Came here around May 2013 to get some tax advice, and perhaps have my taxes done since I filed for an extension. While I waited in the small seating area, the receptionist who was helping the next person in line, was interrupted by a phone call on her personal cell phone. Making the customer wait, she started to have a conversation with her friend for a few minutes and hung up her phone. Then, shortly afterward, her front desk phone rings and she started to argue with the person on the phone yelling, "you're not paying attention to my directions!" I wasn't having a great first impression of this place as she was very unprofessional, and I almost started to leave until Beverly walked over to see me. The only positive highlight of this place was that Beverly was very sweet and helpful, so take that for what it's worth. read more

I love this H&R Block and location. The receptionist were extremely friendly and the tax professionals definitely know what they're doing. I've had my taxes done here every single year since 2008. One amazing thing is that the receptionist and the tax professionals remember me year after year. I am moving soon and am so nervous about tax season. I've used this company to complete my taxes for almost 20 years and have never had issues until this year. On Fort Hood the office is closed unless appointments are scheduled during the off season. I made an appointment and when I arrived (10 minutes early) I see a woman standing in the hallway talking in the cellphone in an erratic manner. I see the lights are off in the office so I stand there for a minute and she asks "are you my 2 o'clock" I confirm her name and yes I was. Well, apparently she works at the Ft. Hood street location and covers down on appointments on base like today. She proceeds to tell me that she didn't have the key to the office and it's her first time working for H&R Block and things are different than what she is familiar with. She offers to take my information and complete my taxes at the other location and I can approve everything online. I was very reluctant to do this but I really wanted to get this done and agreed. She went on to talk about her husbands prior stint in the military as an officer and how she understands how important being timely is and the concept of check and verify. From that day to a few days after there was a constant back and fort getting in contact with her to check the status of my online approval. Initially she did something incorrect which forced me to disapprove the refund. I called her and as with previous interactions she reverted to "I just started working here and never done an online approval let me as my supervisor." She fixed the issue I was able to approve my refund online. Immediately after I had to travel out of country with no access to check the status but when I returned a few weeks later I checked irs online and there was no record of my taxes being files. I called (now at a month later) the Ft. Hood location with hopes to speak with someone else about the issues but guess who answers the phone? SHE DID!!!! Again she sounded out of breath, erratic like our initial meeting. I told her my issue and she talked like she had no idea who I was and that she was so busy with a client and would call me back. I recognized her voice and made it known that she is the person who completed my taxes. A couple hours later she called back and couldn't figure out the issue..... one gain she said "hold on let me check with my supervisor this was my first online approval." She returns to the phone and apologized for it being her fault that she did not completely process my return and did not submit it to the IRS at all. I was beyond pissed. I hung up the phone and immediately received the IRS receipt text about my taxes. I would like to blast her name on this Yelp review but that is inappropriate and not the correct forum to do so. My advice is, if using this location, as for a tax professional who has more than a couple months working at H&R Block and not one who continues to make excuses of how she worked for another company who does things different when she screws things up. Just take responsibility and go work for the other company again. Thank goodness I'm not a customer who needed my tax returns immediately because she had no in the world. Who doesn't follow up to ensure customers taxes have been processed appropriately. Horrible!!! Wish I could leave ZERO stars because of her. read more

Our entire experience starting when we arrived was very bad! 1.) We made an appointment for a specific time and person. We arrived 15 minutes early for our scheduled appointment, the tax lady we were supposed to work with, instead choose to work with a walk-in customer, without even consulting with us. This resulted in our scheduled appointment being delayed by 30 minutes, while we waited for another tax person to show up. 2.) While we were still sitting with our new tax preparer, we were going through our copy of our taxes, and found that the tax preparer entered the incorrect automatic-deposit account numbers for our tax return. We immediately informed our tax preparer of the mistake. Rather than him offering to fix the problem while we were still in the office, instead he said, " I'm so sorry about that, but there is nothing I can do, to fix this." Rather than cause a scene, we decided to instead call the office at a later time to have someone else correct the mistake. 3.) We later called the office and informed them of the numbers mistake, and asked if they could help us. In response, we were told, "If you come into the office, you will be waiting 3 to 4 hours to be helped. But, your more than welcome to come in and wait!" "Instead of you coming into the office, I will give you the number to the IRS, and you can call and wait in the comfort of your home." We called the number which was given to us, which turned out to be the incorrect phone number. It was an automated phone number, without the option to talk to a live person, or make any corrections. We promptly called the office to inform them of the incorrect phone number. In response, we were told, "Oh, sorry, we can't help you then. Your just going to have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for your check to arrive in the mail. You should have purchased HR Block tax insurance, that way we could have helped you right away, here at the office." Our entire experience was horrible, and a scam for the tax preparers to get more money from us! When we refused to pay "extra" for insurance, our tax preparer purposely messed up the numbers for our automatic-deposit of our tax return! We paid $200+ to have our taxes done at the Fort Hood H&R Block office. We now wish that we would have listened to all the honest negative reviews from former customers! read more
