We had such a bad experience with exceptionally rude receptionists and "upselling" at larger companies (ServPro) just trying to get an estimate for mold and water damage, so it was refreshing to work with Ansony. We noticed mold and water damage in a corner of our home and Ansony was able to come out to give an estimate shortly after we called. After a few weeks of us dealing with insurance, we noticed some additional damage elsewhere in the home. We reached back out to Damage Squad once we had things squared away with insurance to have them check out the additional damage and they came the next day to reevaluate and update their estimate. The changes were very reasonable--Ansony understood our budget and made it very clear what was necessary to address (i.e., mold) versus what could wait (i.e, more cosmetic things). So we signed the contract that day. Damage Squad came the next morning. Incredible. It's hard to find someone you feel like you can trust for home improvement, but Ansony clearly knows what he's doing and I never felt like he was trying to "upsell" or overcharge us. I felt like he genuinely made decisions and recommendations as if our home was his home, and he and his team treated it as such. I usually only go for providers with many reviews, but my gut said go with Ansony, and I'm so glad we did. Would 110% recommend Damage Squad.

Due to the fact they sprayed some type of foam to help prevent mold covering the areas where the mold was, it was hard to see if the mold had actually been removed. The structure is "old", 12-inch reveal, ALUMINUM, cedar-shake looking siding. There are also wood porches, baluster railings, brick chimneys, and many windows. The work took the better part of a day. Andres cleaned everything extremely well with a warm water cleaning solution, and a mix of low and high pressure rinses. Washing was done with his water supply. This was good for us since we are on a well. Windows were mopped and squeegee'd. Lower windows were wiped with microfiber cloth. Porch roofs and floors were also cleaned, and a small patio and the sidewalks too--really everything around the house was done! Mildew was gone from shady places and the porches are again paint-ready. It's been several weeks and there are no--zero--casualties among flowers, herbs, plants or grasses that were drenched in the process. Andres was courteous, worked all the time, and answered questions readily. He did not rush the job. His washing equipment and vehicle appeared well-maintained with no problems during the job. Supplies and consumable cleaning tools looked new; certainly not worn-out, frayed or dirty. We were given a written proposal, and no deposit was needed. Calls were returned. The pricing was very reasonable and the cleaners arrived on time and were courteous. However, the service we received was not to my satisfaction. While the carpets certainly did LOOK better, the smell of cat urine was WORSE. A cursory internet search will tell you NOT to use steam cleaners on cat pee, because the heat from the steam actually causes the proteins in the urine to bind permanently to the synthetic carpet fibers. Shame on us for not doing that research prior to contacting Baltimore Steam Cleaners... But you would think professional carpet cleaners, who advertise "Pet Solutions," would know better. Unfortunately, our only option at this point is to rip up the carpets. Also, they said they would take care of moving the furniture, but less than half of the furniture was actually moved. I told them that I had a job interview and then would be seeing clients from home and could not be interrupted during specific hours, and they promised they'd arrive beforehand. They were over two hours late and interrupted my meetings. After the "cleaners" left, I noticed that several areas had been missed, including basics like trash not being emptied and my tub and shower were not cleaned at all. I was able to catch a few of these areas before they left and they did clean them, but there were several more to the extent that I needed to clean after they left, defeating the point of hiring cleaners. They also charged me more than originally quoted. When I texted the person I originally met and scheduled with (who was not there), he apologized and said he had been made aware of the issues and would make it next Friday to clean before my birthday party. The next Friday, he texted me after he was due to arrive saying he was overbooked and asked if he could come the next day. I told him he could not and never heard back from him. Nervous he wouldn't come at all, I then said he could come early the next morning. I never heard from him and had to skip my birthday brunch to clean my house for the party later that day. Long story short: extremely unprofessional, unreliable, and dishonest. DO NOT HIRE! What kind of company admits that they ripped you off then does nothing to fix it? UPDATE: the owner contacted me to threaten me for posting reviews. Still no apology; just a threat. And to be fair, he did refund half of the cost of the poorly done cleaning after I posted the review as well.
