like they are hierarchy and you are a peasant. There enrollment process is not clear enough for a new student and their staff doesn't like to answer question. I was planning on taking classes there since the credits were less but I guess you get what you pay for, I will stay at GGC. read more

This school is absolutely horrible! They Claim to be "there for the students" and they are everything but that! I took a teacher here that was unbelievably unreasonable. She had no regard for students that worked while taking classes and still trying to do what they were supposed to. I went back to my home town to support my family in a major death that we had, which happened to be in a different time zone. I had an assignment due on the weekend I was there and I completed it but by the time zone that I was currently in, not the time zone the school. She didn't care, she didn't except it, not even partial credit. The start of the second semester, I was convinced that the school was a joke. I had been dropped from my classes right before the semester started due to a financial aid issue. When I got reinstated, of course the classes were full and they wouldn't put me back into the class, even though the teacher told me it would be okay to add me. After talking to a few uninterested and unhelpful staff members, I ended up switching campuses at the end of the week. I attended my classes on a Tuesday, one of which didn't even have a teacher there. By Wednesday afternoon, I was dropped AGAIN because the teacher marked me as a no show! Once again, after their mistakes and talking to people would could really care less about the mishaps I continued to go through with this school, I was told that I had to track these people down and have them fill out a form to put me back into the class. This school has been nothing but a headache. I have been to a few schools, counting the one I received my bachelors from, and I have not endured as much there as I have here. These people that work here are inconsiderate, lack compassion and empathy and quite frankly need to change around some of their policies to fit the student's more then their own! I am a current student at GTC and I am so disgusted with my program director. Every class that I have taken in my major has ended in disaster! The assignment calculations are always wrong or off and you are graded by a point system. So when you think that you are getting a certain grade in the course based on the syllabus/rubric that was given at the beginning of the course, the professor finally realizes that the points were miscalculated and you receive a different grade than expected and they make it seem like it's your fault. They apparently don't care about the students here and when I last checked, it is our money paying for the classes and we attend by choice! GTC runs like a public school, they feel like we are obligated to attend. And no one answers the phone! Be prepared to be in their face if you need answers. read more

New programming director does not know what he is doing. I had a professor that didn't know what blackboard was and also wanted us to do 8 programs a week. I asked for help because I didn't get some of the concepts and the teacher said, "Just keep working at it" . I am sorry, but that does not help me. I am not here to learn on my own. If I was I would not be attending this class. They need to revamp these courses and fast. I had to drop the class do to the lack of care this teacher had for his students. I would not recommend going to this school for computer programming. Its sad because the old program director was great. read more

Mrs. Long is the strangest teacher I've ever had. She is much more interested in being liked by popular groups of students rather than teaching. At a meeting I had with her, she had students waiting with her to laugh loudly at me as I left. It's like she is still in high school. She had so many body issues, she spoke of them in class. If she likes you, you're in luck! If she doesn't, you will not pass with competitive grades. Good luck. read more

Excellent school, with exceptional math teacher Ms. Lorraine. This location is convenient and their schedules are also flexible.

The courses were good, mostly good professors and all. The reason I have a problem with this business is that they have a poor staff that shouldn't be entrusted with important documents. The registrar lost my transcripts, twice. Paid for a semester in person via check and it was lost. And wasn't contacted about some type of outstanding fee until long after completing my final course and was waiting on my diploma. Not to mention that most credits won't transfer to other schools. Learned that the hard way. Save yourself the trouble and go to ggc or anywhere else. read more
