I have to give it up for these folks. It's always good no matter what, but I came in like 10 minutes before close tonight, I hadn't eaten all day, and they were totally cool about it, hooked me up, sandwich is amazing, I've eaten about half the meat with a fork just so I can roll it back up and eat the sandwich. Gyro Star is located in the same plaza as Food Lion, specifically located next door to China King with plenty of parking. Since our hotel was very close by this restaurant, we ended up ordering food to go from here twice, 2 days in a row. I will just share our experience with the last order we made, which was: Gyro Plate, $8.99 prior to tax- This entree came with a small side salad, pita bread and rice. There was a good portion of meat as well. This entree really is perfect for two or leftovers for a 2nd meal. The meat was tender and perfectly seasoned. The rice was tasty and the pita bread was warm. Excellent price for the amount. Falafel Salad, $9.99 prior to tax- I opted for a falafel salad and had requested that dressing to be on the side. I was surprised to find such large pieces of falafel. It was tasty and had great texture. Very filling and perfect to share or leftovers for another meal. ------------------------- (Total= $20.74 after tax) After we made our to go order over the phone, we were told it would be ready in 15 minutes. When we arrived, we had to wait in line to pay at the register. Our food was ready though so that was nice that we didn't have to wait additionally after paying. Although this place does have seating, it seems like most patrons were just coming in to pick up and pay for their to go orders like us. Reasonably priced food but you're mostly paying for sides. Everything is cooked and set up right in front of you. Quick service. Quality of food is a solid 3 out of 5, in my opinion: - Chicken is a little on the dry side, so if you're ordering the meat - go with gyro meat. - Plates are tricky - they have a ton of rice and just some meat on very top. - they cut burritos in half and "fold" them so be prepared for a little messy food if taking out. They said it is homemade but I sorta doubt it. Huge quantity of food on most things. Passing through town and it was a decent enough place to stop but the bathroom was pretty nasty. Stopped in on a whim as we love Greek/Mediterranean food. This place is your typical gyro joint with other various proteins and a whole lot more! Plenty to find here to eat even if you bring the picky one in the group. We opted for the gyro platter and boy do you get a ton of food! The portion sizes are huge. Not complaining, just stating a fact. Go hungry (and you'll still carry some home)! I liken this place as something you'd expect in a mall food court (think the massive portions of food you get at Chinese food spots). This last weekend we did another takeout order to support local small business owners during quarantine and this one did not disappoint! Our usual Gyro spot is at the Nashville Farmers market where we go roam around, buy some stuff we don't need, get some Greek food, and then ice cream to go but now we are doing our best to stay out of public places! This can be so hard when you have a craving you can't fill!! So we got on Yelp and searched for Greek in our area and found Gyro Star. Based on some of the other reviews it looked like a positive option so we placed our order. We had driven by it several times but just never tried it which usually happens to little food spots. We are so glad we tried it!! Both of us got Gyro plates with rice & lamb. It was so good. The rice had good flavor and the meat was spiced perfectly and very tender. Even ordering out it arrived hot! We can't wait to order again and try something new. During this time don't forget about the small business owners, those small places that may be struggling with less business. Wow wow wow! Saw this place when I stopped off the interstate on my way home to get a couple things from Food Lion next door. Got curious so I checked Yelp reviews, and they are not wrong! Bypassed the grocery and walked in to check out the menu. I ordered the Gyro Plate with tabouli salad, an order of hummus, an order of falafel, and and a piece of baklava (don't judge me, I was starving and wanted to try everything!) Y'all. The portions of rice and meat are HUGE. The rice is perfect and the meat is so tender and flavorful and fresh. It's almost bottomless! Hummus is standard and good, with the right amount of spice and plenty of warm pita. The falafel is flavorful and comes with extra tzaziki if you request it, and both are a good portion size for the price. Baklava is tasty, although I couldn't finish it... I'm full! Guys behind the counter were super friendly and talkative, they worked fast, and I was in and out quickly. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this is the best gyro place I've found in the Nashville area. I'll definitely drive a bit out of my way for this place, I hope they stay busy! read more

The gyro is pretty standard on a bed of yellow rice and salad. Four good slices of pita for your dipping and picking pleasure. The wings are special. Jumbo, battered wings? Yes sir, sign me uuuppp. Also their hottest sauce is actually spicy. I placed an order with them through Uber eats at 7:38pm and was notified by the app that my order should arrive by 8:45pm at the latest. I got a text at 8:36pm stating that my order is out for delivery, but it never showed up. At 9:59 PM I received another text saying that my order was outside of my door, but in fact it was not. I called the restaurant 22 times and they ended up blocking me all because I wanted to know what happened to my order. At that point, the delivery driver had called and said that he had made sure that he dropped off my order at the correct location when he did not. I sent the restaurant a picture of my front porch with nothing on it I got no response. I had to jump through hoops just to get a refund. read more
