I'm not sure what the issues were today in theater #5, but with only a literal handful of people watching the movie, the theater felt humid. It actually was much cooler outside in the lobby and in the mall than it was inside the theater; at least in #5. Also, during the movie, Mortal Kombat 2 (don't judge lol), there was an issue with one of the speakers. There was a loud "banging" noise that I thought was part of the fight sequence soundtrack, but then the level didn't change, and it interfered with hearing the actors dialog... pretty annoying. It lasted for about 5 minutes, then it finally stopped. With the staffing cutbacks (self ticketing, no greeter or ushers, limited concession staff), I know it must be difficult to manage the bldg, but the uncomfortable conditions and sound issue, it certainly doesn't make it enticing to return. The overall movie was okay, notwithstanding the issue, but it's been better. read more

Ok, so it's not the prettiest theater on island. But you know what? It doesn't need to be. The seats recline, the AC works (maybe too well), and the movies show the same as with any other theater. Staff is friendly and efficient. Food is surprisingly good. And if you aren't in the mood for concession food, there's a gorgeous food court and a variety of restaurants inside the mall. At first, I was gonna rate this an ok 3-star joint, maybe even good. Having read what I just wrote, this place is GREAT. You do you, Regal Windward. read more

I'm off on Mondays, wanted to see A Working Man, and didn't feel like driving into town just to see the movie in a Titan Luxe theater so I walked over to Windward Mall and used self-service to buy my ticket ($13.49 + tax, I'm a senior), buy something to eat/drink: 6pc Chicken Tender & Fries ($15.30 + tax) and a medium Diet Pepsi ($6.99 + tax). So, $37.46 to see a movie with a meal. It would have been more in town. The movie was in theater 5, to the right of the concession area, and it was almost deserted ... perhaps a dozen people watched the movie. I was pleasantly surprised at the chicken tender and fries; they were well cooked and tasty. The 6pc gets you two containers of sauce ... BBQ, for me. The seats recline and there is ample aisle space, even with your seat reclined. That's the good. The bad: There aren't any tables for your food. I had to hold my meal in my lap, trying not to get BBQ sauce on me as I ate. The movie? I don't expect art when watching something with Jason Statham. Like Arnold, Sylvester (who had a role as producer and writer), and Bruce ... you know what you're going to get when you buy your ticket. Action galore, and one has to ignore reality and just enjoy the ride. A Working Man reminds me of Commando (with Arnold) and Taken. read more

Since July 2024 we have unlimited movie tickets and we've been trying out the Regal theaters locations. So far all 3 theaters are very dark inside so you actually need to use your phone flashlight to find your seat row and number. The seats are likewise worn and some more than others. At least the seats do recline. For some reason there was an odor possibly coming from the chair like sweat. If you chill easily you might want to dress in long pants and maybe bring a light jacket. read more

I've been to regal windward quite a lot and it used to be okay but I've just had the worst experience tonight. First of all when I went to check in my ticket at the concessions (nobody was at the check in table) and didn't want to buy anything, the lady helping me and my friends check in was very unfriendly and frankly, rude. On the receipt, it says the cashier's name is Leimomi. She visibly had an annoyed face and instead of speaking kindly or even welcoming, the only thing we got is "Scan." Second, the theater itself, my friends and I were watching the pre-movie ads and the screen was entirely blue. I've attached a picture as an example, all white tones were blue. We went out to ask if there was anything that could be done or if there was any options such as a potential refund or reshowing at a different time (This is what Kailua Cinemas offers when we had this isse before) but all we got is a "Oh yeah, there's just something wrong with the projecter, there's nothing we can do about it." Terrible customer service all around tonight. You'd think you can get even a partial refund on a BLUE screen for a movie ticket that costs $21 after tax. read more

The service is pretty good and the lobby and restrooms are also maintained well. It's easy to find the showroom that your movie is assigned to for the day or evening, but inside it can be dark during the pre-show. You can recline in your seats. read more

