Updating my last review as we attended the Mini Me class again and the overall experience was better. Our class was every Saturday 10:15-11 with Ms. Noreen. They have a new system where billing is done automatically each month and you simply send an email when you're ready to cancel. I liked this method. My toddler attended from mid August until November. Ms. Noreen is AWESOME and fills her classes with fun! Each week was different and she interacts with each child to ensure full participation. This is a class that parents attend which is good b/c some toddlers get a bit wayward. They allow makeup classes so maybe people wo keep their sick kids home!?! Nope, that's wishful thinking... I highly recommend signing up for a class if Ms. Noreen is your coach. read more

Open gym review: Full disclosure that I started this review three months ago, and I'm STILL fuming about what happened! I was on maternity leave this summer, so for the days that my toddler wasn't in daycare, I wanted to find fun options for he, my infant & I to go to. My toddler has always loved the open gym (even though the cleanliness and smell made me feel like I needed two scalding showers afterwards). We went twice with friends, and I wore the baby in an infant carrier while enjoying the gym with my toddler. The third time, I went with my two kids, and brought my mom as well. Upon arriving, we were told by the front desk person that we had to pay for my infant. I said he was only 2.5 months old - and she proceeding to tell me that then, in fact, I could NOT wear him into the gym. She claimed there were "signs everywhere" and apologized that the "previous person" hadn't advised me. I told her that the "previous person" was herself (I've only ever seen one person at the front desk - always the same woman) - and asked her where said signs were. Not surprisingly, she couldn't find any signs, and after several minutes said "well it's in the fine print." When I told her I wouldn't be returning she said, "Well do you want your money back now so you can leave?" TALK ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE FOLKS! I mean...I can't. I could not believe how unbelievably rude this woman was. Their lack of consistency (and cleanliness) means I'll never return and am sure to share my experience with anyone that brings up this spot. If you dare enter - bring ALL the hand sanitizers, wipes, etc that you can find. And perhaps burn your clothes afterwards because you'll never get "that smell" out of them. read more

As others have mentioned the customer service is very poor. Once you pay for your class, which is reasonable, you then get hit for the extras. Extras include tickets to the final show which cost as much as going to a professional play, musical, etc. If you want a photo better be ready to pay-up again because you cant take your own, photos or video, it's prohibited! This will be the last time we utilize this facility, they don't care about the kids, they only care about how many different ways they can make money. read more

Very disappointed with the customer service. We went to the facility to look into classes for our daughter. We filled out some paperwork with our name/address/email and were entered into the computer. Since the class we wanted was already in progress and the next would start when our daughter was 23 months old (min age 24 mos) we needed to leave a message for the instructor (permission for early admission). We never received a return call or email and when we tried to register for classes at 24 months, they were full. Mind you- the receptionist's message was a handwritten note on a yellow sticky. Chances are it was lost, but even after we called to make other inquiries we still never received a return call. The only message we repeatedly receive is via email asking us to rate their services for classes for which we have never been able to enroll. If it is this difficult to even speak with an instructor, I can't imagine the 1:1 time with the kids. Thanks but no thanks. We'll continue going elsewhere. read more

This place is dirty, smelly, has poor customer service and is overpriced. The first time I came here was for a kids birthday party, my kids loved it! We went into the gym area with it was filthy dirty and smelled awful. We came for a second birthday party and it seemed much better. We decided to enroll both kids in classes. They move the kids in it out like cattle. They never gave feedback. Once I asked to talk to the teacher to tell her my daughter was having a problem and she did not even know who my daughter was. Now I saw a Groupon for open gym classes and this place is so close to my house that I decided to try it again. Came in today for 10 a.m. open gym. They said it changed to 11, although they did not update their website they advertised us that signs are posted around the facility. I was going to address my concerns with the management but they are not available. Jump elsewhere! read more

Two of my kids have been going GymQuest for over three years now and love it. The coaching staff goes above and beyond to make sure the kids are in appropriate levels and move up as needed. They take the time to talk to the parents and keep you involved . We have also been to several open gyms where the kids get to play and work on skills at their own leisure. It is well staffed and monitored to ensure a safe environment for children of all ages and levels. I will continue to recommend GymQuest to all friends who are interested in their children getting good instruction on all equipment while having fun at the same time. read more

We absolutely love Gym Quest!! The only reason why I am giving them four stars is because it seems they're classes fill quickly and often times we are unable to get the times and days that work best for us. So, I would highly suggest calling weeks before a new session begins. read more

