Tried using online services , they need me to verify information from over five years ago. One question is " what month is your spouses birthday" never had a spouse , yet somehow I am answering questions about myself wrong? They do not have an email, and when you call toll free number you don't get anywhere with the automated service. Very very very impersonal, and I will be switching to TurboTax next year read more

In the past, I have used H&R Block to file my taxes online. It's always been simple and I've never had a problem. I had a few life changes this year (new job, got married, took on dependents, etc.) and thought my husband and I would be better off coming in to have a tax specialist work with us. We could not have been more wrong. Our certified tax "expert" was condescending and rude the entire time my husband and I were at her desk. She was judgmental and repeatedly questioned us on our choices of profession (we are both educators) and lifestyle (when we left, she told me I never should have gotten married in the first place if I actually cared about myself and my taxes, and that had I been single, I wouldn't have had the "burden" of my husband's taxes to deal with). She ignored all of our questions, neglected several important forms (non-taxed interest payments and employment expenditures), refused to consider my husband's paperwork for his exemption from the health care penalty charge, and has basically fucked our tax return. Tax season is stressful enough as it is and I truly hoped that this experience would be positive and helpful. Instead, it's only made matters worse. Her only advice to us when we left was to call the IRS. This was an awful experience and I would not recommend this place to even my worst enemy. read more

My boyfriend and I walked in to this establishment to schedule an appointment to do our taxes for the upcoming weekend. The receptionist was very rude and appeared annoyed about providing appointment availability information. She didn't answer our questions and insisted we complete a personal information form instead, without explaining reason. They lost two separate customers in a matter of minutes. read more

A week in advance I made a appointment for 11a.m. Saturday morning. They sent me an appointment confirmation text which I replied with my confirmation. My appointment day arrives I show up to a closed location no one in sight, guess whomever was supposed to meet me wanted the weekend off, so did I but instead I got out of bed, got ready and got here to my confirmed appointment! What's the worse part I wasn't sure of the address sense they don't type in their text so I called customer service and they confirmed my appointment again and the address. I called customer service in front of the closed location they said someone should be there probably running late....really? Nobody ever showed up and customer service said they were not answering their phone. How unprofessional...and the sign on the windows reads open everyday by appointment....such a poor excuse for a reputable business, you wasted my Saturday morning and an entire week before I can address this again, guess what I am a customer...but not with you, I am never coming back nor recommend this location to anyone, taxes should be in the hands of trusted professionals... read more

Met with Rod, and he was able to do my taxes right then and there! I have a pretty complicated tax situation, but he was able to guide me through everything. I am glad I came prepared, because Rod knew exactly what to do in a huge variety of scenarios. It was a tiny bit more expensive than I had hoped, but I ended up getting a lot more back on my taxes, which made up for it. 5/5 would recommend. read more

I have been to this location twice and both experiences have been very pleasant. Both times I had Aida help me and she was great! She was very patient, sweet, knowledgeable and was more than happy to answer any questions I had. Shelley at the front desk was also very friendly, welcoming and offers you tea, coffee or water. When to this location due to office near my home was closed. Received IRS letter requesting the health care form 1099-a and IRS form 8962. Check my H&R software I used and it didn't transfer those files to the IRS. So I downloaded the IRS form 8962 and took a copy of covered ca. 1099-a to this H&R Block office for help in doing this form correct. The agent took my copy of 1099-a and the IRS form 8962. So while I waited she copied by hand the figures to my copy of IRS form 8962. Did not even bother to download the IRS PDF file to professionally fill in the correct numbers and my data. The form was written hastily, looked like chicken scratch. Only wrote my name and S.S. # filled nothing else but a incorrect total of my payments to Health Net. They faxed an incomplete and poorly filled out form to IRS? Then charged me $59.00 for a crappy that I could have done better and saved the bucks. I DO NOT recommend them or using H&R software. read more