According to its website, this is a theatre complex with multiple screens featuring new release films, plush seating & concession stand. The theatre is large and the carpet has a whimsical pattern to maybe hide all the popcorn dropped on it lol. The bathrooms are large and could use a clean up and supply check. 3/3 stars. The food counters were very busy. You need to stand in this line to also purchase your tickets. It would be nice to have a dedicated line for ticket purchases. The theater room itself, is spacious. There was no musky smell in the theater. The plush chairs were dirty with food and very chafed and I cringed to sit on the chairs. My jacket came in handy. The air conditioning worked well! Located inside of the Windward mall shopping center is Regal Theater. We went to see Jo Koy we were all ready for some great comedy show in an air conditioned area watching Jo Koy in action will it wasn't what we expected and there was hardly any laughs in the theater during the whole show. It was pretty disappointing that for a comedy show it lacked the humor. But the mall had a lot of entertainment and if you want to walk off the popcorn and drinks you can take a walk in an all enclosed mall for some shopping or browsing or getting more items to eat or snack on. Sundays they have a framers open market with lots of locally made items beside fresh farmed produce. read more

Hubby, daughter and myself have been here before and the experience is always good. The seats maybe old but the screen still works lol. It's old school like when I was growing up watching movies in the theater but the movie was cute and it's functional. Hubby got the $7 special for a popcorn and drink. The employees apparently didn't know about the offer on Monday's for the $5 movie, but the manager was nice enough to comp hubby's popcorn and drink. I really think the employees should know about their offers because it's online on their app. You can reserve your seats and pay online which is so convenient rather than going to the booth which nowadays they don't have an employee at a booth. Seats were comfortable and recline. I definitely would come back to watch more movies here. read more

This is the closest theater to us, but still a 1 hour drive from our home. We came to watch a movie for my son's birthday and were refused entry by the Manager, Cody and Justin. They were so adamant to adhere to "regal policy" and refused to let us in to a rated R movie with our 6 year old. We asked for a refund and it was only partial, they "couldn't" refund the $10 fee for buying the tickets through their app. So now we have a partial refund and an hour drive right back home (2 hours total wasted and birthday ruined) BUT... get this.. I took a look at Regal's policy, under 6 not permitted.. UNDER 6!! Ages 6-16 allowed in with an adult!! I called The theater right back and they continued to say no the policy is 6 and under, I've worked here for 8 years..blah blah. I told him, "Would you like me to read the policy on your site?" And I did. And this guy goes, "Well, the policy can vary by location". So let's recap, 2 hours driving time wasted, partial refund, birthday ruined, all because the managers at this location don't know their own damn policy! read more

Upon getting home after the last movie, I called the theatre to report my earring was lost in my seat. The worker graciously went to look for it, found it & said they'd hold it. I left on a trip the next day, & when I returned to the theatre 6 days later, Cody the manager said their policy is to toss out lost & found items after 2 days. I asked him to show me the lost & found policy to which he could not produce & after apologizing profusely, he offered me free movie passes. I declined & let him know I'd be yelping this experience & contacting corporate. I reiterated that the earring was spoken for & claimed when the worker found it, & there was no mention that I had only 2 days to pick it up. Disappointing & frustrating to say the least. This theatre is a huge upgrade from the Hilo's location on the big island. Location is convenient. Usually air conditioning is nice and cold. Seats are comfy. Sometimes sounds is loud sometimes too soft. The only downfall is that concessions can take a very long time. Go early! And don't expect a refill on a large soda or you will miss your movie. Popcorn is okay, not flavored well, needs salt (or more butter seasoning they use) and I prefer to dispense my own butter like at other locations. Bathroom could use more attention. Seems like the dance studio uses it often. So it ends up being no soap and paper towels. All in all we are return weekly/biweekly customers and will continue to be one. read more

