Was in Salem for the Ford dealership and recall someone talking about this donut place so I decided to give it a shot. This bakery came highly recommended by family and friends. They do have an amazing display of donuts, which are very delicious. I've enjoyed their peppermint Mocha and their white chocolate raspberry mocha. The staff is very friendly and seems to know what they are doing with coffee. I was able to use their wifi, table and chairs to set up a makeshift office for a couple of days. They were very kind about it. I love coming here more and more. Long John's are delicious, cakes are extra moist and flavorful with the pure white cake being my personal favorite. Cupcakes, cookies or brownies are very tasty!!! We've been a big fan of H&R for few years and we love their doughnuts! I especially love their new space just right next to the original spot. It's spacious, lots of tables and nice furnitures! The kids really love the model train that goes 1round when you put a quarter in the small machine. The only thing is that they don't have loose leaf tea for tea options and to re-steep the leaves. A dozen donut holes was .25. Now its 4 times that. But the new car I kitty is a big improvement over the small shop that existed for years. Great little small-town bakery right down the street from the Washington County Courthouse. I was in town for work, and had some time to kill, and stumbled across this tiny bakery. For a small town, this place sure was bustling at 8a.m.! I tried one of the cream-filled chocolate iced donuts for 80 cents. It was delicious and clearly homemade. The iced latte I opted for, on the other hand, was bitter, tasted as though the espresso was approximately 6 years old, and I could barely choke down half of it. The regulars who stopped in after me all ordered regular coffees - perhaps that is the way to go. Even though my order was only $3.00, they were kind enough to accept my credit card as payment. Would highly recommend donuts, and the other treats in the dessert cases looked delicious (and were super-affordably priced) as well. This place is a gem in our community. The glazed donuts went through a change several years ago. They used to be dark in color with so much more icing. Those donuts were, by far, the best anywhere. I think they changed their oil. However, their donuts are still the best anywhere. So fresh and tasty. My favorite is the apple fritter. My goodness, those are the best I've ever had.
