Ordered the chicken gyro and won't order that again. They used chicken breast chopped in large chunks that were tough and dry. The tzatziki didn't help with the dryness because it was more like a seasoned feta paste. Their tzatziki lacked the nice tangy dill favor and was so far from being a sauce. I'd be more dehydrated after eating the chicken gyro f it wasn't for the cucumber, tomato and onion. After all that, I wish I never give tip when prompted at checkout. read more

I like their Big Fat Greek Gyro and the Gyro Plate. I order it when I'm there. Wanted to try something new so I ordered the #3 pasta. Because I wanted to have meat with my pasta, I ordered meatballs because in the picture displayed it is plain. I got home and saw that the meatballs have a tomato paste sauce on them. Why is it that the picture was not corrected or a sign that says "with tomato sauce" isn't displayed? Now both does not pair well together. I'm very disappointed. Came here yesterday for lunch and ordered the lamb gyro with salad. I must say that was the most satisfying lunch I had in a while. Salad was good and the lamb was moist and cooked right. I ordered the Greek Islands Lamb and Beef Gyro that came with "Greek" fries and salad. I tried to order just a traditional lamb gyro and was told that was not an option. The gyro itself was just okay. I feel like adding the beef changed the taste. Could've used more tzatziki sauce and less feta cheese. Not sure what made the fries "Greek". My first and second visits here were great. The owner is the real deal, I've been told by friends. The gyro plate is what I normally order and both times the food was far above average. The plates were hearty, the meat was delicious, salad ingredients fresh and plentiful, the pita warm and homemade it appears. The minor quibble would be the hummus which is a bit lumpy and watery. In general the food was terrific. My third visit...we have a problem. They seemed to have switched places with what used to be a bbq truck but they are still at Home Depot. The service this time was meh, the order taker, an older woman, barely acknowledging me. The food this time? The quality was far from what I had previously experienced. I ordered spanakopita which was a complete disaster. Undercooked fillo dough, barely any spinach, little flavor, a big gummy mess. I should have returned it and asked back my $8.00. The gyro plate was good except for the rice. What was once delicious, Greek-style rice this time was regular rice with mixed, soggy, previously frozen vegetables. I have no idea what they are thinking. There are many choices to eat in Kahului, and this truck used to be at the top of my list. I'll give it one more chance. The beef and lamb gyro was delicious! It comes with a nice salad and the fries are on point! My husband got the gyro plate and enjoyed it. A great stop in before / after a Costco visit since it's near there. It's also a good stop right after arriving in Maui since it's near the airport. Would eat again! read more

I love their big fat Greek gyro plate. It comes with crispy fries and a huge gyro stuffed with fresh veggies. They have been consistently good since we started going about two years ago. The parking lot is a pain but it's well worth the inconvenience. The Dolmas are tasty and come with a little salad so if you're looking for something light I'd highly recommend those as well. read more

Starving after a trans pacific flight, with requisite Costco stop to get supplies for the week, we stumbled upon the food truck lot, and thought it would be better to eat before going into Costco hungry. Gyros sounded good So we ordered the gyro plate and falafel plate. The gyro meat and humus were OK, but the falafel was absolutely inedible. The Falafel plate was loaded up with fresh and delicious food, fun variety. It was so hard to choose, because everything looked so good. The falafel were flavorful, the dolmas were delish, loved having the tzatziki and hummus and tahini dressing. Delicious rice pilaf, Crisp Greek salad and a fluffy warm pita to top it off. Spanakopita was very tasty, although I would have preferred a little more spinach in them. Falafel, not too garlicky, perfectly crispy and I liked that they were on the smaller size -- two bites -- dipped in the tzatziki sauce and tahini really nice bite. My daughter had the gyro platter -- tender, perfectly seasoned lamb and beef mixture was some of the best gyro meat I've ever had. Was super hungry after a long day and ordered the chicken surfer gyro plate with baba ganoush, salad, fries, pita with a beef lamb gyro & plans to share all with hubby. The important GREEK items in this meal were EXTREMELY dry and overcooked which were the chicken and beef/lamb. The pita, fries & salad which had no dressing were fresh and good. The tadziki sauce was supposed to be used I'm assuming on the over dried chicken but there wasn't enough if it to keep me from choking this cardboard meat down. Oh the baba ganoush was non existent and was instead switched out for a very bland hummus. I am so sick of poor excuses for ethic food in Maui. We were hanging in the Kahului area on a Sunday and quickly realized most restaurants (at least the ones on our list) were closed. Refusing have accept a Panda Express be my last meal on the island before flying out, we found Gyro King. The food was 'meh'. I ordered the shrimp gyro and expected exactly that, as there was a picture of it on the menu board. When I placed my order, she asked if I wanted fries. I asked if there was any other side options and she said I could get the plate which includes a salad. When I got the food, it was appropriate in temp and tasted ok. However it was not a gyro. There was a single round pita, however she had cut it into quarters. So I had 4 small triangles of pita. All the shrimp was separate. So it was impossible to eat even 1 shrimp with the pita. Plus the shrimp all had tails, so even if I was able to hold onto the triangle and shrimp together, you would end up with a crunchy tail in your mouth. 2 stars for the sheer silliness for no providing the picture on the menu. read more

I ordered online twice and the first time I got notified when to pick up my order and went to pick it up and instead of giving me my food they yelled at me saying I'm late In picking up my order. I was there in 5 minutes from when they texted me.. they kept telling me the customer is going to be very upset the food is cold now! spanakopita is nothing like what they have pictured on the menu. its 5 soggy small triangles on a large salad and is not authentic at all. so much for "authentic greek food". the little triangles I recieved can be bought at Safeway in the freezer section with 12 in the box for 5 dollars. I'm a local and have tried many restaurants and food trucks. This is by far the best I've had. Good Greek food is rare to find and amazing Greek food is even harder. I had a Greek Island(beef and lamb gyro, fries and a salad) and their super refreshing lemonade. The gyro was hot and the tzatziki sauce was to die for. The Greek fries where super crispy and had the perfect crunch. The salad was super fresh and Had great toppings and dressing. The girls who work there are incredibly nice and the Greek chef is super talented! It was so good I brought my whole family back. read more
