My co-worker wanted to grab lunch and she was craving Gyropolis so I went with. I've visited this location before a few times to dine in and each time was a pleasant experience. I usually end up getting the Philly but switched it up to the spicy gyro this time and was not disappointed. There was some great heat that was in the sauce but it didn't overpower the rest of the flavors. They never short you on your meat and I always feel full after eating here. They have a lot of other food options including desserts to choose from. Everything seems reasonably priced. It can get pretty busy in there but the staff does a great job keeping everything moving and are friendly. It is pretty small inside so if you're looking to sit down you may have to wait. I've driven by the Richfield location a few times and finally decided I needed to stop in and check it out. I've only tried a few gyros, but the meat lovers gyro was absolutely delicious! I'm not sure if all gyros on the menu come with lettuce and tomatoes but I made sure to add it to mine to balance out all the pepperoni, bacon and lamb. So delicious! I also ordered a side of season fries and seasoned potatoes. I do wish indoor seating was available as it was raining outside but with covid precautions I understand. We took the food to go. During these times, you can actually order on their website and they'll bring the food out to your car- super easy! I got the gyro salad which is huge and even comes with pita bread. I heard how this place usually has a line out the door and had to try it. The menu is filled with delicious options to try. I ended up settling on the Athenian because it has French fries in it. I really wanted some French fries but not a while order lol. The shaved meat was tasty and fresh along with the crisp vegetables. I chose to eliminate the tomatoes and mustard for mine but kept the rest and added spinach. So tasty especially with the sauce. Next time I would definitely get some hummus to dip my pita bread. This is my favorite place for gyros and gyro meat. Wow, is it not only flavorful but also healthy AND tasty. I have personally had the Greek Salad and Spicy Gyro here. Both are amazing. The salads are served with a warm pita bread cut into 4 slices on the side. From the looks of it, all look delicious but I've only personally tried the Greek Salad. I highly recommend trying it, as it was flavorful and filling due to the decent portion size. Also, the Spicy Gyro is one I've had every single time I visit (unless I get the Greek Salad) - it is my favorite and hard to stray from to try other gyros. I love this locally owned business - its great food. I've been eating here since they opened years ago. I see the owners working behind the counter on a regular basis. I make my own gyro with cucumbers, tomatoes and spicy sauce. Minnesotans beware! The spicy Tzatziki is actually pretty spicy - not Minnesota spicy. The greek rice is great, they season their fries, and the baklava is a treat I get almost every time. If you're not a gyro or lamb & beef person, they have alternatives - chicken or pork, and salads. They used to make pizzas out of the pita bread too, but I don't see that on the menu any longer. read more

They offer a variety of specialty gyros that are all $8, but the two that always tickle my fancy are the Athenian and the Meat Lover's. This most recent visit, I opted for the Athenian. It has fries, Onions, Tomatoes, Mustard, Parsley, Paprika & Tzatziki Sauce on there. I opt for the spicy Tzatziki sauce myself. The quality of the gyro is amazing. It's not one of the HUGE gut busters that you'll get at The Loon, but it offers you the perfect amount of food for a lunch without any sides (and I'm 6'3, 200 lbs for reference). Amidst COVID-19, they've been doing things to perfection. In my opinon, I'd much rather have a spot err on the safe of caution rather than tightrope the proverbial COVID line. You must order online and pay online via credit card. They will then bring the food out to your car, or apparently if you are traveling via foot, will bring it out to you. They do everything in their power to protect both the consumer and their staff alike. I live just outside of downtown Minneapolis, so I don't venture to Bloomington too often. Complete satisfaction for a Greek/Mediterranean fix. My partner and I were scrounging for a quick late afternoon lunch between events this past weekend and we stumbled on Gyropolis. Since we were in transit, we called in the order for take away. By the time we arrived, the order was hot and ready to go. I ordered a Gyroworks Gyro (essentially a traditional Gyro) and a Greek salad because I was feeling vegetable deprived. The Greek Salad was delicious with plenty of crisp onions, lettuce, cucumbers, feta, and olives. With the dressing on the side, I was able to have just the right amount. The only sour note was the pepperocini which seemed a bit stale. The Gyro had plenty of sliced spiced beef/lamb and a judicious complement of feta, onions, lettuce, tomatoes and tzatziki sauce wrapped in a soft warm pita. Makes me hungry all over again, just writing this. My partner ordered and thoroughly enjoyed the Gyro Salad which was essentially the Greek Salad with a full complement of sliced, spiced beef/lamb and again tzatziki sauce. It has been our experience that tzatziki sauce is rarely made by hand and rarely made well, many times tasting like glue. The tzatziki sauce at Gyropolis was definitely homemade and delicious. Do not be afraid to pour it on. It works very well with the flavors of the Gyro and the salad. We splurged and accompanied our meal with sides of Roasted Eggplant (also known as baba ganoush) and Spanikopitas, both of which were first rate. Baba ganoush is essentially mashed fire roasted eggplant with garlic, tahini, olive oil and sometime some lemon. It is pretty easy to make and make well and everyone has a different spin on exact ingredients. The Gyropolis version was very tasty and flavorful and we quickly finished it off. The Spanikopitas (spinach wrapped in puff pastry) was delicious as well, not too oily, and with robust spinach filling and a tasty fluffy pastry wrapper. While the building is not much to look at, the service and the food were great. It really hit the spot. Highly recommended when you are in the mood for Greek or Mediterranean cuisine. read more

This place is one of my all time favorites. We're lucky enough to live and work nearby, and my boss introduced me to it just after I moved here. I would put their fries up against anyone's. The gyros are great and I love their falafel, hummus, etc. the only down side is their hours, which got worse since the pandemic. Very small building with parking lot in poor condition. Inside was not clean. Seating was limited & tight or close to others. Due to high ratings, we tried it anyway. Service was fast. The Gyropolis was good and hit the spot, I also got the Roasted Potatoes to go along with it which were good. Greek Grill & Fry Co is my standard for a good Gyro they set the bar high. I would say this is similar but that gas station Greek Grill Gyro just hits harder that's why I'm not giving this a 4 star. I drove from Mahtomedi because of all the 5star reviews. Arrived at 11:30 and there were only a couple people in line. Place was bigger than I thought and they had a good amount of tables inside and a few outside. The reviews made it sound like it's a super tiny place with nowhere to sit, which is not the case. Ordered the gyro works ($11)(extra $4.60 if you want fries and a drink) It was a good gyro, could've had a little more meat for the price. Tzatziki sauce tasted like plain sour cream. I was blown away with how many people said it's the #1 gyro in the twin cities. This is a decent gyro and I would stop again if I was in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

Quick and easy! Great place to check out if you are ever in Bloomington. They pack the gyros super full and the beef/lamb tastes so good. The prices are about $7-8 per gyro.
