Just did my joint tax return with my wife and everything went smooth. Took us about 40min in and out the building. Employees are respectful and the place is clean. I don't know why the other reviews are that bad but they probably had a change of employees and now it's good again. The front sign will probably distract other people because one side fell and made it looked like a rundown place especially after reading the other reviews but again, never judge a book by its cover. read more

She had her work cut out for her as I had the last 2 years to file and a few unique situations. Don't use these guys they will RIP YOU OFF! use another tax service in Oak Harbor. I've done my taxes with h&r block for years both online and in person and this was the very worst customer service experience I've ever had. they had signs all over saying upfront prices and no surprises. I took my taxes in to just have them review what I had done. I was supposed to get a refund of about $1000. the woman who I spoke to never said anything about pricing and when she called a few days later to come in they told me it would cost $600! I refused to pay that amount especially since she had done nothing except check my work and came up with the same numbers and never mentioned the cost. if anyone, anyone at all had said this service will cost $600 I would've said no thank you. I can do my own taxes online for free or less than $100. I went in mainly because I had a couple questions and for peace of mind. a supervisor apologized profusely and gave my paperwork back which I appreciated. when I went online to hrblock.com a few days later my account was locked pending a $600 payment. now my account and previous tax information has been deleted and is no longer visible or accessible. thanks for nothing. my taxes still aren't done. *if you don't review taxes then just say so. *let someone know the cost so they can decide if they want to continue especially since you have upfront pricing signs everywhere *your people were very rude and unprofessional when I needed help and understanding read more

I would not recommend them to anyone at all. I had a HI return and the rep helping me said that everything was fine I didn't need to mail anything in and everything was done. Low and behold I get a letter from HI telling me that my return was filed incorrectly and it needed to be amended. So I went back again and she looked at it and again said it was fine I just needed to mail a form into them. Still wrong again. I then went back a third time and spoke with the manager who proceeded to tell me that the woman that did my filing did everything right and HI was being ridiculous. A fourth time I go back to tell them it needed to be amended and they still told me I was incorrect and it was again HI fault. I spoke with tax reps in HI and they gave me clear instructions as to what needed to be fixed. H&R Block refuses to refund you the money you paid for their mistakes and are very rude about it. I had gone through H&R Block for the previous tax season and had zero issues so this should have been no different. I will be finding a new place for the next tax season. This is absolutely unacceptable. read more