My 3yr old son who is on the autism spectrum were asked to leave Gymquest's open gym after 20 minutes on Friday January 4, 2013. He was not causing any harm knowingly to any child. He simply just doesn't understand their one person per trampoline rule. While I tried to get him to stay at another part of the gym one of their coaches or trainers grabs him by the arm without my permission. Although, he wasn't hurt, he has had his elbow dislocated before and was susceptible for another occurrence. I yelled her to let go and she ran to get the front desk receptionist who came in to as us to come on a less crowded day. I informed her he is a non verbal, 3yr old, on the autism spectrum. He just doesn't understand how to follow directions. She didn't care and just refunded my $ and asked me to come back. I am not about to go back to a facility in my hometown just to keep getting kicked out. The director of recreation called me only after she saw a Facebook post of my complaint about the way we were treated at their establishment. The owner has yet to contact me. We have been to the facility for open gym for 5 years. Since my son has been diagnosed in February 2012 this was the first ever establishment that we have encountered such treatment and lack of compassion. I am a member of an Autism Moms group who schedules meetups the last Sundays of the month. She didn't know I knew of this and never offered us this option. My only request is to create awareness as to how they treat families with a child with special needs. Thank you read more

I agree with the reviews that the customer service is not the best. The front desk girl seems to get overwhelmed if she has to do more than one thing at a time. They rarely answer the phone during business hours. Pricing is fair and the classes are okay. My kid likes it and it's close to home, so we continue to go. Most of the gymnastic instructors are teens that probably went there as a kid. I'm not looking for anything too crazy so it works for us. Open jump no longer allows adults in the gym which is a bit nerve wreaking since I feel my 4 year old is still too small to just "let loose". read more

My daughters began attending classes at GymQuest in parent tot classes and have advanced to the competition teams. The growth that they have experienced could not be achieved without a dedicated and knowledgeable staff. The discipline that they have been taught thru the sport is immediately transferable to their everyday lives. They have also been a part of the DanceQuest program and we could not be happier. We initially only signed up because it was supposed to help in the development of our daughters as gymnasts. We have stayed because the instructors are passionate and engaging to children of all ages. Girls are evaluated and moved up as necessary for both gymnastics and dance which results in the kids always growing. read more

I am extremely disappointed with Gym Quest. My daughter cut the bottom of her foot on a piece of glass that was on the floor in the lobby area. When class is over the kids walk through the lobby area to get their belongings. Stephanie the front desk staff was not prompt in the situation she stayed behind the desk after I told her what happened. I had to GO BACK to the desk to request a Band-Aid because my child was bleeding. She was very nonchalant, I felt like she did not care that my child was hurt! Days have gone by and MANAGEMENT has NOT followed up with me regarding this situation. Extremely disappointed!! read more

First and last time customers tonight for an open gym experience for age 6-14. The 3 kids I brought were 9. No supervision by any of the employees. All employees on their phones and never moved from sitting position. Lots of unsafe behavior and unsafe use of equipment by kids and employees could care less. I witnessed quite a few older kids bullying and pushing younger kids. No correction by any staff. Of course, most kids are dropped off with a waiver on file so no correction by parents either. Lobby was very dirty, Gym appeared dirty through window glass, and ventilation was terrible so it smelled pretty bad. I definitely will never be returning. Beware of open gym there! read more

My family has been coming to gymquest for some time now. We are usually very pleased with coaching staff but my daughter has moved up to girls 3 and the coach has been rude to her on several occasions now and she no longer wants to attend class when she once loved and looked forward to it. Very disappointed that this grown woman has made such a negative impact on my child and i have since learned i am not the first person to be upset with this coach and her attitude. My daughters past coaches (Marissa, Riley, and Hailey) were fantastic, they not only bonded with her and made her feel like they had a friendship but she also made lots of progress. With these coaches i only heard positive remarks from my child, so i give 3 stars for those few coaches who made such a strong positive impact on my daughters life. I do not appreciate that my daughter finally got to a higher level and suddenly wants to quit because she feels tense and disliked by the coach. Most likely leaving the establishment because the same coach teaches the next level up as well. read more