Love coming to this location for a movie with my daughter. It's always clean and never crowded. It's a drive for us however it's well worth it especially with the great customer service that they provide as well. The staff here are friendly and accommodating and let's face it, regal stays relevant with its innovative use of technology with the regal app and its competitive deals. I love collecting points on my app which allows me to benefit by gaining lots of rewards including free food and beverage at the concession and even free tickets. We only frequent regal locations. Hadn't been to this place for about a year, hoping it had improved. Not so. The cashier was nice enough, but should not have served us the icees knowing that the machine wasn't working properly. We were not given icees. Instead, we were given icee-flavored liquid. So wrong. Should've just ordered sodas. Could've saved $10+. The popcorn still doesn't taste as good as consolidated theaters' and there were so many unpopped kernels (just like before). We were in theater 9. It was kind of smelly, like old food and soda not being cleaned up. This place is so convenient, as it's right down the street and at a mall, but I still believe it's worth the drive to town to go to a consolidated theater. There were several workers just standing around, talking story. Not enough workers to man the ticket booth? I think not. read more

I always come here to watch movies, employees are always so nice and efficient. Popcorn is reasonable and pretty good. The employees never have an issue when I ask for a crazy amount of butter in my popcorn. Only thing is, the seats could use a bit of work, a lot of them are worn out and uncomfortable. Favorite movie theater!!! Located in Windward Mall! Above the pet store, fun factory, and H&T burger. And there is a lot of parking, might have to walk from the back, but can always find a place!! The seats are updated and when you buy the tickets you can choose the seat you and your friends/family/loved ones sit! The seats are so comfortable and recline pretty far back! It is more private, whomever sits behind you can't see through cracks and they are at a higher level (which is great when people get out of their seats because it doesn't disturb anyone during the movie). The workers there are always friendly! They have cheaper prices than ward (I believe). I like the food choices! They have pretzel bites, popcorn, loaded French fries, onion rings, motz sticks, pizza, and icees, ice cream, and a lot more! The food is pricey, but that's how they make their money. Bathrooms are nice and clean! If you're looking for a non crowded, nice comfortable movie theater that won't rip a hole in your wallet, this is the place to go! read more

Now that I can go back to the theater you KNOW I'm here every other week. I've seen 3 movies at this theater since it's closest to my house - No Time to Die, Dune, and Last Night in Soho. Recliner seats! Tickets are a little pricy but that's Hawaii I guess. There have been available seats every time I've gone even when I got there literally 2 minutes before the show started. You do have to show proof of vaccination to get in. They don't have a ton of screens but they show the good, new movies you want to see. read more

One of my family's favorite places to watch movies!!! Located in the Windward Mall, Regal Theater is super easy to find. Just a short 15-20 minute drive from town, our family prefers coming here over other theaters in town as parking is never an issue, crowds are usually minimal, and who wouldnt enjoy the beautiful Koolau mountain views on their way in. Avoiding the ticket lines are super easy as Regal offers ticket purchasing via their mobile app for a minimal fee. We found this to be super convienient as we can usually find tickets well ahead of time, sometimes days in advanced. The theater itself is kept pretty clean and offers the new and improved reclining chairs. Super comfy!!! The only difference ive found is that there is no food tray like a few other theaters offer on their recliner chairs. Not a big deal but just thought Id share. The food here is pretty good for what theaters offer, and the selection and options are pretty wide spread. Dont forget to use a rewards card as points accumulated will later offer deals on future visits. I have no idea when they remodeled but I love the large recliner seats!! I don't know how we watched movies before, like plebs, sitting so close together. I took my niece here to see Frozen II, and there was so much room for her to move around, without disturbing anyone. My friend actually took a nap! The concession area has so many options now. I hadn't eaten lunch so I ordered a burger and fries. It was a lot of food. The burger was quite large, and the fries were thick and substantial. My niece had a snack pack, which was popcorn, a drink, and a fruit gummy pouch. Prices weren't bad at all. Good experience, I would return to watch more movies here! read more

