We always drive by this place and thought we'd give it a try on a day where we wanted Mediterranean food. Finally had the opportunity to and we're not going anywhere else for now. The place is clean and you dine inside or outside patio (during warm season). The price is very reasonable and they give you a good portion. For myself, I usually cannot finish the platter or the salad in 1 sitting. Salad and platter are similar - except platter you will get a little bit of rice, potato and salad and salad is of course no rice or potato. I like their spicy sauce vs the white sauce. But both sauce are good! Husband always gets the meat lover gyro and he loves it. Falafel- crispy and not too oily. Perfect dip with white sauce. But I do love it more with spicy sauce. Fries- also crispy and good. Service is always great. Workers are always smiling. It's a nice environment to be in. I ordered online for takeout. I wanted to go in to pick up my order & kind of check the place out. The line was long and the cashier was pretty busy so I looked around then drove around to the drive up pick up window, which was still somewhat slow moving at the time I went. The dining room here was nice & clean when I looked around, if you decide to dine in. I ordered spicy chicken gyro & fries. This was my 2nd gyro, ever. So I don't have a lot of examples to compare this to. This is also my first time that I ordered the beef and lamb. So please take that into account for my review! I went into Gyropolis for lunch. It's a cute place that looks like it had a recent remodel. They have you order at the counter and they put your order together right in front of you. You pay then can enjoy your food! The line moved pretty quickly. Customer service was welcoming and warm, especially dealing with someone that didn't know how to order! I ordered what seemed basic for me, the gyropolis. You can choose between pork, chicken, or beef and lamb. I was feeling adventurous and went with the beef and lamb. To be honest, I couldn't tell between the beef and the lamb. It was fine. The gyropolis is just the pita, meat, onion, tomato, and tzatziki sauce. To me, what put it all together was the tzatziki sauce. I'll try a gyro again, but next time I think I'll try one with more than just tomato and onion. read more

I've been to Gyropolis a couple of times when I'm in the Bloomington area. If you are craving a good gyro and you are tight on time - I'd call this the best spot. They can really crank out tasty food in a hurry! The staff is helpful and fast. The style is similar to your typical sandwich shop where you walk through the line and they prepare it in front of you with your choice of toppings. To be blunt - the spicy is... not so spicy. Minnesota spice, I guess (this hurts as a Minnesotan who loves heat)? Don't get me wrong - it tastes great and I loved it. But the sauce doesn't pack a kick so much as it does some good flavor. I told them I wanted a little extra fire this time and they LOADED me up with jalapeños... unfortunately, said jalapeños were pickled. Overall, great fast gyro sandwich. Only other thing I'd add is I got the seasoned fries as a side... I'd skip them next time. I like crispy / thinner / more well done fries. These were pretty thick cut and a little... limp? This was my second time here because my first experience was outstanding perfectly prepared and delicious spicy gyro. This time was different. They added green peppers but no tomatoes. The meat was piled high and delicious, but the tzatziki sauce was milder than I remembered, and didn't seem to have cucumber and fresh lemon juice in it that makes it fresh tasting. Tried it again...(because the seasoning on the fries is good) Was asked what I wanted to order before I got to the counter, with 2 people in front of me that I was yelling my order thru & there were also 5 other customers in front of them waiting to pay! I don't want my sandwich made then sit there getting cold! I also lost sight of my gyro behind their counter which I then wonder if I'm going to get home with the correct gyro!! also, i asked for a tiny bit extra of the sauce and one of the 5 Mexican workers just nodded and mumbled and wrapped the sandwich in foil. I told the owner who was running the cash register I asked or extra sauce and he said, "That'll be $1.20"... I told him to forget it. Paid $16 for a sandwich and a bushel of 2-inch FFries that half the bag was little chips of potato crisps being smaller and overcooked because of the size. The meat was cut off a spit over an hour before i got there and the fatty content in the meat wasn't "hot & juicy" as I want it. I can get a heated-up gyro for 1/2 the price from Arby's. Their father would be so upset with these 2 sons for serving the mundane gyro that is served by a mexican crew who don't understand english & are more concerned with serving the food in "Record Time" than quality AND listening to requests from the customer as they create the sandwich. The pettiness of this owner to need to ask me for $1.20 for sauce is very irritating to me because he just built this HUGE building for a sandwich shop and $16.50 isn't enough money from me for him...He wants $17.70. read more

I remember years ago coming here for lunch visiting from Florida. Visiting from my new home in California with my family it was a real treat to come back. The place has begun extensive enlargement on both ends of the restaurant so it was a little noisy. The service was quick and friendly. The gyropolis (beef and lamb gyro) was amazing with the warm, thinly sliced meat, fresh vegetables, taziki sauce, and warm doughy pita. My wife really enjoyed her chicken gyro plate. We got 2 chocolate chip cookies for dessert that were quickly devoured. The place will be closed soon for approximately 3 months to complete the renovations so be sure to get your Mediterranean fill soon. read more
