I had called the office as I was having problems accessing my previous tax returns and was transferred to a tax " professional" Dian Court, She was rude and barely explained and just hung up the phone. Do not go here. The people at the front desk are extremely polite and easy to work with but the people that actually do your taxes are awful. I made an appointment online, but the person that I was automatically matched with had already left for the day(It was only 3 pm on a Thursday). I was told that I have to wait until the other tax professionals were done with their clients to be helped. I understood that and used the time to do whatever I had to do. (Mind you that these appointments are generally hour long and I had come on time for my appointment so I was prepared to wait. The office is quite dingy and unless you are paying $75 for a consultation, no tax pro will give you the time of day to actually answer your questions in person or over the phone). Please keep in mind that I came in with the intention of paying $75 to ask three questions that I had about filing my own taxes (which I do because I'm pretty good and I enjoy doing it). However this past fiscal year, I started a small online store as a hobby and needed to know whether I should file it as a hobby or a small business and which I would benefit the most from. The lady that came to answer my three questions in between her clients was ridiculously rude. She's arrogant, talked over me on numerous occasions, didn't listen to my question and answered redundantly. I have never been treated with such disrespect. I was asking how I should file to benefit more and her answers were "you subtract the expenses from the profit you made and thats the amount you report". The question was "should I report it as a hobby, or a small business?" because according to the IRS there are four guidelines to reporting something as a hobby and I qualify for being both a hobby and a small business. Instead this lady went on and on about how I calculate my net income. I will not be returning to this location or any tax offices with H&R Block ever again. I will continue to do my taxes or hire a real tax professional that actually acts professionally. read more

Would never recommend. Husband and I both used to come here to get our taxes done. This past tax season they raised their prices by 50%. In addition the tax preparer did not seem to know what she was doing. I feel I did not get the full refund I was entitled to. Avoid. read more

Funny that the reviews here are either rated one or five. I've had good experiences at this location with Diane Court. She is excellent and thorough. In fact I just e-mailed her that I received a letter that I donated tax deductible money. I forgot. She responded promptly and I didn't expected her to so quickly. We are in the middle of tax season. She answers all of my questions and sometimes I make her research past returns to check on something I didn't remember. She always has the answers. I just like her a lot. Oh and that office doesn't feel overly crowded or noisy either. Perfect. The front desk seems to be OK too. Overall I highly recommend! read more

I am completely shocked at the level of service (or lack there of) at this place. The only reason i came here is because I used them years ago (maybe 8 years ago). Well clearly their service has declined. They have absolutely NO follow-up with customers, they say they'll have your taxes done in 24 hours, then you have to practically stalk them for 2 weeks just to get a finished product. They're rude, unprofessional and sloppy. They wouldn't tell me what I'm being charged...can't wait to find that out when I go later today. I've always used H&R Block online, honestly after this experience I don't think I'll even be using that. I'm absolutely disgusted by the trivial way they waste their customer's time. Do not use H.R. Block. You do not get the easy filing and payment experience you are promised. When speaking to our tax consultant we were told that filing with H.R. Block would be as easy if not easier than using an online product like Turbo Tax (which I have used for over 10 years). This could not be less true. While I might have been saved a few minutes of entering itemized deduction, the prep itself only saved me a few minutes between the meeting time with the accountant and the review of the initial inaccurate spreadsheets that I received. When I finally went to accept e-file my return, however, is when things started getting really bad. We were told by our accountant that once the return was prepared, similar to online services, we could accept our return, e-file and pay our state and federal taxes all through H.R. Block. THIS IS NOT TRUE. After going through the site and getting to the payment section of our return, we called to find out when we would be able to enter our bank account information to pay our taxes. We were told that first we had to pay the H.R. Block fees and then we would be taken to the screen to pay our taxes. NOT TRUE. Confused, my wife and I reached out to the H.R. Block office for help where we were told that they had no idea and we had to call back corporate technical support. After nearly an hour on the phone with H.R. Block (40 minutes of which with a "tech rep" who clearly did not know what we were doing) we were told that we could not in fact pay our taxes directly through the Company's service and had to figure it out our self. For the federal we were sent to a 3rd party site that charges a service fee and for the state we were told to go to the post office (inaccurate for both). An hour later, and after tons of aggravation, we finally paid our NY state and federal taxes online. Was it hard to do? No. But at 5x the cost of Turbo Tax, I was expecting to get what I was promised. The fee was way more than the savings. No need to use this service unless you have complicated tax questions and if you do really have complicated tax questions, why would you use H.R. Block in the first place????? read more

I've had pretty good experiences here the last few years. My taxes took a complicated turn due to a death, a coop sale, etc...stuff I just didn't want to tackle on my own. I file 2 different returns yearly & I work with a different person for each; they are both reliable & knowledgeable. My main person is personable & always remembers me, we chat about our families, etc. And she points things out about my taxes I would've never caught on my own, maximizing my returns. The other person is not as social with me but he gets the job done. I DO have to add that I recommend going as early in the year as you can...one year I went early but we were waiting for a couple of additional outside docs prior to filing & I let time go until close to the deadline, then I had to chase them down. And yes, response time isn't as prompt as you'd want it to be in those last several days prior to deadline because they are dealing with everyone else who waited until the last several days. (I did end up in their offices that last day, w/ a bunch of other not-thrilled looking people. My people did a great job once I saw them though. But yeah, not going to do that ever again!) But if make an appointment for say sometime in March, & have all your docs ready, things should go swimmingly. read more