One time it seemed like the theater hadn't been cleaned, it was pretty disgusting and I felt gross sitting there. The other times it's been fine. 2 of the times I've went, during the movies people have been extremely loud and obnoxious, which I guess if nobody says anything it doesn't matter. I'm so happy that this theater has joined the Loyalty Tuesday $6 movie days! They started on 2-14-17! Yay! This theater is located on the Upper Level of Windward Mall. If you're coming to a movie at night, remember where you parked because the Mall closes early on Sundays and you wouldn't want to walk in the dark all around the perimeter to get to your car. (Not that it's happened to me, but I can imagine it.) I usually park near the entrance where Sports Authority used to be. I really like the Rewards Program - points are obtained from a ticket purchase and from the concession stand. If there's a long line to buy tickets, there's a kiosk to the left of the main door. Just swipe your Loyalty Card and Credit Card. Employees are friendly and helpful. Theaters and restrooms are clean and functional. It's a safe environment for some simple entertainment! read more

I had my first visit to this theatre last night as my friends and I decided to watch the most recent addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As I have ever only been to the Regal Dole Cannery location, I wondered if this location compares or if there were any or some similarities to the Consolidated Theatre chain. 1. Yes, there is ample parking! This theatre is located at Windward Mall in the former JC Penney wing/section on the second floor. 2. Yes, the snack bar has a dedicated and organized line. Snack bar menu has the standard candy, popcorn, drinks. Also included are some fried food selections as well. Unfortunately, (unlike Consolidated) there are no popcorn and drink combo items. We did inquire with our cashier, but she informed us that the only combos available are only for discounts on candy. Not so sweet. 3. Yes, there is a rewards program! Make sure to bring your Regal Crown Card to accumulate points. 4. Yes, seating is reserved! And they're reclining seats too! Yay! The seats were comfortable for the most part, but layout/configuration poses similar challenges to that of Pearlridge Consolidated. Namely that if the footrest is completely extended that there is really no room to walk thru the row. 5. No, there are no TRAY TABLES at this theatre. Again, unlike the reclining seat theatres at Consolidated, these theatres are sans a table and only have a cup holder (thank goodness for that at least). This aspect was slightly disappointing, but oh well what could one do? My popcorn sat on my lap for the duration of the movie. 6. Yes, this location is clean and well kept (IMHO). 7. Yes, the staff is friendly and helpful. Special thanks to the girl at the concession counter who was very informative and patient with our group. BOTTOM LINE: A decent first time visit to this Regal location. Though the absence of a tray table was a disappointment, the ample free parking and friendly staff are notable aspects. read more

I love this theater! I lived in town most of my life so i used to go to Ward Theater a lot. Now that i live on the windward side I started going to this theater. This one has reclining seats, love itttt! But the main reason why i liked coming here was because of the prices. Ward would charge $15+ to see a movie. Windward theater charges around $9+ or average $11 and it would never be crowded. Ward would always be crowded with people, sometimes the time in line for the concession was 15 - 20mins. Here, would be 5 - 10mins. Which for me, is a major difference because I dont wanna miss a movie. The only con I would have to say is one, there was a time where the movie i previously watched was supposed to start at 7pm.. The movie itself didnt start until 7:45. This happened to me twice! Where i had to wait soooo long to watch the movie. And two, its not as cold as other theaters. Im not gonna complain a lot about the temperature much because I dont really think its really a concern but that was just a difference i felt i had to write in comapring to other theaters I have been in read more

Recently renovated, this is our go to movie theater located on the second floor of Windward mall. They have so many theater rooms inside with multiple showings at the same time. Super large comfortable reclining king size seats with plenty of space. The theater rooms stays nice and cool too. I also love that you can go online and purchase your tickets in advance as well as choose your assigned seating so there's no worry about not getting a good seat if you show up late. Super convenient! They have a large variety of snacks and drinks for purchase but it's not the cheapest. 4 stars because of crazy expensive concession prices. Come full or be prepared to pay more than you paid for admission lol. read more
