Great artist and super nice guy. I've been bringing my trophy fish to Naoki for ten years now and always get amazing results. He likes to tell a story with his prints. You won't be disappointed!

It was such a pleasure to meet Naoki today. Hes a very nice and humble man. I could really tell that he's puts so much effort into his paintings because he really tries to put life into it, which I really like. I came in for the first time today to print my boyfriends 32lb ulua, and it was a great experience to watch how it's prepared and how they print the fish. His shop is very nice too. He has a little gallery room where all his masterpieces are, and I think he custom makes koa/mohagany frames! I would recommend Naoki to print anyone's fish. You would get your money's worth!!

Tako Gyotaku, caught and printed by Naoki

Naoki is a great guy and he loves what he does and it shows. He told us that each print has its own story and so with the print that we purchased, we learned of its story. If you ever have a catch that you would like made into a print in order to preserve the "Story" give Naoki a call and make arrangements to bring it in. It'll become a treasure of a lifetime. Take a look at his website and if you ever have a chance to see/meet him in person, do it.

    One of our 3 paintings!
    Jeffrey M.

He's the best. We just received our paintings by Naoki and are thrilled. The entire process of buying these will be a lifetime memory for our family. After seeing his paintings in Roy's restaurant, we had to track him down. It was well worth it. He took time to explain the art form, engage the kids and allow us to watch him start one of his creations. Thank you Naoki for everything!

The talent and aloha of these two icon oozes out when you go and visit their shop on Kapahulu Avenue. I was first introduced to feather lei making when I used to dance hula for Na Lei Hulu I Ka Weiku. When my kumu (dance teacher) asked us to make a lei hulu (feather lei) for a dance performance, I was super dissapointed because I knew it was going to be a LOT of work. But WOW - that was perhaps one of the best things that I have ever done in my history of dancing hula. Since my first feather lei making experience, I have visited Aunty Paulette & Aunty Mary Lou almost every time I go back home to Honolulu. I always learn something new, and both are always willing to share their no'eau (knowledge) with me. I just wish one day I could have a small percentage of their talents. They are not only knowledgeable on making lei hulu, but they know a LOT about Hawaiian history, the protocol for Hawaiian culture, and people who have influenced the development of the Hawaiian culture. The store is a nice and cozy little store. The store offers very reasonable and very unique feathers to make leis. Feathers from the goose, to the rooster, to the peacock, to peasant, etc are all in the store ready for your selection. Prices are very reasonable, and Aunty is always willing to give you a quick tip or hint if you ask. There are several ready-made lei hulu for sale in a display case - made by the aunties and their haumana (students). My favorite thing in the store is the royalty cape made purely of yellow and red feathers. It's one of Aunty Mary Lou's most famous masterpieces! I booked a kid private party (minimum 6 painters) for my child's birthday and would definitely recommend PFYS to have something fun for the guests to do! she offers bigger parties too! my kid is already thinking of the next painting to choose from Gwenaelle's gallery to paint for another future event! on the day of the event, PFYS was on time (actually early and I felt bad but she was really good about it). and the kids were so excited to paint! she provided everything and made it so stress-free for everyone - a big sheet to lay out for the kids (she will provide table if needed), all the different color paints, plates, brushes, easels, canvases, aprons, little towels to wipe the brushes, and her friendly personality and amazing art skills with guided step by step instructions so everyone could have a relaxing time painting right on the beach with an amazing view. it was such a wonderful experience and the kids were so happy with the outcome of their paintings and best of all got to sign it and take it home with them! check them out at https://paintforyoursoul.com ! you won't be disappointed.

Thanks to Jessica and Jules for planning this group activity and organizing us! Before Jessica moves to the mainland, there were a few things that she wanted to do together and one of them was painting. She selected this picture of a waterfall with a flowering tree and butterflies because the other pictures looked "touristy"... haha! The venue (The Beach House) was a local bar in my neighborhood. It was convenient for me since I live and work in Kaneohe. I knew where it was (next to Windward Mall) and that there was free parking...and a restroom with curtains instead of walls to designate separate stalls! Tip: Just lock the door for privacy! Don't let anyone else in with you, ladies! Our instructor, Kate, was awesome! She was so bubbly, informative, and reassuring. I have never painted before and I have always wanted to try. I was afraid of the outcome...lol! This was a super great experience! All of the supplies were provided. Kate and her assistant, Lei, set up and cleaned up for us! We had a blast - and a finished product to remind us of a happy memory. Gosh, Jessica... I'm starting to really miss you already... waaahhh! (Crying a waterfall now...) =( P.S.
