I have had nothing but negative experiences working with Parvaneh Naghash. Two days beyond the filing deadline and I still cannot get in to the H&R site to review my return, since I first discovered that Parvaneh sneakily added a $40 "Peace of Mind" fee that I did not authorize, after arguing with me about false tax filing information, and berating me on the phone. Working with her has been awful and I wish someone else would help me file my return already. read more

This review only reflects my experience with one particular employee named Felix. I scheduled an appointment weeks ahead and they kept calling me over and over to make sure that I will show up exactly on time. They called me 3 times and confirmed the appointment , texted 3 times and emailed twice and I confirmed all. Then guess what? I was there at 9 am, even the door was not open! I get it, it was too early and I was the first customer. They opened 2 minutes late, not a big deal. Felix did not even bother to show up! Maybe you guys need to confirm the appointments with your employees first not the customer. I waited 15 minutes and obviously no one knew where he was so I just left and took my business somewhere else . This problem reflects lack of management . There was only the front desk lady trying to do something , not a manager nor anyone who looked like they must be in charge. Will not come back and strongly will recommend every one to stay away . read more

Don't ever go to Tim! It seems like all he wanted was the fees to do your taxes did nothing to help reduce the taxes including not asking any questions to help reduce the taxes. Asked him on several times about stuff that he told me and all of a sudden he never said that. I'm totally happy and satisfied with my H&R Block service! I've been a customer for many years and can always expect expert and professional service. My tax expert "Sue" Sumathini Subramaniam is very thorough, detail oriented and always offers personalized services/advice based on my current tax assessments. I never feel rushed or hurried and tax problems and questions answered like a true Master Tax Advisor. I highly recommend Sue and the other tax professionals at this location. Okay, that's the good...now the bad. Based on my most recent visit the place was a mess. Sticky film (most likely spilled liquid goo) on the waiting tables. Trash on the floor. I'd like to see a waste basket in each cubicle. As far as the cubicles, I wonder what if someone handicap (wheelchair bound) needed tax help - how could that be done? Physically it would be impossible. This place isn't exactly handicap accessible. Overall, the cost is reasonable and the convenience is supreme however they need to hire a cleaning service fast. You want your professionals operating in a legit clean professional environment - no exceptions. read more

The ignorant lady at the front desk wanted to argue with me when I called to make an appointment about a problem I was having getting my refund. I show up at the appointment and Sara begins my appointment by aggressively talking to me, saying "you were told that" and then stated that I was there for a reason that was completely incorrect (because the ignorant lady handling the phones got the message wrong). Perhaps if the ignorant lady at the front desk would not try to be a gatekeeper and just do her job, she would have relayed the correct message. Regardless, Sara needs to tone down her aggressiveness. I remained calm and explained what the actual issue was, and Sara and I ended up having a productive conversation. Will I ever use this branch again though? Of course not. If you want to pay to be talked to aggressively and rude, go for it. read more

The associate drastically underestimated my cost and would not honor their initial quote. I usually go to my CPA, but this year I wanted to try h&r block for a more do it yourself approach. When I first sat down I asked the associate for a estimate of the cost. She says about $125. My CPA charges me $75. Since it was only a $50 difference and I was already at h&r I thought oh well lets just get my taxes done. After we finish she tells me the total is $227! I asked what happened to $125 and she says "oh, I guess it's more". My taxes are not complicated. They should see w-2s all day long making it easy and predictable to give an estimated cost. After she tells me the cost I had to escalate to a manager to ask how/why I was misquoted and if they will honor their original price. Of course they declined and said it won't happen next year. Well it definitely will not happen next year since I WILL NOT GO BACK TO H&R BLOCK. Then they told me "if you bring in your last years tax returns, we will look them over for free to see if your CPA missed anything". They said this as if they are making up for overcharging me. I have come here every year since I purchased my house (prior to that I filed using their online software). Their office is always helpful, friendly and keeps to their appt times which I love since my time is valuable to me. I love how their office is open year round and just in case the IRS wants to be nosy they are there to support you and will let you know that also. I highly recommend this office to anyone, I am not sure about prices but I believe in paying for service so even if they are a bit higher it's worth it to me. read more

My review is for the H and R Block services outside of the normal tax preparation season at this office. I have always been satisfied with the services of other offices in season. After going to another H and R Block location to file amended returns and forms for the recovery of overpayment of payroll taxes, I received back a collection of letters from the IRS saying that things had not been calculated correctly. My taxes are extremely complicated, so this was not at all a surprise. I made an appointment at the Walnut Hills office and after sitting with the tax adviser for more than an hour and a half and explaining NUMEROUS times that I did not know how their other tax adviser had arrived at the calculations she had, I left all of my paperwork with them and went home to collect the additional information they requested. Despite emailing this information to them the same day, I called them the following week (they're only open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and was told that they "never got the email." I reforwarded it to them with yet more information from the IRS, and waited to hear about the status of this paperwork. And waited. And waited. And waited. And called, and waited some more. Long story short, it's been SEVEN WEEKS since my initial appointment and I still do not have any idea of when this is going to get done. Meanwhile, the IRS owes me some 3K and I am waiting for the H and R Block "tax pro" to do something she told me would take 30 minutes. If they don't have the manpower or the knowhow to fix their own colleages' mistakes, they should simply say so. It's a totally unacceptable lack of communication on their part, and I am DONE with dealing with this office. If they can't take care of it today, I will be picking up everything and making an appointment at another office where I will hopefully be able to get the services I need. read more

Do not get your taxes done here. Awful service. We are in the process of filing a complaint against one of the employees. She was quite rude and unprofessional and screaming at us. She definitely needs to improve her English as well if she needs to use it for communication with clients. We have been doing are taxes for years there and have never encountered such an awful experience. I'll keep you posted with her name so that you don't use her to do your taxes. read more