My oldest daughter began gymnastics here over 7 years ago, and has been a part of the dance program for five years now. Now we have three girls in dance there and we couldn't be happier! Miss Emily and the rest of the dance instructors are educated, kind, and very patient--especially with the 3 year olds! My girls have learned so much from this facility and there is little pressure, and a lot of encouragement and support. The gymnastics staff there is amazing as well. Very disappointed in back hand spring clinic! There was confusion at the gym as to what instructor would be teaching. It was supposed to be an hour long class, but it started late and even ended by the instructor a few minutes early. There were only 3 girls in this clinic including my daughter. The instructor kept looking down at a piece of paper as if he wasn't sure what to do. He interacted very little with my child. My daughter has tumbling experience, and she can even do a back hand spring on her own, but she still needs to perfect her form. My daughter got almost no practice with back hand springs at this clinic. My daughter said the instructor was rude to her. I watched through the observation window and could see everything. The class cost $30 for less than an hour. My daughter got absolutely nothing out of this clinic. My complaint to the staff at the front desk was dismissed rudely. I would not recommend their clinics to anyone. read more

Keep a close watch on how and what your child is being taught. My 9 year old son has participated in the gymnastics classes and camps, so I thought I would enroll him in the musical theatre 1 week camp with the Dance Quest program. We recently went to see the Lion King in NY and he was very interested. He had also taken a musical theatre class with the Park District and performed very well. Despite my asking the Dance Quest intructor each day "how is it going" when I would pick him up, she never mentioned he was not interested in doing a performance for the final class. He was the only boy in class and I wanted to be sure he felt comfortable and included. She waited until the day of the perfornance to make the grand statement in front of all of the parent "I did not push anyone to perform outside their comfort level". Well - that's what you get paid to do - to make them explore beyond their perceived boundaries - rather than let the same kids perform 3-4 times. But that was not the problem. The one song he did perform was the finale for all of the participants. And they sang: "I'm a big girl now". Rather poor choice given you have a male in your class. Really - you couldn't find another more inclusive song with all of your so called "years of experience??" So glad Dad was not there for the performance. Still waiting for a call back from the manager. Will keep you updated. Parents - keep watch over the influence others have on your child's self esteem. Every staff member is not necessarily a trained professional. Will be going back to the Park District where staffing is more balanced. read more

We have been going to Gymquest since our oldest daughter was 4 (she's now 10 and on their competitive team). All three of our kids have participated in both dance and gymnastics and two are still there. I have seen growth in their skills, thanks to caring, skilled coaches and teachers. At this point they spend quite a bit of time there each week, and always look forward to practice (that is no exaggeration). That they love it confirms to me that the coaches care, and make them feel motivated and confident as they gain more skills. The facility is the nicest around. The front desk ask always been helpful whether I was registering, needing to make up a class, or was registering late. The dance program is a really well-run, nurturing environment for kids to either just have fun or really develop sound dance skills. Our daughters take ballet to complement their gymnastics ability, and one also participates in their performing company. We could not be happier with our years of experience at Gymquest. read more

first i will say that i had no problem with this place up until this new session. trainers have been great with my kids and and heather at the front desk is awesome she is the reason i was going to stay!!!!! . she should go work for aspire.. note to heater leave your too wonderful to work there!!!!!.... i will never come back to this place again... i'm so pissed off right now that im going there and canceling my classes. don't ever register online.. no point in putting in notes they don't read them!!!!!! they do what they want they have your credit card on file so hey they can charge it as many times as they want cuz they don't look at the account at all..... they bascially took almost 600.00 dollars from me and never mentioned nothing.. and im on a payment plan.. so yeah having 600.00 dollars taken out of your account when you don't realize it is awesome.. never even got a confirmation by email that hey they got in plus they charged me no reciept nothing!!!!... . nothing!!!!!!! the best part is my classes only were suppose to be around 350.00 for total.. somehow with all of this my mistake for going online and registering and talking to the person at front desk on the same day to confirm my kids got in classes... so it was human error. i get that.. but to charge me a 10.00 service charge cuz you charged me too much money and are not able to accomidate my daughter this session for girls 3 never bother telling me just charged me for class... regarding days and times. somehow im penalized when clearly in my notes i stated if you cant then i can't take class... but hey charge me anyway and never tell me.. and now im going and getting my full refund due to the customer service and i feel its ridiculous they charged me 10.00 for human errors... plus im on payment plan and they won't let me so they only refunded half of my money and took the rest to pay for the two classes i had my kids enrolled in. so they are now going to charge me another 10.00 for cancelling the classes today when they start today... clearly they are desperate.. got to love it.. read more
